It is necessary to have dreams in life, this one is mine. that is why I spend hours and hours on the Simulator. respect for the demonstration, very gracious and realistic flight
As an Australian, I had the wonderful opportunity of visiting Malta - and indeed I visited Ta Qali & watched these models fly. Wonderful place Malta, - wonderful people. I'd LOVE to live there, but at 6000 Euros alone for an application fee for temporary residency and a flat tax of 15,000 Euros every year ( just to live there ) - its WAY out of my limits.
wow...simply wow.. you should make versions to hold imax cameras and apache versions too. these would generate revenues from the film industry. you could then work with the mini-helicopters
Mainly it is both the size and weight that helps a pilot fly smoother, which after all is what scale flying is all about!. However, a turbine engine does not have any "knocking' when working, so that also helps.Jojo
Thanks. Although it is a fact that the larger the model the 'easier' it is to fly, one has not to forget that the bigger , the more intimidating it becomes, apart from the investment of both capital and time in the equation!! Jojo
@sanfranciscobay The main rotor is connected through a 'gear box' which is eventually connected to the turbine. When flying, the rotor RPM is 850 while the turbine's RPM is 94,000! It goes up and down, because the pitch of the main rotor blades are varied. In a hobby like this, cost is not an issue, although you are quite close to your assumption.. JJ
Thanks. at the time of me building the kit, 3 bladed was not on my list. to be honest I was aware that another 'gyro' needed to be installed, so for starters I decided to stay with 2 bladed until I am settled with the settings for the rest of the helicopter. however, I never ruled out that it wont' become 3-bladed :) Jojo
one of the best turbine startup videos seen on youtube. The only to bad are too small circles of flying path. it never flew more than 40 meters away... and never over 5 meters high... a bit boring. Impressive fowl anyways.
Truly a beast of a r.c helicopter. Looks fantastic. Great job flying it a true master. And all you people who leave comments about flying rc helicopters. Go get one.cause that takes years of skill.
@synthuser Thanks for your post, however please do keep in mind that, like myself a pilot flying such a model will fly it to his liking in that I enjoy flying my model at close proximity simply because I enjoy them better especially when I can hear, smell and feel (the heat) of the turbine's power!! :) JJ
The helicopter was built from a kit sold by Vario. Apart from the kit you then shall need to invest in a lot of time to build it and make it fly. It will take at least 600 hours of work to get it as you can see it in the video. All electronics are scratch built and you shall need to take a lot of decisions as you go along, not to mention the number of times you shall need to consult with friends and forums whenver you face a problem :) JJ
the helicopter is powered by a Jakadofsky Pro turbine. I believe that if I was to compare it to the power in bhp it would be somewhere in the region of 50 bhp!! Thanks to all for the positive comments too :)
is it harder to control this big helicopter outside or smaller (like honey bee), because this big one has more control but i think it is more sencetive than smaller ones. which one is harder to control?
@blueman841 , Hi, it took me about 1200 hours in total to build. It is quite stable but the size can be a bit intimidating. I do not fly it when its above force 4, as I am not comfortable. Thanks for your comments. Cheers. JJ
great post. love the size and detail of the model. How long did it take to make it? do you find it is more forgiving because it is so big that wind gusts do not effect it as much? Awesome flying skills BTW...
@Bonettxd Great heli!! But I was hoping to see it do a fast 80 to 100mph fly by...at 90 ft in the air!! then we can see what this big bird can really do..Can you post a video of fast forward flight of this heli? Id love to see it..
scale flying is nice. but flying 3d is also exciting. see Trex 500 FBL,Turnigy 40c Lipo, 3D heli, piro flip, tic tocs, funnel, inverted backward, flips, rolls
great flying mate and what a heli,a lot of these comments are from guys who don't know the difference from scale flying from there arses, well done mate and for those who can't post a positive comment, don't post nothing
That is an absolutely amazing machine. Many 'props' to the builder/pilot.
Nice looking Helicopter! Its not the typical plastic factory that you usually see
Can't get tired of watching this vid!! Awesome!!
What a beautiful RC Helicopter, one of the best I've ever seen, loved the spotlight and sound effects too :)
Awesome helicopter. Great flying. It looks so real.
It is necessary to have dreams in life, this one is mine. that is why I spend hours and hours on the Simulator. respect for the demonstration, very gracious and realistic flight
Awesome tools -- Beautiful flight, with a beautiful Helicopter ....
VERY BEAUTIFY SCALE MODEL. I HAVE SEEN THIS SCALE BEING FLOWN BY JOJO BONETT AND IT REALLY FLIES WELL. WELL DONE JOJO.
I am sure other people have said this, but I loved seeing the fixed-wing aircraft taxi by the helo.
Spectacular...thanks for posting your heli.
thanks for appreciating the work involved :)
JJ
Wow Jojo! What a great huge beautiful scale machine! Well done!
Perfect! Great scale flying ...
Beautiful model and great flying.
Very nice build model you got there. Amazing.

Lovely machine. well flown. Thanks for posting.
I know that a person with a helicopter like that hears "Cool Helicopter" all day everyday but I'll say it anyway. Cool Helicopter!
Beautiful Lama. nicely done
Keep it up Jojo! Nice flight as always!
best scale copter on youtube......nice one jo
wow...simply wow.. you should make versions to hold imax cameras and apache versions too. these would generate revenues from the film industry. you could then work with the mini-helicopters
Fantastic job well done great flight
Absolutely fantastic machine and flying! :)

DET är fantastiga bilder och körningar
That is a beauty! Can't think of anything more real ",)
Beautiful model, very impressive!!!
Amazingly beautifully detailed.

Very nice machine and beautiful scale piloting and nicely shot video! Thanks for posting...love it!
Wow! That's great!

nice vid, great choper.
have a ball flying it.
Excelente! Gostei muito pelo desempenho e dedicação de todos os pessoais da área de exibição de seus vídeos, parbéns pra todos!
Thanks. Although it is a fact that the larger the model the 'easier' it is to fly, one has not to forget that the bigger , the more intimidating it becomes, apart from the investment of both capital and time in the equation!!

Really cool man!
man u shld totally use the FPV setup on tht thing. thtd be soooo sick!!!
Lovely heli. Very nice indeed

OMG that man is huge
I get it!

Beautiful bird bro!!!
Truly a beast of a r.c helicopter. Looks fantastic. Great job flying it a true master.

agree +1
Oh god this thing is superb
Love it man!
Nice toy!
Hi Jojo, you supplied me with the pics of your build for my one. Looks great! Lee
Great helicopter, good flying skills but looks a bit scary for me.
that looks so real when its flying its brill bud well don
You're very close to your heli. Be aware ! But awesome scale model :O
@synthuser Thanks for your post, however please do keep in mind that, like myself a pilot flying such a model will fly it to his liking in that I enjoy flying my model at close proximity simply because I enjoy them better especially when I can hear, smell and feel (the heat) of the turbine's power!! :)

Excelente equipo y piloto. Vario Lama SA315B turbine rc helicopter-Jojo flying.
beauty, like a real thing...

good job...hi from AZERBAIJAN

what a beast!
good job!
Your model is simply beautiful! My only question is why you did not use 3-blade rotor.
she is pretty bro, what a bird, jojo, that shit hurt.
Cool toy.
You might want to consider the AUTO FOCUS function .... - but credit where its due - most of it was nice & clear...
is it harder to control this big helicopter outside or smaller (like honey bee), because this big one has more control but i think it is more sencetive than smaller ones. which one is harder to control?
@airnelson62 , This model is a two bladed with a flybar, so no need for any FBL system.
JJ
@blueman841 ,

the plot is great
looks great though!!
Freaking awsome! Teeeeeeeeeeeeerrriiiiiiiiifffiiiiiicc!!!
Very good scale heli, one question , how is the turbine connected to the power train .
thanks! :)
Jojo
great post. love the size and detail of the model. How long did it take to make it? do you find it is more forgiving because it is so big that wind gusts do not effect it as much? Awesome flying skills BTW...
thanks to all for acknowledging the work involved! Jojo
Lindo demais... Parabéns.
Such a pro
How does a turbine helicopter work? I'm really confused how the turbine starts to rev up but the blades don't spin until its really high.
@Bonettxd Great heli!! But I was hoping to see it do a fast 80 to 100mph fly by...at 90 ft in the air!! then we can see what this big bird can really do..Can you post a video of fast forward flight of this heli? Id love to see it..
Very Nice Heli!!!! Do you have any videos where you get more than 6-10" off the ground?
o yes forgot ... very nice aircraft
It's a scale heli. Meant for people who want to see their R/Cs look like the real thing.
Would that cost about $20,000 US Dollars? What causes the main rotor to rotate? Is it engine RPM or some button you push on your transmitter?
Very nice Helicopter - what length are those blades?
I would hate to be in way of those blades. Nice pilot controls.
scale flying is nice. but flying 3d is also exciting.
see Trex 500 FBL,Turnigy 40c Lipo, 3D heli, piro flip, tic tocs, funnel, inverted backward, flips, rolls
Very nice Vario lama. What are you using for the FBL system?
Futaba GY750 or Helicommand Rigid?
@JaleelJohanson62
WELL SAID!!
Thanks
Jojo
363 people are pissed off that they don't have one of these.
+CrazyHeliDude 392
I think you're right. lol.
we need onboard gopro footage from inside the cockpit!
GREAT!
nice...
Amazing ......
good helicopter
nice!
Hi.yes the sound and vision seem quite faithful, probably thanks to my Canon SX30 digital camera :)
@superbionicbatman
THANKS! :)
Larger helos are more stable, so that's part of the factor you're seeing.
why not my dog loves the view, just look it him up there he looks happy
great flying mate and what a heli,a lot of these comments are from guys who don't know the difference from scale flying from there arses, well done mate and for those who can't post a positive comment, don't post nothing
