    That's some GREEN belt! I've never seen one before.
    This tool is very interesting. I'd just discovered you having watched your video on fuel pump sending unit adjustments. Very good.
    Recently a friend and I went nuts trying to figure out why the pulley's were out of alignment on a used car I'd bought. It turned out to be a missing spacer at one of the power steering pump adjustments, and being over tightened where the spacer would go. In addition to that the main mounting of the alternator hole had worn to being an oval.
    This was caused by someone in the past that had worked on the car. It took a lot of figuring on our part (eight hours) and once we realized something was wrong in the area that the spacer would go, we then rechecked the factory service manual diagram and that confirmed a spacer belonged there. We'd have found that out a lot sooner if the factory diagram had been drawn better.
    This had to be the most odd problem I'd experienced in all my years of working on cars.

    I can't believe I didn't see this video before; really do need this product. I have had a chirping sound come from the engine since first time I fired it up. I had to modify an AC compressor relocation bracket I ordered from Kwik Performance. It involved removing material from one end and adding washers on the other. Thanks Terry!

      @@Coverman66 Thanks Terry, I'm doing good. I sent off the steering column from my '87 Monte SS to be rebuilt. I get it back Monday. There are some weird electrical problems I've been having with the LS swap...just eliminating possible causes.

    This is a good video mate. You should do a video about belt alignment where the belt that needs to be aligned is on the inside edge of a pulley with two belts. Like a power steering pump with the belt behind the main belt but both run of the balancer.

    You must read my mind. I ate about 5 belts on my ls simple kit. I've even talked to murphy about it. Sometimes the belts stay on. Sometimes it slips to the rear of the crank pulley....going to buy that asap

    Great video, liked and subscribed cause you explained it well 👍
    Can you do a video or do you have a video of how to actually move the pullys if they're out of line? My alternator pully is out of line after a mechanic didn't put it in properly
    Also would you recommend an amature doing it? I've got alot of engineering experience but no car experience, is it difficult and can alot go wrong? Thanks alot for your help and stay safe

    Hey Terry. I have been chasing a squeak for over a year. It's almost gone but still sneaks back in. What's the actual adjustment procedure? Shimming or pulling pressed on pulley's off and reinstalling at a different depth?

    • @Coverman66
      @Coverman66  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the steering pump has to be exact.. i heat the center and its easier to get off or press on to line up. the crank pulley you torque to 220ft lbs and thats where it should be..
