Is the 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge the GREATEST Muscle Car EVER? - Raiti's Rides

  • The 1970s was the pinnacle of the Muscle Car era. One of the baddest street machines is this 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge. This is the most outrageous Pontiac rolling our of dealer showroom floors. Check out what makes this car so special!

Wonderful and thoughtful review, the history tid bits with John Delorean to all the fine details of the Le Mans to the show the Judge which the car is nicknamed after... you do such a great job Joe. I’m really impressed with your vast knowledge and genuine talent for presenting in front of a camera. Love it! Would love to see these cars make a come back!

Raiti, Raiti, Raiti...the front endura bumper is closed cell urethane, not fiberglass. Those are Year One reproduction wheels and not true Pontiac Rally II wheels found on Pontiacs of the day as you described. I love these wheels and thought about them for a potential build myself. My father in law has a dozen or so classic GTOs, including a ‘70 Orbit Orange Judge not unlike you are reviewing. He and I have talked about GTOs for the past 20 years. This is a Great car! Enjoy your review and thanks for sharing it with us. Please don’t take me for a hater, just trying to help you out.

willjam465 no problem I always invite clarification. I really want Raiti’s Rides to be a community where we all share not only the passion for cars but also the info. I’m so glad you like this car review. Muscle cars don’t often get many views with my subscribers but I like to still bring in the variety. What’s funny was after I shit the video I knew I tripped on my thoughts about the urethane front end. Thanks for the support!😊👍🏻

You're right. Those Rally 2 wheels are not the original. The original trim rings were chrome, and they came off. These look like brushed aluminum and are part of the wheel. Although whoever makes those did a great job.

My buddy bought a 1970 GTO project car, and front clip was removed by previous owner. I loaded the endura bumper, and was surprised how heavy it was. The endura is covering a steel bumper, and the 1970 GTO has a fairly large bumper

All the GM A-Body muscle car from 1968-1972 were probably one of the most iconic. They were:
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6 V-8 with Cowl Induction
1970 Pontiac GTO Judge 455 Super Duty V-8 with Ram Air
    1970 Buick GSX with 455 Stage 1 Nailhead V-8
1970 Oldsmobile 442 with 455 Rocket V-8 and Hurst Shifter

Raiti you have some wrong facts...the nose is not fiberglass its rubber over metal...pontiac called it endura...the color orbit orange was only available on the 70-71 judge only...you couldnt get it on a normal gto without the stripes...and the wheels on the car are updated versions of the original steel wheels

455 HO did not come in a 1970 GTO Judge. So either its a replacement engine or its a Judge clone.

Stripes, spoilers, emblems and decals are subjective... some call it muscle car caution tape, cop-bait, etc.
Everything else was available on a standard GTO.
Therefore, the statement should read the 1970 GTO is the greatest muscle car ever.

Nice Judge, only thing I would add is the ram air kit. This one does not have it. He has a crome air cleaner and not the baseplate with the foam seal for the hood. Probably cost him 20hp.

455ci isn't a ram air. It's a beautiful car, don't get me wrong, I just highly doubt it's a real judge. If it is, putting a 455 in devalued it. Ram air would be a 400 which actually had more hp than the 455 in the ram air 3 and 4.

    • @1972Ventura455ho
      @1972Ventura455ho 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

You could get a 1970 Judge with the 455 with Ram Air or Non ram air. Rated at 360 hp (370 in the Grand prix) it had 500 ft lbs of torque compared to the 400 RA III 445 ft lbs and 366 hp.

Those seats, shifter and steering is not factory on any Lemans or GTO, they are aftermarket and so are those 17" rally's. A 1970 A-body (Lemans/ GTO used a 14x6 rally wheel. You could get buckets seats in the Lemans sport and a sport steering wheel. Pontiac never put a fiberglass nose on a GTO, it was a rubber urethane and they were heavy as hell.
