I figure it was cooler to be gone-gone and back-back than try and leave breadcrumbs like "Guys I'll be back to posting normally soon!" a million times (I've done this in the past) and just chip away at any audience trust, but I have a ton of ideas in the cannon. Will just need to do these kinda lighter edit styles on em. Doing some easy ones first. But it's gonna take a min to rebuild. And I get that!
I’ve been struggling to find a channel that fills my country music heart like Grady’s… and now that he’s back in the saddle I don’t need to find another! Stoked to see more uploads!
I saw him as an opener years ago and my friend and I couldn’t stop talking about how good he was. I wish I had seen him play again before he got out of my price range
Love the Sam Barber shoutout here! Glad to see country radio picking up less snap tracks and more raw music- and the 90s revival is definitely here to stay, love the video dude!
Im not saying this is why you came back. However I find the timing of your return to TH-cam and me posting on the country subreddit that I missed your videos a bit sus lol just kidding. Im glad you’re back!
I haven’t read that Reddit in years tbh! Saw some thread about me years ago when I made a vid about Covid and its effect on country concerts, it made me anxious, and I haven’t been logged in since!
@GradySmith For sure. I think he has potential to be the next Willie Nelson type musician in the industry. He just cranks out albums and is always on tour.
knew she had to be but glad to see Ella on this list. for me its been hard to get into female country artists in the last decade or more but her songs and the hungover album and even the singles recently have been a breath of fresh air over the last 7 months to have and feel like i finally have a female artist i can listen to again
I have been a major fan of Riley Green ever since the video for "You Look Like You Love Me" came out. I loved his chill vibe and tongue-in-cheek delivery. Then I found "Jesus Saves" and was gutted by the story. But it's really "Don't Mind if I Do" that's hit me hard. The simple irony of the lyrics and the truth in the story telling are amazing. And of course, it's got Ella doing what she does best.
It’s so fun with Zach Top, I won tickets in Houston last year at the World BBQ Championships to see him at a local radio station tent who started playing him, and now he’s playing to a show that only has resale tickets available at the Rodeo this year. I love seeing his growth! Also with Riley Green, I have seen him twice in recent years and now seeing him gain his dues is nice!
So glad you mentioned Emily Ann Roberts! I’ve been a fan since her debut album. She convinced me that there are still good female country singers making good music. She’s got a ton of skill and had a phenomenal sound! I really hope she becomes an A-lister. And thanks for these country music updates, I appreciate them!
Good hearing from you. Think Wyatt Flores should be included in this group. 2024 was a fantastic year for new country. Absolutely enjoyed it, and made a Playlist about 500 songs deep from the year. Loved it, and all of these artists are on it several times, and most of them weren't hits... yet? Appreciate you, Grady. Hope you're doing well, and hope to hear from you again soon. Take care.
Now he's TRULY back folks! Love this video ... probably because all of these artists have taken up permanent residence in my playlists and preferences. I feel like those of us who know Sam Barber are sort of in on the best secret that no one knows about just yet. And YES YES YES ... The Coastal Plain was just, in my mind, the absolute best album of 2024. MB is so talented and they work so hard but they're so down to earth and grounded. They're just so real ... I find myself going back to that album over and over and over (and as a Sturgill fan you would think it would be Passage du Desir ... but it's a very close second). I just hope MB gets everything they're due. And thank GOD terrestrial radio is not our only outlets these days. Glad you're back Grady!
Hello from Brasil! I love your channel, I've been watching it for a few years. I have to say that country music has improved a lot in the last few years. I love Ella Langley, Riley Green, Zach Top... Hoping it continues to improve.
Hey Grady. You probably won’t see this. But I’m a radio DJ and operations manager for KICM in Ardmore OK. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING RADIO IN THE CONVERSATION. I know sometimes ppl may look at us in a bad light but I always thank you for keeping us in the conversation. I still feel we’re very important in the conversation of country music. Furthermore working in radio I also wanted to throw a few more in there. Bailey Zimmerman has had a slew of monster hits over the past couple of years. Nate Smith as well. Drew Baldridge & even Parker McCollum. I would say those guys will one day be the A-Listers. Thanks again Grady! Glad to see you back
Hardcore country fan here since the 90s. I'm obsessed with the new wave. Already have tickets to see all of these acts this year. Have already been to a COJO show a few years ago and hes phenomenal. Saw Riley open for MW and thats what got me hooked on him.
I’ll second the “Emily Ann Roberts turns into a superstar” train. Can’t Hide Country was a phenomenal debut album, and she was great live when we saw her on the Blake Shelton tour last year. Probably my favorite of the “new” country voices outside the quartet of Luke, Morgan, Lainey and Megan.
After years of feeling defeated and describing myself of being out of the loop when it comes to new music, I’m delighted that I knew about the vast majority of the people mentioned here 😂
Grady thanks for being awesome still take your time getting back your production of Brendan’s tracks are great. Keep going man would love to see a new video on Isbell’s album when it comes out
so happy to see you back Grady. I really liked this style of video. Did you lose the Patreon because you thought you weren't giving us enough? Dude bring it back your videos have given so much, so what if you take a well deserved break I wanna support the guru and for all the content you've given since I discovered you 3 -4 years ago, the shit you went through with being mugged i'm still in your debt.
2:02 that’s why it’s easy to sing along to every pop song you know but not every country song. We hold on to so many country songs from all places in time, whereas that doesn’t happen in other genres so much.

And even if Spotify and social media are good Allies to do so, I prefer your videos 🤠 Thank you for being back ! 😊
I knew you were gonna say Sam Barber as soon as you said "kinda like Zach Bryan" lol. I gotta say my favorite blossoming artist this year was Wyatt Flores, he's got a lot to say and he has some great-sounding music. Saw him live in Boston and the crowd was so loud, it's good to see
Holy cow! As an old school country guy, I just listened to Zach Top, I Never Lie on Spotify and he sounds exactly like Doug Stone and a little John Anderson! 😮 But what a breath of fresh air!

I quit most social media and really depended on Grady's channel to hear about new music. Glad he's back!
Zach Top is the man, seen him live 3 times and the last time i did the crowd was hopping. What a performer.
I saw him as an opener years ago and my friend and I couldn’t stop talking about how good he was. I wish I had seen him play again before he got out of my price range
