@@WestinSmith but it’s 1000 better when they tell you what to throw and when to throw and everything else that helps you catch fish especially the boat I wish I started on someone’s boat 🛶 I got skunked like a 100 times when I started till I caught my first bass, I live in Los Angeles and I fish these tiny super super pressured pond that I’m super happy to even get a bite even on micro lures
that's really dope how your showing them tips and stuff without getting annoyed makes people like me comfortable to fish tournaments with others as a rookie haha
Oh man, your play-by-play words of encouragement in trying not to worry this kid when working on that snap ring was hilarious! 😂 mm-hmm yeah, I almost got it. But it hurts so bad. . . Yup, yup, yup. I can’t do nothing about it! 😅 l. . . can’t do nothing about it! 🤣 This kid deserves an award for best Drama Scene on a fishing TH-cam platform! He just knocked “apbassing” out of 1st place! 😆🤙🏼 All joking aside, great job fellas! Y’all couldn’t have ask for a better Fishing Coach! Tight lines, ~ Manny ~ 👊🏼
Great job, Westin, by taking on the task of being a boat captain for these kids. I got hooked only once by trebles and it was bad. Squarebill crankbait, caught a small bass, yeah the ones that'll hook you quick, got the one treble hooked from behind the cuticle of my thumb into underneath the nail. Had to have a small hole drilled into my nail where the point of the hook was, push it through, cut the hook with a small Dremel and pull it though completely. It's so funny that you looked up ole Richard Gene the Fishing Machine as one of the videos to remove a hook. Good ole RGTFM is a North Alabama native fishing on the same system I fish on. Love your vids! Love you supporting our next gen of bass fishermen! Love your energy! Would love to one take you fishing on Pickwick Lake or Wilson Lake and aee if I can get you on some ledge fishing. Tight lines!
I hooked a my guided behind the knee while fly fishing last Key in the Florida Keys, it was heartbreaking to watch him push the hook the rest of the way through and cut the barb off.
Any day fishing is a good one, just have to take the losses as lessons. Good job guys…. Westin I would like to reach out to you about something but don’t know the best way to do so
Time to hit Amazon . full size wire cutters Channellock 338 cut the hook eye on both sides of the split ring . If two barbs are buried cut them where they join at the shank leave enough of the bend to work hook chunks out . sometimes you have to push the hook in until the barb pops out the other side like sewing
Share your stories of getting hooked while out fishing and how you got the hook out
Never got hooked thank the lord but had a friend split my lip open with a weight as he was casting though.
Successfully yanked a hook out of a buddies hand, but forgot to remove the hook from the lure. The rear hook left an even bigger gash! Lol. Ooops.
I wish I had someone like you to get me started fishing and actually catch fish
I learned from videos just like this! Anything you need to know is out there on TH-cam these days, that’s the great part

Westin running the clinic on these guys. Never hooked myself but my car seats definitely have a few hooks in em
Don't forget the headliner!
@@repairdrive 🤣 my last car the headliner was falling down. Hopefully doesn’t happen in the truck
Hey Westin, a good rule my captain and I follow is you catch a keeper on a spot, you leave. You don’t want to pressure the spot the day before
Great of you to coach them. Don’t understand walking around a boat with no shoes and a ton of hooks.
All part of the learning process I suppose 🤣 curious what they decide to wear at the next one

Love this! You are a great boat captain
Love the tournament videos!!
Thank ya!
If I had a dollar for ever time Westin said “that’s how you break a rod” I’d have enough to buy some in n out 😂
They may not have won but the definitely had fun!

Big fear of mine especially since I don’t do well with seeing my own blood lol. Shoes on the boat should be a new rule!

Ayyy what a comment! Thanks for all the info, NOTED!! I gotta check into those cutters
Was going to say the same thing. Better to sacrifice that hook over a toe.
