- For the past eight years, every six weeks, we’ve produced something that has become an essential part of Six by Nico - our marketing videos. These aren’t just adverts; they are part of our storytelling.
In this episode, I’ll be reacting to some of the most powerful videos we’ve ever created. You’ll get an inside look at how they came to life, the impact they’ve had and why they remain such a crucial part of our creative process.

Having young kids meant I was locked down even before Covid! Home X was my absolute saviour to eating out! I still rave about a lamb jelly on the peas in the Father's Day box! Are you ever going to bring it back? I get out more now 😀 but would welcome it's return for sure!
Love the videos, its fascinating to see behind the scenes. I've just been to murder on the midnight express this weekend and it was fantastic, so much fun. With the fast pace of frequent menu changes, and all the planning that goes into them, how do you avoid burnout? There always looks to be so much thought and love put into everything at Six by Nico.
Looking forward to the Fried Egg experience soon! I would like to know if you start with lots of ideas for dishes and whittle them down to six or do you just know what you are aiming for once you have a theme?
Looking forward to Italian Experience in March!
We have been to your London restaurant several times and love the concept x Have you any plans to do a Sri Lankan experience?
I love the concept of your restaurants and the turnaround in dishes every 6 weeks is phenomenal. You have a fantastic team of people from kitchen to front of house.
I have seen the Chippy return but have you repeated other themes? If yes, do you keep the same dishes or change them up a bit?
Great content so far. Would you be able to do a video of how your sommelier selects the wine pairing for your menus?
Love the idea of a Q&A video! My first Six by Nico experience was the "Trust" menu, and I would like to ask whether this is something you could revisit in the future, or perhaps a "dining in the dark" experience...?
Due to visit restaurant for the first time in a couple of weeks. I heard great reviews really looking for to it . Great video👏👏
Incredibly interesting episodes so far. Really looking forward to finding out more and visiting your restaurants again in 2025. My question is - what menu concept would your younger self choose?
Loved every experience at six by nico so far 😍.
When will the Shanghai menu be back? Gutted when it was cancelled in Manchester
Love the different themes and the cocktails but what about an afternoon tea theme as the desserts I always want more!!
How do you find new wines for your pairings, are they separate trips?
Tried and loved the cocktail pairing with the last menu, how did that idea come about? And if I can ask an extra question, who selects the cocktails?
Question - how do you ensure all the chefs, across all the restaurants, cook the dishes so they are exactly the same in each restaurant?
Loved the videos so far and the insights.
I'd be curious to know when you first discovered your love of cooking and if you have any distinctive memory of a dish or cooking experience in your childhood that may have lit the spark?
Love the concept we were first introduced to 6BN through Home X boxes any plans to reintroduce these apart from the one off Christmas boxes?
We’ve just been to Oxford for Murder on the Midnight Express and loved it. Are there any menu themes you’d like to try out but won’t as you feel they won’t appeal to diners?
Loving the insightful content.
I would love to know how you chose the places to visit to obtain your inspiration for future menus and how long does the whole process take from concept to launch?
Many thanks.
Barrie
Love the concept and visit as often as possible. Do you work with good catering colleges in the Uk to attract and retain new staff?
What did you see in Modou that made you ‘trust’ in him and how long had you planned to give him the restaurant?
Hi loving your behind the scenes videos, really informative. My question would be do you make the decisions for the menu for all your outlets yourself or is there collaboration with your restaurant chefs
When planning a menu, how many dishes do you usually start with before you finally get it down to just six?
Hey Nico - we love everything SbN! Our question: Would it be possible to have fun day menus focused on kids, once in a while, where kids can be introduced to new tastes and food textures?
Do you have a limit to have many restaurants that you can operate effectively without potentially diluting or damaging the brand?
Been to every meal since Birmingham opened - love the concept and the food. What ingredient would you NEVER use in a dish?
Love these behind the scenes videos 🤩 my question is do you yourself cook in any of your restaurants? Looking forward to 21st Feb me and my friend are coming in to Spring Gardens for the murder mystery experience, we can't wait 🎉🎉
I’ve been to Somewhere by nico a million times but never to SIX. What is your favourite theme so far? And something you’d love to do? 🎉
Will Somewhere by Nico be opening in Dublin?
Have you a favourite dish you created? Not a menu, just a dish that's particularly memorable?
How do your chefs cook the chicken in your various dishes to keep it so moist and succulent?
Is it true you’re coming to Nottingham? So excited if you are!
Hi Nico, really sad we are going to miss the current menu due to commitments so my question is
When will murder on the midnight express return?
We will book immediately😊
Love six by nico concept!
What’s been your most challenging menu / meal to plan or cook?
What’s the inspiration behind constantly changing the menu at Six by Nico, and how do you decide on the themes for each new experience?
Which country that you haven’t visited yet inspires you ?
Will you ever do a breakfast/brunch inspired menu? And when is Tokyo menu coming back? I missed it 😢
Do you have a favourite ingredient to work with or one you would love to work with in the future?
Is your Liverpool restaurant going to reopen?
what have been your biggest regrets / mistakes over the journey!
Tell us about the menus or items that haven't worked, and if you know why, why? Would you do them again but differently?
You’ve mentioned international expansion in previous videos, in an ideal world where would your dream sixbynico restaurant be?
What country next? My taste buds want to keep on travelling with you.
Did you start cooking from a young age and who was your main inspiration?
You're not allowed to answer Italy.
If you could live in any country in the world, based only on the food, which one would you choose?
