@@MeNMyKickz1988 If they could really manifest what my imagination tells me something of that caliber should be? Then ring me up for 1200 bucks. I’ll gladly take TWO 😂😂
Bal D’afrique was a blind buy for me about a year ago, and imo is the best from this house. My local Nordstrom here in beautiful Silicon Valley started carrying this brand about a month ago, so I got to test them all. Yeah, Bal D’afrique is the best!
I’m totally blown away by 1996 by byredo and never hear people mention it.. i really wonder what you think of it. Its the most delicious sweet creamy almost nutella like boozy scent… its insanely beautiful
I want to say three things - Las Vegas's MGM Grand smells delightful as you enter. There's a bouquet of flowers. - Accord Oud is like stepping into a similar boquet or house of flowers. It smells delifghtfully earthy , exotic, organic and extremely friendly. - I just got Bal D'Afrique. I like it but I got some form of Covid so my smell senses are muted. Today however I sprayed it and somewhat my senses have restored and I think I like it. I still think Accord Oud is better though. I will update. Thank you for your recommendations.
I first fell in love with Bal D'Afrique but I smelled Blanche and love the soapy and fresh feeling. I got the bottle of Blanche but will definitely get a bottle of BDA.
Bal D Afriique is truly beautiful , I am presently on my third bottle 🙃, 2nd place Mojave Ghost, 3rd Sundazed , 4th Gypsy Water - 5th TBC - though Tobacco Mandarin has piqued my interest 🤔 - I did blind buy Mixed Emotions but I really found it hard work so I returned it 😵💫 - Happy New Year Sebastian and all others too 🎉
I love 1996 and Bibliotheque. Mixed Emotions, Black Saffron, and Rose of No Man's Land are also great. I find Black Saffron reminds me of Tom Ford's Black Violet, but a fresher version and Black Violet has smoke in it which I do not get in Black Saffron.
Pulp is an amazing fruity scent and for me one of the best Byredo creations, next to Gypsy water but the really best Byredo one is Rose of no man's land. Can be worn by men as well but needs a bit of getting used to it 🙂
Great list, I agree with you top 2, velvet Haze and Bal D’afrique. I also love the freshness of Blanche and the woodiness of Oud Imortell. But my new favorite is Slow Dance!
I have only smelled a handful of Byredo. The best for me out of those I've smelled was Bibliotheque but even that one wasn't full bottle worthy for me.
I’ve smelled only Mojave Ghost (decant), Gypsy Water (full bottle), and Bal D’Afrique (decant), and they certainly are light. I do not feel that they are worthy of the price they charge…I think Commodity puts out stronger (and better) offerings at a fraction of the price.
Sabastian i have come to really like your reviews....You no why? Your very very smart when it comes to Fragrances!!! You explain things very very well...Today in the Rocky Montana of Montana it is currently 15 below zero this morning...Brrrrr the coldest temp of the season so far....
I have not smell all of them but I love Blanche. Actually could you do a video about your favourite soapy clean parfumes that smell like Marsiglia soap?
My top 3 that I own 3. Mojave Ghost 2. 1996 1. Velvet Haze 🤤 I’ve smelled Bal D’ Afrique in store and it was amazing, definitely on my list along with bibliotheque. Loved the video, btw.
I agree, Bal d'Afrique is a lovely fragrance. But my fave is Eleventh Hour - the type of EDP I could never be without. Will have to try to get a sample of Accord Oud, which sounds great.
I'm a byredo fan. I was a bit intimidated at first by the prices and bought some body products first but finally purchased a perfume. Black Saffron Bibliotheque and Bal d'afrique are amazing. Mixed emotions and Mumbai noise are wonderful too.
This was interesting. I have not loved Byredo but today I put on Bibliothèque and Bal d'Afrique, just to revisit them. I absolutely love Bibliothèque but it doesn't have any longevity. It is almost a skin scent on me, which is too bad. I have to reapply to have it be my scent for the day. For some reason, the Bal d'Afrique doesn't smell wonderful on me -- almost seems like aftershave as it wears off. I have only tried a half dozen or so of these, so I am unfamiliar with most of your list. I want to love it as we have three Byredo boutiques in the L.A. area.
Ah Velvet Haze! Yes I like it and have a full bottle of it. I like the fact that it isn't that popular and that makes it more special to wear I think. What about: BYERDO and Oliver Peoples. I liked that fragrance oh so much!
B'al dalafrique... I do have a large sample of Rose of no man's land. I hardly touch becuase it didn't come with spray nozzle. Miniature bottle is so cute.
I really enjoy your way of explaining how fragrances smell! Me and my wife have smelled and owned a few Byredos. Most of them come of quite light and don't last more than 2-3 hours on us. My favourite is Oud Immortel and my wife's is Rose Of No Mans Land. They give you that feeling of smelling great confidence.
Oddly here in Indonesia, tropical weather, they have amazing longevity, BdA and Mojave Ghost are like 10-12 hours staying on myself, Pulp is just like a beast.
I bought Bal D'afrique and really disliked it the first two times I tried it. A few months later I tried it again and now cannot get over how much I love it. So strange!. I recently bought samples of 12 Byredo perfumes from a decanter. I can't wait to try some of the others.
Great review and Happy New Year! Bal D Afriique is my no. 1 from Byredo as well! Would love to hear your thoughts on Bibliotheque, Gypsy Water and Mojave Ghost!
Great video and I enjoyed it and the only fragrance I tried from this brand is Slow Dance and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed day
Absolutely love every single fragrance from this house. BDA , sun dazed and and Black Saffron are my faves. The only one I hate is Tobacco Mandarin. It made me feel physically ill. 😩 I also wished there was more longevity but perhaps that’s not possible given how light and airy they are!
I am not a big fan of the look of the perfume bottles, so I needed a while to be cuious enough to order a sample of Bal d´afrique... I am now a fan of it. It is very suitable as an gentle perfume to wear as an office fragrance and I think it is unisex, but is good for men to wear. Creamy, a little bit fruity, and a little bit woody. The vertiver is not very present for me. I really do like it.
Seven Veils, Bibliotheque, Elevator Music and 1996 are interesting fragrances. Some would say that Seven Veils is too sweet and floral but it's a beautiful fragrance nevertheless.
I have the same reaction with mixed emotions..I didn’t like it at first but there’s something in it that I keep coming back sniffing. Now I now enjoyed wearing it. The others I enjoy is bibliotheque, inflourescence, eleventh hour, unnamed, pulp and sundazed.
Thank you Sebastian for great reviews but I just want to ask you about Rose of no man’s land? What you think about that 🤔And also please do review Juliette has a Gun luxury collection, please, please, please😍
I love Reine de Nuit and Gypsy Water and Mixed Emotions. But it isn’t a house I’m that in love with. Unnamed sounds great. M/Mink …I know what you mean…sometimes beautiful and then there are those days when it smells yucky. Interesting concoction.
At the end of last year I got a sample of Bal D’Afrique. I don’t know what note it is or what does it has this perfume but it’s in my memory. Like I’m in my desk working and suddenly I remember the smell of BA and want to use it right away.
For some reason I think I got a rancid sample of Pulp, everyone talks about the fruitiness of it but all I could smell was overwhelming bell pepper, black pepper, and smoke? My favorites are bal dafrique, Sunday cologne, eleventh hour, and gypsy water. :) I wanted to love velvet haze and understand the appeal but for me it just smelled like a sporting goods store...
No that’s the way it smells to me. But seasonally changes. Sometimes I smell rotting fruit sometimes very camphoric bitter green with light fruity Apples!! 😀
Need to try this brand, for me Tobacco Mandarin, Mumbai Noize and Bal D'afrique are the ones that I will try. Happy New Year Sebastian, thank you for all the reviews, interviews and knowledge that you share with us, wish you the best for 2022!!!
Blanche has DNA of Sunlight brand powdered laundry detergent! Exactly the same. It's piercing and horrible as a perfume to me. I used that detergent for years, and when I opened the box, I often sneezed. No perfumer as it is Sunlight from whenever that scent was created.

The reason why fragrances smell inconsistent is separation. Yes we can't shake fragrances but we can gently rotate and spin them. Game changer
A Bal D’afrique extrait version, done correctly, would crush the industry!
That jawn would cost 600 bucks 🤣
@@MeNMyKickz1988 If they could really manifest what my imagination tells me something of that caliber should be? Then ring me up for 1200 bucks. I’ll gladly take TWO 😂😂
Their extraits are $330 for the 1.6 oz. They just need to make it but they never upgrade a fragrance.
I have the rollerball oil of it. Its amazing
Already done. It’s called Contralto by Sospiro.

Velvet Haze is SO underrated when it comes to this house. Everyone always talks about the others but Velvet Haze is my #1 for sure
exactly thats number 1 for me
is it more for females?
Yes@@running4406
Great list need to try more Byredos but shocked to not see Gypsy Water make the list!
Love byredo! My top 5 are Mojave ghost, bal d’afrique, rose of no man’s land, young rose and inflorescence

My favorites from Byredo are Mojave ghost & Gypsy water 🔥🔥🔥
The Gypsy Water & Mohave Ghost body wash are yummy too.
I absolutely love Black Saffron. I get so many compliments on it and it wears well on me. I want to try others from this House .
Bal D Afriique is truly beautiful , I am presently on my third bottle 🙃, 2nd place Mojave Ghost, 3rd Sundazed , 4th Gypsy Water - 5th TBC - though Tobacco Mandarin has piqued my interest 🤔 - I did blind buy Mixed Emotions but I really found it hard work so I returned it 😵💫 - Happy New Year Sebastian and all others too 🎉
Agree with you about Mixed Emotions. My emotions aren’t mixed at all, it’s just no 😬
@@mizpah1993 😂, indeed , there was no hesitation on packing it back in its box and no moment of “ lets try that again” 🤭

2:Bullion
3:Super Cedar

1996 is so underrated. Not a lot of people that are familiar with it and almost can be masculine leaning for some but is such a unique scent.
Pulp is an amazing fruity scent and for me one of the best Byredo creations, next to Gypsy water but the really best Byredo one is Rose of no man's land. Can be worn by men as well but needs a bit of getting used to it 🙂
3. Rose Noir, 2. Oud Immortel, and 1. Encens Chembur. Honorable mention goes to Baudelaire.
Ball d'Afric is beautifull.
I also like "Rose of no man's land"
My favorites are Mojave Ghost, Mumbai Noise, Gypsy Water, Young Rose, and black saffron.
Waiting for you!!!! Yes yes yes.
Great list, I agree with you top 2, velvet Haze and Bal D’afrique. I also love the freshness of Blanche and the woodiness of Oud Imortell. But my new favorite is Slow Dance!
My top 3 are Bal D Afrique, Sundazed, and 1996. I really loved gypsy water and mumbai noise.
Its for men or women ?
Bought Slow Dance and it’s a pretty good experience! Not an everyday fragrance but definitely give it a try! Another one created by Jérôme Epinette😅
Happy New Year! I have three from the brand and I would rank them: 🌟1. Gypsy Water
2. Accord Oud
3. Eleventh Hour
Performance on accord?
@@AbdulAzizAlkendi Very good. More than eight hours.
You're the only reliable nose I trust. Your ability to translate the scent and vibe lets me smell it through the screen.
I have only smelled a handful of Byredo. The best for me out of those I've smelled was Bibliotheque but even that one wasn't full bottle worthy for me.
This is my favorite, indeed my signature at this point. I’m on bottle #2, with a backup waiting patiently.
@@cynthialawson364 I don't have a signature scent, but I agree with you about Bibliothèque. I adore that scent in the Fall.

Heliotropia is one of their best. I bought in NY Soho- but it was made for Liberty of London. No one ever discusses this one.

Rose of No Man's Land

4. Velvet haze
5. 1996
6. Elevator music
7. Mister marvelous
I have Animalique, Bal D Afrique, Slow dance, and Casablanca Lily loved them
Bibliotheque and Eleventh Hour are the standout from Byredo.
Bibliotheque was just a candle and they turned it into a fragrance due to its popularity.
I just ordered Eleventh Hour I heard it smelled like Apple Pie
B'al dalafrique... I do have a large sample of Rose of no man's land. I hardly touch becuase it didn't come with spray nozzle. Miniature bottle is so cute.
