My biggest takeaway on this game? I’m not sure a saw the Niners being sloppy necessarily, It was a surprising Vikings defense. They have a lot on new players and if these guys gel ? Because this is only the second game . These guys may be hell on wheels later should they gel, This is a surprising defense. What’s scary? Lots of new players on that roster. They should only get better and they have great depth along that D line.

The 49ers secondary needs to be better period. Especially on 3rd down. That goes hand in hand with the pass rush. So they absolutely need to get better there. The 49ers offense as well need to be better on 3rd down. Kyle Shanahans play calling in the redzone was an issue this week too unfortunately. I think it came down to not matching Minnesota's intensity early on. Brian flores looked like this was his superbowl or some kinda grudge match how intense and serious he was on the sideline. And he had his defense playing that way as well. The 49ers are better than this outcome, this is one of those reality check games. Hopefully they learn from this one. This is a game they could've and shouldve won.

The lack of pass rush is going to doom us this year unless they make some moves. 2 sacks through two games is ridiculous. Hutchinson from the Lions had more sacks in 1 qtr than the entire 49ers team has had through 8 quarters

Niners have lost every game @ Minnesota going back to 1994. That is 30 years. Just a tough place for this team to play it seems. Close game, could have flipped either direction depending on a play or two. Take the L, turn it around next week.

The two teams are 25-25-1, in head to head competition. I'm 68. I remember well when the 49ers came here in the 1970 playoffs and beat the favored Vikings 17-14. Be well, you have a good team.
"Separation v. Protection", that puts perfectly into words what I saw today. Ironically, Deebo seemed to get the most separation of all the wide receivers. The line really did do a bad job in the passing game, and didn't do that great in the running game in the 2nd half. Just a debacle. But only 2 teams have ever had a perfect season, which means almost every team lays an egg now and then. Such a winnable game.
The other huge mistake was burning all of the timeouts and then waiting until after the two minute warning to kick the FG. Take the FG first, and save the time. Should have kept at least one time out.
OMG it doesn’t matter about all your mistakes. The Vikings made so many mistakes. It was ridiculous and they still beat you. I love Brian Florez defense. Purdy made some great passes. The defense was confusing. The game could have gone better, but it's still early in the season. I have faith that the niners will improve over time and can't really reflect on wins it's good to lose some to see what improvements are needed
It’s another instance of KS not adapting to the situation. He goes into games with a plan, which is great, but it would be even greater if he’d adjust that plan if it does not play out. Instead he is stubborn and keeps on executing unsuccessful plays the the def eye has clearly adjusted to. Once things get tight, he suddenly opens up his playbook and lets the team loose, like on that 4th qtr drive. All of the sudden we schemed guys open and made great plays, moving the chains.
Mason has done a great job running while Mcaffrey is out. I think the issue is Aiyuk doing nothing for the 2nd game in a row and Purdy relying too much on the system and not adapting. When they did No huddle Purdy was slinging! O line also needs to protect better too. All in all its only game 2 and we are coming for you Rams.
49ers have a lack of consistency on both (or 3) sides of the ball. Need to avoid throwing away opportunities and take advantage of them when they’re presented, like today with key teams in the NFC losing.
I don’t think the 49ers can beat teams that wear purple. In the last year they have lost to the Vikings twice and got thoroughly embarrassed by the Ravens.

It’s interesting how it’s now twice that key corners have subliminally told us that they don’t agree with the coaching staff. This is what I don’t like about Kyle’s coaching, that it doesn’t feel like he takes any input from his players.

The ONLY 9er that showed up today and showed out was Fred Warner. END OF STORY!! 9ers looked lazy today, blown coverage, as ND honestly looked like they didn't even want to be there. THIS IS THE TRUTH!!
I support my 49er team win or lose. My faith in the team is great. Losing any game is no fun but that’s football. 49ers will get better. I know it! Looking forward to next Sunday against the Rams.

I'm an optimist this early in the season. The Niners weren't firing on all four cylinders during the game. I also want to know why they didn't try to run the first touchdown in. Anyway, I'm still rooting for the team!

Niners have lost every game @ Minnesota going back to 1994. That is 30 years. Just a tough place for this team to play it seems. Close game, could have flipped either direction depending on a play or two.

The two teams are 25-25-1, in head to head competition. I'm 68. I remember well when the 49ers came here in the 1970 playoffs and beat the favored Vikings 17-14. Be well, you have a good team.

"Separation v. Protection", that puts perfectly into words what I saw today. Ironically, Deebo seemed to get the most separation of all the wide receivers. The line really did do a bad job in the passing game, and didn't do that great in the running game in the 2nd half. Just a debacle. But only 2 teams have ever had a perfect season, which means almost every team lays an egg now and then. Such a winnable game.
Vikings are a better team plain and simple.

The other huge mistake was burning all of the timeouts and then waiting until after the two minute warning to kick the FG. Take the FG first, and save the time. Should have kept at least one time out.

OMG it doesn’t matter about all your mistakes. The Vikings made so many mistakes. It was ridiculous and they still beat you. I love Brian Florez defense. Purdy made some great passes. The defense was confusing. The game could have gone better, but it's still early in the season. I have faith that the niners will improve over time and can't really reflect on wins it's good to lose some to see what improvements are needed

49ers just got clowned by “seeing ghosts” Sam Darnold. It’s an absolute embarrassment.
It’s another instance of KS not adapting to the situation. He goes into games with a plan, which is great, but it would be even greater if he’d adjust that plan if it does not play out. Instead he is stubborn and keeps on executing unsuccessful plays the the def eye has clearly adjusted to. Once things get tight, he suddenly opens up his playbook and lets the team loose, like on that 4th qtr drive. All of the sudden we schemed guys open and made great plays, moving the chains.
I’m a bit concerned why Brock kept force feeding Deebo. Triple coverage. Quad coverage. All very dangerous throws even if completed. Very unlike Brock
When you have a defense that blitzes 80 plus the time that is tough for anyone.
Mason has done a great job running while Mcaffrey is out. I think the issue is Aiyuk doing nothing for the 2nd game in a row and Purdy relying too much on the system and not adapting. When they did No huddle Purdy was slinging! O line also needs to protect better too. All in all its only game 2 and we are coming for you Rams.

49ers have a lack of consistency on both (or 3) sides of the ball. Need to avoid throwing away opportunities and take advantage of them when they’re presented, like today with key teams in the NFC losing.
Deebo had a nice game today, made some clutch, contested catches in tight coverage.

I don’t think the 49ers can beat teams that wear purple. In the last year they have lost to the Vikings twice and got thoroughly embarrassed by the Ravens.

It’s Ok to say Purdy wasn’t good if he actually wasn’t good. But he was fine. He and Mason kept the offense moving for the most part. I’m not going to lie just to make you happy
Purdy wasn't the reason why we lost today. But red zone offense has been an issue both games so far. That MUST improve. Hopefully it will be addressed. Still a long season. We'll be fine.

He wasn't good today. Two costly turnovers while throwing for 300 yards doesn't mean anything if they don't win. Very sloppy overall but it's just one game. Just bounce back.

The fact is the niners can’t afford to lose winnable games. The hard fact is the niners had to go 6-0 in order to put themself for a good run to the Super Bowl.
If the niners lose next week it will make it very hard to make it back to the big dance. The schedule after game six becomes very very hard.
