    8:30 Hah, I currently work at a startup in Glasgow and I'd definitely disagree on this one - it really depends on your startup's priorities. Our clients fully understand that folk go on holiday sometimes and, before we had the luxury of delegating tasks, we'd just book time off a couple of months in advance so it could be factored into project planning. We also want our staff to still be mentally present a year down the line so we make it clear from the start that we do not allocate overtime to projects unless we start falling behind the agreed upon delivery date. The only time you'd be doing odd hours is to resolve some technical emergency and those have been few and far in between.
