- when battery is set to 115kw/h it will output 115kw/h even if your base needs only 50kw/h, by setting the battery output to input the battery has no opportunity to fully charge, the base itself has no energy or water storage (it displays storage of connected battery and water tank), you can see base requirements in the workshop panel
- the white marker on the map was placed there by you, you can place unlimited number of white markers on the map and there are different icons for them, allowing you to mark looted places (you can even name the marker as looted), only red, yellow and green marker are displayed on the HUD (only one colored marker for each color, older duplicates are set to white)
- the outside temperature is safe at 8:00, you don't need to wait until 10:00 or later (there is also an upgrade that will make it safe the entire night)

I think updating the batteries to work more similarly to real life, as in power draw = battery discharge would be a welcome change. And they would be more user friendly/doesn’t require configuration.

@@bigiron4018 in real life batteries constantly produce the same voltage, while having certain capacity that can be drained, which is how it works in the game too except you can set the voltage (it's set as output and since it's same as input here the battery can't charge properly). Furthermore, the batteries in real life have both voltage and amperage which makes using them even more difficult and the game has actually easier setup

Try watching somone else a bit smaller as they usually go hard on one game with hour long episodes and good quality if you find a good channel. Like Z1 I watched when I first found subnautica!

I've been asking for longer videos for a while. I understand it works for him and we get daily uploads but you have guys like fooster uploading hour long videos daily or every other day and we're lucky to get more than 16-18 min from drae.

You set it to use 85 power. That’s why you are running out of power. Pro tip dray only set your power usage to what your base is using.

i am playing this also... used some cheats to make myself go faster and i have been 60,000 away from my base and it keeps going.... you will see some historic sites :D the first ATV you can still rebuild.... when you get heavy rover keep materials that you can build a few solar panels and transformer... it has a lot of storage!

It's also be solved if he wasn't trying to output more than he is inputting, or the whole I'll leave only 5 left for the atv and storage... He should only be outputting what the building needs and storing the rest for nightfall.
hey Drae you might want to rotate the thing your plugin the solar panels into where the plug ins are facing the solar panels it will make it a lot easier
Get rid of the seed planting machine, you don't need it, one hydroponic shelf will keep you going forever.
Always save your game before destroying electrical equipment( mostly the small solar panels if your replacing.)
Weather events spawn on you. Get away from your base every time there is one. Trust me you won't want to blow all the dust off your after dust storm has been over it or meteors smashing it to bits.
You can view interactable objects by pressing Z(easier to find those tablets) Or go one better and go to settings and have it turned on permanently and set view distance to max as sometimes things spawn under bases( a quick relog will respawn them at the correct heights)
You can cheese the blueprints by saving before using it and going to main menu and reload and then use the BP ,it will be different every load.
How many episodes until Drae realizes he is outputting more than he is inputting which is part of the issue....

Power , go outside and stand right next to base and look at it and it tells you how much water and power it needs and how much your supplying , just put slightly more than it needs as different plants use different power and water

The command station in the workshop will tell you what the minimum power requirements are for your HAB. You should only set your batteries to spend out that much
You can save right before picking up the tablet and reload if you want something different. Might take a couple loads but it works

Best Survival game series
Just a tip, hold down CTRL when picking up items to send them directly to your inventory and not hold them in your hand, also focus on your battery pack upgrades to make your power last all night. The map is the entire planet from what I can tell, so it is huge. I enjoy watching you, keep up the great work.

Hey man. You probably don't need to export all the power that youre putting in. Thats probably whats draining your battery through the night. Only export what your need for the habitat
TO see ur health its lower left on ur hud. love the videos. can we either get more vids of the game a week or longer episodes as 17 mins of this game is not a verry long video i feel.

Expand your battery, it's far from fully expanded.
All POI's should have tablets, but the game still glitches the loot down under the bases.
The way to check is to set the visibility of items with interactions to max, set them either always visible or use the highlight key every time you come up to a base.
If the loot is below the ground, then save, load that save and all the loot should be replaced to a height you can reach.
Even with completely dismantled bases you'll get the loot up to the ground level.

Youre running out of energy at night because you dont have enough batteries. Your battery is measured in watt/hours, your total capacity is 720.
The base and the grid consume 115 watts/hour.
So, really you are working with about 6 hours of power. You just need to know how long the night is and make more capacity to survive long enough for the sun to come up. Also I want to say try putting an airlock between the rooms to save on energy and air. 14:44
you are incorrect, he drains the battery completely while charging it (setting the output to input) so it doesn't charge at all, the battery input has to be at least twice the output (capacity does matter but not for such a small base), his base only needs about 40/h (12h = 480)

@peterkalafus9514 I would need to see the display screen inside the room to see what the base actually needs and set the power going from the supply to the right "power out" so you don't waste power.
Airlocks actually draw power and will result in a loss. In all reality he doesnt even need the other warehouse module which is drawing 20wh just by existing. If he scrapped down the machine benches and other non essentials, and only had the basics he could get away with less than 30wh. Also the battery will still store the unused power but he is using too much power keeping un-used equipment in place as well as structures that draw alot of power. He is using 45wh just by having the buildings not including the equipment. He is probably running the co2 scrubber at near 10wh which is not needed at all but not wearing a helmet is an un-needed option other than rp. It is easier to just turn it on to fill the bottle and off when not in use or use the survival shelter and dont bother with co2 scrubber at all. My maths he is somewhere around 65wh useage with what he is setup and he needs atleast 10 hours worth through the night which he never has over 650 stored and is why he runs out. The output only matters if under the amount required as excess will be stored back into the system and not wasted.

Also, while I know it'll give you unnecessary anxiety Drae, could you imagine the multiplayer in this game? You and IGP would be trolling Icy so hard and Skilly would be off dying some where 50 km away begging for help and saying that he can't jump or something.........I can already see it now.

If you keep the output of the power higher than the input you would lose power at night check how much power your base needs to operate

Drae! You're having power issues at night because you don't have enough BATTERY. You don't need more solar panels unless your batteries aren't getting fully charged before nightfall. And set your power output to just what your base and ATV requires, not over.
He's also allocating more power to his base than it needs. The mechanics of the game don't work the way he thinks they do.

Keep it going
You should save before using the tablets, then you can load and try again for the blueprint you need. I found out the hard way, and a lot of time wasted trying to get the right blueprint.

if I remember correctly, at the beginning of the game there was a warning not to destroy anything near active electrical devices cause they can explode 🤔

A small issue I see with your setup. You have a current maximum of 450 kwh and are using around 80 (at least at the beginning of the video.) Math would put you at just under 6 hours of battery time at full charge. So the problem isn't your input, it's your total capacity and the fact you keep cranking up your output to closely match your input. Balance your output to be just a few kwh above what is necessary to run your base. If you leave your output set to max overnight, the batteries will drain that output per hour. So optimize your output and increase your capacity.
You can Save and load when you use the tablets and also you need 6 small hydroponic shelves (or 1 greenhouse) to survive

If so i'm an utter failure playing on the default Campaign difficulty living off 1 incubator and Hyrdoshelf and im starting to build excess
You can survive with a single hydroshelf. you can make basic meals with a low food value(around 16) but you will survive. To get the maximum potential you need to have a greenhouse just to get the food values into a better place(around 50) but absolutely not required to survive. It just makes your food go further as it does more for you but it does require much more water and power to make that work. Drae can barely keep a single hydroshelf wet.. Lets not complicate it with crops, nitrogen, and god forbid... dirt. He has enough troubles.

The game is interesting and i like seing drae somehow screwing things up every time (quad bike exploding for this episode). But with that huge tech tree it feels like the game is missing objectives or a higher goal, except for surviving. Building a base is ok enough, but for example this game is very similar to Terraforming mars, where you have that giant techtree and it's for a reason, terraforming it; but here with just the goal of survival it seems like you can make do with less than what drae has so far achieved. Unless they figure out where they want to go with the story or the objective. It's going to another situation like son's of the forest where the game was buillt and they crammed and patch worked the story modifying the game as they go which ends up borking most of the time
Yeah they really need something for end game. once you have unlocked everything that's it. you have the Rover for mining but for what ?unless you like building buildings.
@@chromeingame3551 Read a few comments elsewhere that once they got the heavy rover and cargo box for the back, they never had a permanent base and lived a nomadic lifestyle just exploring as the food from the base's gave them enough
Yeah it looks like a few hours of fun at best. Not having a longer term goal has to get boring quickly.

You need more batteries and battery extensions.
There is no easy way to see health....well other than the health bar :)
you need to lower the power out at night so that you don't use your reserve at night
leave it to drae to make a huge power station and then blow it up 3 minutes later
Make two separate bases one with plants and bed and one with everything else, then during the night disconnect the second base.
This game needs a year in development, its *Way Too Buggy*

Still hasn't understood the cost of expanding the base has made his power problems worse. You dont need the second warehouse module. It requires 20wh just to exist. You dont need all your benches built in place as they also draw power. Embrace your suit and keep your helmet on, turn off the Co2 scrubber unless filling a bottle or use the survival pod to refill. This saves power to your base and keeps you from ever forgetting to put on a helmet before going through an airlock. Unless of course you can give me a reason for ever taking it off that has a point. My biggest issue with the game is you grind and grind to get the resources and blueprints to build the rover and crusher machine, but then you really have nothing to use the resources on since by then you have built everything and have no need for 5000+ ores that craft into nothing useful. If you wanted to build up a giant base you cant because you get restricted by the amount of circuit boards there are and you cannot craft them. Even if you do get enough to build up a decent base the question is why? There arent any useful reasons to make a majority of the structures as the purpose of the structure is colonization and you are in survival mode, not restart the mars mission mode. Why build a canteen when only you will be eating there? Or even why at all since you generally dont sit down to have a meal.. ever.. Just feels like there is alot of filler craftables that have no purpose and lack of story to give you reason for building bigger and better.

this is all very nice, but tbh poorly made games in a foreign language are way funnier...

You probably just need more batteries. If your production is capping out the batteries before sundown, you're just wasting the power production

5:54 what did you expect to happen? You can't just take a big saw to things expecting nothing to happen.
Your main issue so far is you have a lot of power but you're wasting it. Check your base needs in the control panel, then set your battery to that output. With you outputting over 100kW of energy but only have an incoming of 70+ then you're theoretically wasting 30kW of energy that could be stored. Your base WILL use the energy that your forcing the battery to output. As soon as you change this you'll be grand for energy

The jetpack blows harder than the wind devils are blowing air. The controls are so bad. Point your vision to the rover. Much better, more save and enjoyable.
Although I am looking forward to your first flight. Not to be a D, but you are going to die :P Controls are almost unplayable and you need a lot of patience to fly ;)
