Why must it be without instruments though? How will Gods people learn the melodies? Surely the melodies originated at one time from some sort of instrument and later possibly learned aurally?

Basic. Sounds like a full orchestra with all the 4 part harmony. This is true worship singing. No amplifiers, and instruments that a poor person can afford. I have seen some denominations buy into entertainment groups. I am sure there is much clapping after a song. We were talked into going to a demon;itional church at the civic center. There was a curtin which rolled back after the meal. Carbon dioxide began to flow under the curtin. Once opened it revealed modern Rock and roll singers. We got up and left.

You may find "churches of Christ" only in Romans 16:16 but that's not a name; it's an expression. You need to read the history of your religion because the body of Christ was established on Pentecost (the same year after Jesus' resurrection) but the church of Christ, Inc (your church) was established during the Alexander Campbell movement 1800 years after Jesus resurrection.
I love the hymns, but I will never go back to the Church of Christ ever again. I had a horrible experience with the Church of Christ. Now, I am member of the MCC and very happy.

I am not sure how someone goes from coc to mcc even with a bad experience. The theology is night and day. If your heart lies within the theology of the coc, praise to the Lord that you find the narrow path of righteousness along your way. I am just not sure you will find it at mcc no matter your happiness. It's pleasing the Lord that matters, not man. No church is perfect, nor should one bad experience destroy the entire purpose of attending a coc.
