Buying a movie you've seen twice and disliked is strange to me.
Same pretty dumb
He's a hoarder
@hunterdean4766 seems like he doesn't have a lot of room but he's buying crappy 2000s comedies.
cause it was only a dollar?
@RandallStevenson even for a $1, I'd rather save my space on the shelves for something I actually want. Space comes at a premium for a collector
Not really a jackpot. Anyway, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Just the simple fact that I found that many Blurays made it a jackpot for me. And there was some good films in there.
Looks like a GREAT week for us budget ballahs!!!!! I had a strong week at my library as well.......
I saw "9" at the theater, my memory of it is it's a dark film (too scary for little children) and it lacked plot but had engrossing visuals.
Hey Ken I dont say it enough, your content is great! Also you walking by your car while recording...comedy gold! :))
Thank you Dustin.
My Uncle worked on the some of the designs on Stargate!
WTF. All the Goodwill locations in my county are $4 for DVDs and $5 for blu-ray. 99 cents is wild. 😂
What my closer Goodwill DVDs are $1.99 and Blu-rays are $2.99!🤑
Are you in Canada? Cause those are the prices I see when I go to thrift stores. Last time I went, the blurays went up to $4.99 😞
I’m very fortunate I guess then.
@sublind4225 I'm in Canada and it is 3.99, doesn't matter if it's blu ray or dvd
Nine is definitely a decent animated movie. I only watched it once quit a long time ago but i definitely liked it. It was something different. Definitely worth a watch. The A-Team is a lot of fun too. The guy who plays Murdock is great. Good casting for all four members of the A-Team. The Sherlock Holmes movies are good fun also.
Sharlito Copley? LMAO
The guy from Hardcore Henry? 🤷♂️
@@midlevelmedia His name is Sharlto, not Sharlito
Dinner for Schmucks is based on a much better French movie called "The Dinner Game" or "Le Diner de Cons". See that one if you can because it's really good and you'll probably appreciate Dinner for Schmucks a little more
Eat,sleep,goodwill ! 😂👍
The only blu-ray I wanted at my Goodwill had both discs missing. LOL
I’ve had that happen as well.
Sounds like my Goodwill........
It's people that want it cheaper still lol!🤑
The tv reflects the comments. My Goodwill smells musty as hell so, I steer clear. Nice haul though!
I am glad you picked up 9. That’s actually a pretty great little movie. Also, Stargate is awesome. That would be a day 1 purchase for me if it comes to 4K. I would love to see Arrow do a limited box for that.
Sir... Where is the jackpot?
The jackpot is for him because he doesn't have the movies, and it only costs him 1 dollar.
Dinner for Schmucks is great! I'll take it if you don't want it.
I remember Hearts War having some disturbing moments in it. Not an easy watch.
I worked at blockbuster when it came out & you just said what every customer said...that rented it
I’ve gotta see 9!
passing up the despecialized version of The Empire Strikes Back... ooft
Looked like the same DVDs I had back in the day and those were the special editions. 🤷♂️
It was a limited edition in '06 by petition. The theatrical cuts are mastered from the last laser disc release
Yeah, but DVDs look like trash now.
I just found welcome to moose port it was a blind buy. 9 is enjoyable for a buck you can’t go wrong. Star gate is pretty good surprised they haven’t tried to reboot it yet. Good haul
That is awesome. I’ve noticed that different goodwills in different states have different prices. For instance I’m in Florida and it’s a dollar for DVDs and 3 dollars for blu rays flat. I visited Georgia and they have a variety of different prices for each dvd and blu ray. I have no clue how they set their prices but that is strange. And you got yours even cheaper so it’s priced differently from state to state.
So you buy movies that you don’t like? Even for $1 why buy something just to never touch it again?
I said I intend to rewatch.
It's always cool to find things you like at a Goodwill. My local GW just has empty cases if they even have blu rays at all. I am a fairly new viewer to your channel but I appreciate what you are doing. The fact that you are getting haters creating new accounts just to bitch shows that you are doing something right.
About 2009 Night at The Museum, that you got, is the second one, with Amy Adams in. 2014's Night at The Museum 3 is Secret of The Tomb, that has Rebel Wilson, in.
Emmerich directed five feature films before Stargate; but Stargate was for sure the film that made him internationally known. He‘s a German filmmaker, shooting his first features locally. Greetings from Germany: Chris
Nah universal soldier was a big movie and van damme was at peak of his stardom
The Star Trek one you saw, the special edition, that’s definitely worth the pickup. I got it Thanksgiving that year it came out and it’s a banger! You don’t have to know anything about Trek to watch it, it’s kind of an alternate timeline and, as a hardcore Trek fan, it’s definitely worth the pickup!
I actually have it already or I would have grabbed it.
@@midlevelmedia nice! You absolutely hit the jackpot at Goodwill. Keep up the great work and I always tell my friends to check your videos out!
Stargate is definitely one of the best of the haul. It definitely NEEDS a 4k release. The one you picked up is the first transfer that wasn't great, but they did another transfer a year or two later which is much better.
I recommend 9 to everybody. Love that movie.
Awesome pick-ups good showing and cool video Ken!👉🙂👈
Damn I miss the "Weekly Special" DVD/Blu Ray drops @ Dollar Tree
Same
I don't want to brag, but my local thrift had .25 cent blu-rays this week and I got a Kino Lorber copy of "Reap the Wild Wind." Yikes, I thought that Stargate movie was terrible.....a great premise, but bad acting, no excitement and no point to the ending (I haven't seen much of the stargate series but anything has to be better than that movie). Robin Williams made it into all 3 museum movies - they are fun, goofy family Disney-type flicks with great cameos from Dick van Dyke, etc.
9 is awesome! One of my favorites
I LOVE Dinner for Schmucks!!! His rival kills me.
My Goodwill doesn't have a lot either in terms of blu-rays but the last Friday of each month is their 50% off on all sale items and found 1 4K Blu-ray and 28 Blu-rays and that to that point was the only blu-rays I bought in April 2024.
I’ve yet to find a 4K in my store yet.
@@midlevelmedia I have found about 30 or so.
I love Stargate and love Sg-1, it's my favorite show of all-time. It really needs a 4k steelbook treatment t for the movie it's been 30 years!
Pretty misleading title for the video here.
How exactly? I never find Blurays at the Goodwill and I found 30 here. That’s a jackpot for me and my location.
@@midlevelmedia I now appreciate that this was a jackpot for you. But these are very mainstream releases. From the title of the video, I was expecting that you'd found boutique labels or otherwise rare releases that one hardly ever finds at a Goodwill. So this felt clickbait-y and I was a bit irked. If that wasn't your intention, then I apologize.
@@r1133 It was not. If I found boutiques or OOP titles, then that would have been in the title.
Dinner For Schmucks is hilarious!
Hey Ken I got the Blu-ray of jack and Jill for £1 and I despised that film. I’m the same in terms of I will one day give it a watch again. You’re not the only one. You never have to explain yourself it’s your choice what you want, f the haters big up and keep the great content up my friend
I wish I had that Stargate. I think they go for $30.
9 on bluray is a win. So fun.....but also pretty dark and creepy, use judgement with small children. I have Stargate on Bluray but it's the Via Vision Entertainment release which is really nice. I prefer the theatrical to the extended cut for Stargate for one very specific reason which I won't share cuz spoilers. Good haul. 9 and Stargate are the highlights for my tastes. Enjoy.
Stargate would be a hard pass for me. All of the Lionsgate movies made/released in 2006-2007 with the silver foil spines are failing. I've had First Blood, American Psycho, Reservoir Dogs that have all failed on me in the past couple of years and won't play or skip terribly.
I got the Via Vision Entertainment version which came out last year. It's an import but it's region free. I did not get it for 99 cents but otherwise it's a nice blu ray.
Love 9, very dark so not one to watch with the kids.. I don't think it has a 4k because I would have bought it if it had, not here in the UK anyways
I bought lots of blu rays at goodwill. Nothing I kept in my collection. However, I did. Switch the hard shell cases that were not the Eco. Friendly ones which I absolutely can't stand and then I sell them off.
Leaving one of my old movies with a good case
Ken is right on both counts. Mooseport is DVD only, and Shmucks is a piece of doggie doo-doo.
(Higher prices for Tron 3D BD go from 60 to 80 bucks.)
Harts War was good btw.
Enjoyed the video! Good haul!
At my goodwill. I picked up Hellraiser the Scarlett Box Brand New
Luckily I find bluray's all the time at my Goodwill and what I love is the occasional 4k. I got eight 4ks the other day for $2.99 each. Most were Marvel but 4k for $2.99 so I picked them up.
That’s a good haul, especially considering the price you paid. I think you’ll like The A Team, it’s over the top ridiculous in a good way. As for 3D, I think the home market killed it because 3D just looks terrible on small TVs. You can still find 3D projectors, and Tron Legacy looks fantastic in 3D on a 100+ inch screen.
Dinner for Schmucks is awesome lmao
My local Goodwill has a small bin for DVD/Blu-Ray, not shelves. Never find much there.
ATeam is a fun popcorn movie for sure
Hope so
Loved 9.
My jealousy of .99 blurays is running deep. And, they had a Sherlock Holmes. I still need that one and it has continue to elude me.
Welcome to moose port is decent
I go hunting and got cheap bargains, $1-2 preowned blurays "Suckerpunch"!! for $2 Awsome DTS HD sound , Oliver Stone "Savages", "Good day Die Hard" Bruce Wilis, Smoking Aces", "Lone Survivor" just name few.
9.50 wow the geographical pricing is unreal. In Connecticut all of the Goodwills around me usually have 3 blurays on the shelves at each one IF you can find any and now the blurays are $5 a piece
Torn Legacy and Tron Classic is a 5-disc set, sells for m ore than the individual releases
Ken, you just click baited me! 😅 I thought you found a bunch of rare OoP Blu-rays...
Stargate is a great movie which i saw in theaters way back when it was released theatrically. Now rumors suggest that Stargate is getting a 4k release soon. So hopefully that will become reality because i would buy that in a heartbeat !
Click baited. 🤦♂️
100% click bait.
You paid $9.50 for 9 Blue ridge I'm sorry but what state where I live the goodwills have the Blu-rays at 499
I have heard the price fluctuates from state to state. This particular location used to be $2.99
Here they're $2.99!🤑
Love stargate both the movie and Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis
It's the 30th anniversary of the movie this year and I was hoping for a 4K release
Digital copy used to be on a DVD that you would rip to your computer to put on your iPod lol
Strange
Dude, you slept on that Empire Strikes Back dvd?? That edition has the theatrical cut on disc 2!
Damn. Need to go back then. Had no idea
@midlevelmedia do it! Hopefully it's still there. The theatrical cuts were only ever released on those "limited editions" dvds in like 2007 or so.
Dude go to traders world in Ohio. It's a flea market. It's huge place. But there's a room in there bldg #5. It has thousands of Blu rays, 4 ks, DVDs. All I great price. I got 8 Blu Rays and 2 4 ks for all together $40. I go there from now on for my collecting
You might as well watch Dinner for Schmucks RIGHT now. If you end up disliking it still then make a video of you taking it to goodwill lol
I went to good will other day but I couldn't find anything I liked. Maybe next time I will.
I love 9, I wish I still had my DVD
Our local Goodwill closed years ago but it never had much as far as movies. 5:04 Why are you buying movies you don't like Ken? Lol
About 2 years ago I picked up about 40 blu rays at goodwill.Never happen again
I have a little collection of movies maybe around 200 to 250 movies and recently I threw like 30 movies in the trash I realize I'm just going to buy movies I love only.
Stargate and 9 are really good movies! But why are your goodwill blurays so cheap! Mine are $3.50!
I’m lucky in my area I guess? They used to be $2 a few years back. I would have only got a couple if they were that high. Lol
I'm always scared of getting a bedbug or roach eggs in something from places like that.
Ohhh I’ve seen some like that before. lol… But these were pretty damn clean.
Hey Ken. Cool haul. Welcome to Mooseport is a funny movie. I’ve watched it a few times. Gene Hackman is really good. It needs to get a 4K/blu ray upgrade.
Filmed in Brampton, Ontario!
Heart lake represent 💪
Dang, my Goodwill charges $10 per blu-ray!
9 Does not have a 4K. It is an excellent film. And for those that have capable subwoofers, a fun ride.
Hart's war is a really good movie.
Stargate is a great movie. It definitely needs a 4k.
I knew you got Welcome to Mooseport. And there is no blu-ray yet.
Good find I thought.
@@midlevelmedia yup
People change, and looking at something with new eyes you might actually like it.
I wasn't in love with the first Hulk movie, but I bought the 4k version because it was dirt cheap. And I actually liked it.
This doesnt apply to Captain Marvel, that one will never be any good
Do yourself a favor and watch "Le Diner de cons", which is the French classic comedy Dinner With Schmucks is based on. No comparison there, Dinner With Schmucks is a disgrace to the original source material. So i would switch to the French classic as soon as you can 😊
You bought a lot of shit there! Don't think I'd have bought any of those, only one I own is the limited edition of 9.
9 is good one.
Din for schmucks is dumb fun film imo, Harts War is pretty good, that film was actually Jonathan Brandis` final film I believe before he committed suicide. Stargate is fantastic, i`ve got a blu steelbook of it
My goodwill charges $3 each
Only 99 cents!? Every single Goodwill within 200 miles of me the blu rays are like $3 or $4
Stargate is coming to 4k in 2024 - says Roland
5:40 . You're a smart guy, but buying a movie you've seen twice and HATE is a bizarre thing to do unless it was just so you could show it to us and say you hate it... You are odd sometimes!
The A-Team is one of the most underrated action films of its time. Watch the Theatrical cut, superior
Wow 3 movie's that i have too this time. Sherlock Holmes i have as 2 disc SE DVD steelbook, 9 as metalpack Bluray (Include also 9 rating of the movie) and The A-team as BD/DVD. BD has easteregg (Only avaible if you player is on English, French or Italian and only with those subs) not avaible on DVD,insteed on dvd you get audiocommentary (Who is avaible with Dutch subs too whyle easteregg on Bluray is not.) who is not avaible on Bluray. Shame there never making another A-team movie. When i watched it i only have seen Sharlto Copley (Murdock) in District 9, he also starring in Chappie. I never expect to have any Guy Ritchie movie in my collection, but his two Sherlock Holmes movies change that and i have 5 on this moment (Man From Uncle on BD, Snatch on BD and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels on 2 disc SE dvd) and i stil whant Aladdin (2019).
“I hit the Goodwill Jackpot!!!” Shows off a bunch of crap movies..
Idiot
@@SaladMan-ju7jt Idiot
@@midlevelmedia Wow, calling your channel viewers idiots. Not a good look.
@@donsimpsonshead8809 So because you view my videos, which I’m appreciative of, I have to tolerate your shitty comments? Is that how the content creator/subscriber relationship works to you? Doesn’t seem right to me.
@@midlevelmedia I’ve never called you an idiot or disparaged you. I really like most of your videos. You just way oversold it. Others pointed that out too.
You passed over “Heaven is for Real” on blu ray.
Great account of a boy who claimed to visit heaven when he was pronounced dead for a short time.
I definitely recommend it.
Maybe you already have it Ken is why you didn’t pick it up?
9 was great!!!!!!!!!!!good stoner movie1
Goodwill in my area is dog shit lol
Cry baby on the tv ❤
I don't understand WHY in 2024 people still buy DVDs. Unless you're watching movies on a old, crappy 28" TV, there is no point. BD still look descent on 65" but when your TV can display 4Ks, there is no turning back to previous gen media. Only reason why I keep my DVDs & BDs is because they are not available in 4K or the 4K doesn't worth it or it cost too much, like the newly "La femme Nikita" steelbook at 70$ Canadian with only the 4K, no BD and "0" bonus.
My DVDs and BDs are in mint condition and I'm selling them right now on Facebook marketplace since I replace them by 4Ks. I wouldn't be surprise, someone in my situation got rid of them at the goodwill instead of selling them, hence how you could buy them for 1$ each.
F the haters your vidoes are great!!!! One of the best!!!
