If you want one of these custom builds or an authentic Louisiana Pirogue built, find Parrish Pirogues and Cypress on Facebook! We’re not sponsored, we just really like the guy. We actually buy crawfish from him sometimes 🦞
Where are you guys? Like where in Louisiana I’m in chalmette like 30 mins out New Orleans, St. Bernard parish, and I’ve seen people do similar things with their normal boats im just wondering
I love how this Chanel is not only about fishing for crawfish and great ways to cook, season and catch them but is also about the history of Louisiana life. Not only do you get an idea of the food Louisiana has to offer but you also learn about celebrations like Mardi Gras and learn about how indigenous people hunted in Louisianas vast pond/lake areas. You also learn how many people still tend to use indigenous peoples methods of water travel and how Louisiana is a welcoming and friendly state with a community of people who see you more as a family friend than a stranger. I’ve never been to Louisiana and unfortunately don’t enjoy sea food but this channel makes me want to hop on a plane and try crawfish for the first ever time. I probably won’t love the crawfish but I’d be sad that my brain dislikes the taste of something that looks so tasty to eat.
You do an excellent job of educating people about history and always include the whole story and being respectful to different cultures. It's refreshing. Thanks !!!
That so awesome that you guys shared a bit of History of the Choctaw! I am Choctaw from the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians. So it’s an honor that y’all have tried out this method.
That is so awesome! I'm so happy y'all have the boat with all that love and hard work invested in it. And I pray y'all have success with your new equipment!💜👍🙏
I did this exact same thing with my kayak for duck season the i fish with t it the rest of the year. My kayak blends in perfectly with the rice we have growing in our crawfish pond!
Funfact vikings from around 1000 years ago made their boats almost in the same way but better they could hold more people and things for a trade in another land or for a viking train (when a lot of vikings are on boats to raid another town far away
My grandpa has been a pretty big name on Texas side of Caddo for carpentry for a long time, him and my great uncle now do tours for their out of state friends that come to visit on his that he built himself! They’re awesome
The Center For Traditional Louisiana Boat Building & Museum has some (my grandpa made a few some on TH-cam before he passed) and they used to do classes but the building in Lockport was damaged during Hurricane IDA send love and support so they can reopen.
