    This is a tough one! Some of the moves involved will be very tricky to do even after watching the video so you are going to need a certain level of patience.
    The Cyclone solution involves unhooking each piece from each other. In total, there are 6 unhooking moves before all 4 Cyclone pieces are disassembled.
    If you have any issues following the solution, comment below and I'll do what I can to help.
    The Cyclone puzzle is a very difficult one, hopefully this solution makes it easier for you to do.
    Enjoy the Hanayama Cyclone puzzle solution!

    Great job once again Ross. I could not have done it without you. I like this puzzle somewhat but there is definitely some force involved and I believe a proper puzzle should not require ANY force. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks.

      There is a way to do it without any force! You just have to get it all into the perfect position.

      I bought 2 of them. I waited a few months to get the second one to see if a different batch would help the forcing issue but the problem is still there on both of them. Ross's way and Mr. puzzles way of solving both work but both require force to solve. The force issue has improved as the plating wears off. I also believe that different batches could have very slightly different tolerance witch is why some people don't have this problem. It seems most people have to force it.@@tylerbeastgarrett

    I thank you so much for this video. I’ve been trying to figure this one out for weeks. As for using force, I may have one that was made slightly better than most here, because with proper alignment, the pieces just kinda fall into place and come apart.

    Holy cow so I am doing right. It’s just that the new cast puzzles suck. I see everyone in the comments with the same complaints. I can almost take apart the first two rings. But the gaps in the surrounding rings aren’t enough to separate the first ones. Thanks for the help!

  • @Neves1277
    @Neves1277 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I too had to force the first disconnect. IMO as a former metal machinist, I think the issue is the very tight tolerances involved in manufacturing. When you're mass producing something like this where it's down to ten-thousandth of an inch, that +/-.0001 makes a huge variance in each one that in return affects the individual experience. My complaint is serious hand cramping! TY Ross for your guide.

    This is a difficult puzzle to separate I still can’t get the angle right to pull them a part! I feel this is harder than trinity puzzle and that’s level 6 but I just wondering do u think this is harder or radix is harder ? Radix is one of my favourite and definitely my top 10

      Radix is a very nice puzzle, it's in my top 10 favourite too. I'm not sure which is harder to be honest, they're probably about the same.

    I have found that Mr. Puzzles way of centering the Cyclone pieces works best for me then I go with Ross's method after that. After doing this puzzle about 10 times the amount of force needed has gotten considerably less but is still there. The finish has worn off the tips. I'm not real happy with this puzzle and seeing how many people have the same issue I think Hanayama had to have known about this but made and shipped the puzzles anyway. Really a shame since the rest of there puzzles have been such good quality.

    Good video. By the way, if you’re running low on Hanayama puzzles, there’s a whole lesser known line of sea creature themed Hanayamas designed by Akio Yamamoto. He’s the one who designed Vortex and Amour, as well as many others. Sorry to clutter your comment section. I’m not sure how to message you on here.

    Having issues getting the Cyclone pieces apart. It seems to need more force than I can put to it. I do know how hard some moves can be, this is my 14th Huzzle Puzzle. I can't help but think there may be a fault here.

    • @tinksdarkerside3048
      @tinksdarkerside3048 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got there in the end, and reassembled too (thanks to your video). I still don't think these puzzles should need any force at all. My fingers are hurting now!

  • @Wrackey
    @Wrackey 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    By the looks of the colours of yours, you have a pre-production unit. Bought one of these but the move where you take the first 2 rings apart is impossible without force. Send in a complaint and got a replacement, and that one was even worse. If Hanayama wants to make puzzles that need to work this precise, they need to work on their tollerances. Your solution is slightly different from the one by mr puzzle, but your solution (as I found out myself with my first puzzle ) works best, but requires force. The ease with which tou take your puzzle appart is absolutely impossible with the retail versions. I can SEE that you have space that I don't have. The way Mr Puzzle shows is just completely impossible with my puzzle. I do NOT recommend these. If it worked like in this video, I would have. The idea is nice. But the retail piece is just frustrating.

    • @RossDM
      @RossDM  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, this isn't the retail version. That's interesting though, one of my fears when I first did this one was that the finish on the final version would scratch given how tight this move is.
      I've not seen Mr Puzzles video, I'll check it out at some point. I don't have a retail version so I can't check out the differences. Although, to get to a level of competency for this move it took me days of repeating this same move over and over and over again. One of the hardest moves I've had to learn.

    • @Wrackey
      @Wrackey 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RossDM Thank you for your answer. It would be interesting if you could get the retail version too, to see if there are differences. But it might even be just a bad batch that I have, maybe made from a mold that has been used one too many times maybe. But I'll say this: Knowing what you have to do, but not being able to with less then a quarter of a millimeter, but feeling that the puzzle is "bending" 5:27 if you only push a little bit more (edges and notches perfectly aligned), is just frustrating.. especially, if you have played with it for days, not forcing it, only to finally give up and check a solution video, to find that that IS the proper move to do. And yes, the finish is scratching off at that point. Maybe it even is exactly the FINISH that's causing the tolerances to be just too tight on the retail version. I mean... it adds a little thickness... EVERYWHERE! Must add up :-/

    • @Wrackey
      @Wrackey 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just counted: With the move at 5:27, the thickness of the layer of finish is added together 10 times!
