Modifying a Radiator

  • This video is about modifying an aluminum radiator to fit. A costumer purchased a radiator for a custom jeep wrangler and the size of the radiator worked, but that was about it. They brought it to me and supplied all the parts for the modification, and with a little bit of instructions, I cut and hacked and welded and made the changes.

    Nice skills. Would a spool gun have filled that gap nice and quick or just make a mess of things?

      If you could fit a backer plate in there, a spool gun might work but it's hard to say.

    I have to modify my radiator. Also, what was your tig settings?

      Set it to AC, probably 150amps. If it takes more than a few seconds to form a nice puddle, turn up the amps. I'd probably run the ac balance around 60%, depending on how dirty the material is. If it's clean you can be up to 70-75% but if it's really dirty you might have to lower it to 55%. I usually never go above 75% or below 55% on aluminum. Thanks for watching, hope this helps
