    I love Indian dishes. They are spicy and tasty at the same time. My previous tenant was a 24 year old Indian student who came to stay in my basement while she was in School. I enjoyed her cooking. Me and my husband used to finish everything she cooks in no time ha ha.. Miss you Jayanthi and your cooking's. Love from xX Maggie & Bob

    I respect everyone's food choices but I hate it when people say that vegetarians eat grass and it's boring to be a vegetarian, I don't know about other countries but if you are a vegetarian in India you will never even realize that you are missing out something as a foodie. You can eat different-different dishes each day all around the year.

    I’m from the West Midlands in the U.K. and luckily for me, it has hundreds of Indian restaurants! We have a large Asian community and it’s famous for food- there’s a road in Birmingham that is just made up of Indian restaurants! It’s honestly my favourite food!

    This dosa looks just like the ones you will get in any good restaurant here in south India in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad. It is authentic and not altered to cater to local taste buds buds like a lot of Indian restaurants abroad tend to do.

    Temple food is always super authentic, same in Paris. Im Mexican, my boyfriend is half-polish and we live in Paris, I asked him to take me to the most authentic pierogi in town and he took me to the polish temple in rue Saint Honore. If you ever want to try authentic polish food in Paris, go there.

      Dosa is not temple food.. It's just a snack in canteen... It's available in every Indian restaurant too. The thing is only that place is famous for it's Dosa and all that...

      Suvikhya Siingh it is not about Dosa being temple food. It's about finding authentic food. Most restaurants don't really offer authentic food- they change things up to make it more suitable for the taste of the locals there.. or they change things up, because they need to substitute ingredients-- Gaby said that if you want to try authentic food, the food offered in temples is usually very authentic

      Try going to Gurudwara (place od worship for Sikhs & even Hindus) some day near your home. Your will get good food (North Indian Veg only) all day, served to community there for free.

    Couldn’t agree more. Definitely one of the best places to have authentic South Indian food (more like snacks) and the prices are cheaper compared to other restaurants. I’ve been going there since 2001 and the taste is always spot on...Highly recommend it..

    What I loved is the fact that it's all Indian outside the nation border. The Tamilian man speaking Hindi is a bliss. I have recently started learning Tamil and its a beautiful language(although tough to learn) . Hats off to the guys at the temple..

    Enjoying the masal dosai made by my grandmother as I see this video. Idlies and Dosas are really underrated. A typical breakfast includes a couple of steaming hot idlies and a crispy dosai along with one chutney and sambar and topping it with a hot cup of filter coffee! Just typing this makes my mouth water

      @@waltercooper7199 Not really, the sambar can also be poured on rice and eaten as a meal. Just rip out big pieces dunk it in the sauce and eat. Some people don't like the sauces and eat it dry, some people literally marinate it in the sauces till it's soggy and then eat. You can also make rolls if you want, there is no traditional way of eating it, everyone does what they want.

    Happy to see foreigners and others there enjoying dose.. Dose is the most common breakfast in India (especially South) even though I eat frequently, It was and will be my favorite breakfast item in the world!

    I have heard about this canteen. People love it.
    The President of this Hindu Temple is the OB/GYN who delivered my two daughters in 1977 and 1980. She is a wonderful person.
    Many speak very favorably of this canteen.

    My family is Indian, but tons of our relatives and friends live in NYC. We visit yearly and go to the temple every time. We never forget to eat lunch in this cafeteria!

      I have seen people in India killing dosa with Paneer Chilly, Schezwan Pav Bhaji masala, chocolate dosa, Maggie dosa, the list of pathetic fillings goes on. So peas and carrot is nothing

      @@mohitmasand these so called 'varieties' r butchering the actual taste which is supposed to be in a dosa, i have seen a restaurant in bangalore which sells butter chicken dosa, and they call it a 'fusion' of the north and south, what a mockery of a dish.

    I tried a masala dosa for the first time not too long ago and OMG! I can't even begin to explain the flavours to someone. Just by looking at it, you're like ok.. but then you bite into it and it's SOOO flavourful and the texture!! I couldn't believe it!! Where have you been all my life?!!!
