Me too! When I first saw your channel, I didn't know other booktube channels ever existed, so I watched most of your videos, then I was like, can there possibly be something called booktube?? So from then on....
To make sure you get the edition you want on Thriftbooks, you click on see all editions of whatever book you are looking at and choose which one you want. It is under the buttons that say like new, very good, good, etc. I figured that one out after a similar situation happened to me. I wanted a specific cover of To Kill a Mockingbird but got a completely different cover. Thank you for all of the videos you do!
Your copy of Moxie is from Canada, it has the Indigo pick of the month sticker on it and as we all know, Hailey from Hailey in Bookland works at Chapters Indigo lol
Challenger Deep changed my perspective on what books can do. It is an amazing read, and I think going in blind is honestly one of the best ways to go. It is a book about mental health, and it asks you to fully embrace the character's two realities. I can't say much more without giving away the plot, but it's an amazing book.
Unfortunately I'm European and I can't attend any of those conventions but I look forward to the "read-along" mostly because I wasn't really interested in the books a few weeks ago.. maybe this will hype me up
Have a great time at bookcon & book expo! I went last year & met you in line, and you were the absolute sweetest. It was so great to meet you. Have a great panel! 🌿💕
In college I majored in History and English and so for my senior capstone project, I had to read a book and discuss it's historical context and significance as well as it's literary elements and I chose The House of The Spirits. It as well as Isabel Allende have a very special place in my heart so I got SO excited when I saw you had it!
I’ve ordered from Thrift books multiple times. Four of the five times exceeded my expectation for used books. When I ordered The Night Circus though it came with the first page torn out leaving the cover hole to show the text in the middle. So I rebought it and gave that edition to my work’s library. It’s never on the shelf, so at least I got to share a good book.
I'm working during BookCon 😭 BUT I did get my BEA badge!! 😁 Can't wait. It'll be my first year going. I also just picked up Ember in the Ashes and Torch Against the Night so I could see what the hype was about so I'd love to join your readalong! What perfect timing!
I picked up Challenger Deep without knowing anything about it and love it. It’s so well written and because I wasn’t expecting it, it’s really stuck with me. I rarely re-read books anymore but this is one I would go back to. Hope you enjoy it
I'm just starting An Ember in the Ashes for the first time and I'm about 100 pages in. I absolutely love it so far. I picked up the first 2 books at my local bookstore, and I may have already pre-ordered the 3rd one. :)
I actually just started my reread of the Ember in the Ashes series so the timing of this video couldn't be more perfect! I'm listening to the audiobooks this time around and I'm loving it, can A Reaper at the Gates be here already please???
An ember in the ashes sounds soooo cool. I am totally in love with the covers! 😍 i love your lights in the background by the way.. so cosy! As a booktube newbie i wish my background was so pretty! 😊 I totally subscribed to you! ❤️
I'm rereading An Ember in the Ashes series over again and thanks to my wonderful library already having copies on order I also have a hold on A Reaper at the Gates. I can't wait to get my hands on it!!
Oooh I LOVE Moxie! I felt like I wanted to buy it and distribute it because it’s something every girl and every mom should read! It’s such an inspiring and motivational book.
Monstress is awesome! I've only read the first volume but I think this is a series you'll stick with after you read the ending. I plan on reading Ember in the Ashes someday (been in my TBR for years) but I have six library books checked out. 😂
I wish I could go to bookcon and bookexpo 😭 one day one day. And you need to read the archived next, it’s one of my favorites and I just love it so much and I want people to read it so please do and tell me all about it. Love your videos as usual, you are awesome Hannah ❤️
Yeah our school uniform was insane. I did an incredible amount of stuff to get it changed (we couldn’t have white scarves but we were allowed black or navy... just over the top stuff like that!)
Challenger Deep was so good!! I read it as an audiobook. The person who read it was really good. He did voices that really made it so good!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts
My copy of The House of the Spirits just arrived today in the morning. I already have its prequel, Daughter of Fortune. Really excited (ha ha!) to read it although I won't be able to do that before July. Also The Shadow of the Wind is one of my favourite books too! Loved The Angel's Game, it's sequel, also. A lot of books in this haul have been on my wishlist for so so long! I will get all eventually once I am done with reading the sprawling mess that my TBR is right now.
I just finished reading The Astonishing Color of After and it is honestly one of my favorite books of all time, and your vlog is actually what convinced me to give it a shot even when the premise was a bit strange, so thank you so much for that! I'm actually just starting The Night Circus and um, possibly another fave??? Like wow.
I have read The Lonely Hearts Hotel and if you intend on reading it, be warned that it is a lot heavier than it seems. I did love it but there’s a lot of difficult stuff in it.
Yay! Super excited you get to be at a panel at BookCon! :D I want to attend the meet and greet, but it'll be my first time doing so... lowkey nervous lol :x but I definitely want to meet more bookish people
I am sooo happy that you have The House of the Spirits! It is definitely one of my favorite books ever🤗 it reminds me of The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender, but it’s way better in my opinion. I recommend Island Beneath the Sea by Isabel Allende as well❤️
I’m currently listening to the audiobook of Turtles all the way Down and even the main character sounds like you!! So I can’t help but picture you for Aza.
Okay. I literally audibly GASPED when I saw you hold up “Vincent and Theo” bc I love that book SOOOOOOOOOO friggin much. It is seriously SOOO amazing, I’ve talked about it so many times on my channel and I really really hope you love it!!! And it’s not entirely non fiction:)))
Because of this video I ordered An Ember in the Ashes and A Torch Against the Night and started reading the series, even though I should be studying for my finals
aweee i love you so much!! i picked up ember a month ago and got 250 pages in, then put it down. i don’t think i was giving it all the attention i wanted to (and i wasn’t getting into it) so i dnfed it for a bit. BUT i’m gonna pick it back up for this read along and i’m PUMPED
I'm going to definitely try to do the read-along! I thought I owned An Ember n the Ashes, but apparently not. I do have an ARC of A Torch Against the Night....so there's that. Now I just hope someone returns a copy of the first book to the library so I can participate!
The Lonely Hearts Hotel is nothing like The Night Circus in my opinion. It is absolutely brilliant an devastating and romantic and dark and one of my favourite books of the last couple years but I think it's VERY different than The Night Circus - just wanted to give you a heads up!
I'm so excited for you and the opportunities you're receiving! I can't think of anyone that deserves it more! I've been watching your videos for almost a year now and you've inspired me a lot with my own channel. I just uploaded a book haul as well where I talk a little bit about you 😊
I read (listened to on audio) The Lonely Hearts Hotel. The story follows two of the orphans throughout the lives, and its a wonderful story about love and greed, about the desperate things that people did to survive during the depression..it was interesting to hear how that effected the economy in Montreal as well. This story was so beautiful and just about broke my heart. I really think you'll.love it.
I love watching book hauls, especially when I have similar taste to the book tuber! I always get book recommendations Edit: The Night Circus is one of my favourites so The Lonely Hearts Hotel sounds good!
The Lonely Hearts Hotel is amazing. But I hate when people compare it to the Night Circus - because you go in thinking one thing, and get another. The only commonality is a circus. Hahahahaha. There’s no magic - except ONeills writing. I just like to let people know. I guess the love aspects are similar too. But they’re totally different books. I wouldn’t personally liken them. lonely hearts hotel is a gritty look at 1920s Montreal and follows two orphans, who are torn apart by circumstance. It’s about their love and their lives. It’s very dark, unforgiving and blunt - but beautiful. Heather O’Neill is one of my favourite - if not, my favourite - authors. And both books are in my top 10 favs. And both writers are amazing. But I think comparing it to the night circus does the book a disservice. It’s not even magical realism, really. There are things the feel magical, but no magic. At most it’s similar in that it’s atmospheric and involves a circus in some capacity. I just want you to know what you’re getting into so you can enjoy it fully! Or not. Whichever. Hahaa
i literally love thriftbooks, i get all my books there if not amazon, they usually always send the book cover that you ordered so maybe it was an accident, i’ve been thinking about trying book outlet and since you mentioned it in this video i’ll definitely give it a try!
I JUST finished The Archived and The Unbound and OMG they are so great! So original and intriguing and incredible! Seriously, Victoria Schwab can do no wrong.
it's gonna be my first time at bookcon (even though i'm a new yorker lol) hopefully i get to go to the panel! i heard the whole convention is super crowded

the lonely hearts hotel was amazing. it was really well written and I loved the characters so much. it was beautiful and tragic.

Girl of Fire and Thorns is great! I was so surprised by it.
i hope you enjoy the archived i know its probably the most underrated of her books but its my favourite from her so far!
Make sure you read the darkest minds novellas! They add a bunch to the story, and are super emotional.
I'm rereading An Ember in the Ashes series over again and thanks to my wonderful library already having copies on order I also have a hold on A Reaper at the Gates. I can't wait to get my hands on it!!
