    Hi Kelly, your jewelry is so beautiful, I started making jewelry about 15yrs ago, back in 2008 I opened my own bead store, I just loved talking to customers and teaching classes, unfortunately it only lasted a year and I had to close, shortly afterward I went through a divorce. I went into a downward spiral, packed away all my jewelry making stuff, I lost all creativity, all desire to create, until I discovered your videos on TH-cam, Kelly you lit that creative fire in me again, I turned my spare room into my beading room, you have inspired me to get back to creating again, so for that I am grateful, thank you so much for sharing your gift will us all and THANK you for giving me back my spark.

    You are so generous to offer these wonderful free tutorials. I bought one of your Etsy tutorials a couple of weeks ago and it is fabulous and very well written and documented. I just purchased more of them, including the one shown at the beginning of this tutorial. If anyone else is thinking about it - I highly recommend it (and all the other ones). This design is absolutely stunning Kelly! I want to make it so badly, but I'm having a heck of a time with the sizing of the frame. I made 2 different ones, and one was too small (didn't realize this until after doing the weaving on the 2 sets of frame wires, and when I went to put the 20 gauge through on the right hand side), and the other, too long. I'll try again after I "take a break" from it. Haha! In the meantime, thanks so much, as always! P.S. Any "tips" about the frame would be greatly appreciated.

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much. It’s just trial and error really. I struggle with getting the frame size right. I started one of these yesterday and I was pleased with the frame but it was a bit too small so I changed the stone 😅 Good luck, have fun ❤️

    @Kelly Jones Jewellery Please could you tell me where you get your 14g wire? My supplier never seems to have that gauge in stock. (I'm in UK)

      I buy mine from metalclays4u on eBay, mine is 1.5mm, I bought it on a reel. It's worth having some just for jumprings and bracelet ends 👍

    Does it make a difference where you buy your wire from? Is it copper? I get mine from Micheals... yours seems to be a bit more flexible yet hold firm. Also curious how your tools dont damage the wire either.

      I buy my copper from metalclays4u, also I've bought from Rio Grande. I'm always marking the wire with tools but I'm getting more tidy with time I think it just takes a lot of practice. I've heard you can coat your tools with something, but I say keep practicing 😅😊

    Hello!! thanks for your videos! How do you change the color of copper?

  • @zippy7628

    That is truly awesome i was thinking about giving this a go and was wondering about the wire. Are there any special characteristics about it like tarnish resistant or anything like that or just raw copper wire? I really dont know much of anything about using wire other than i can bend it lol

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use dead soft raw copper. I find the coated stuff, when you use your pliers the coating does seem to come off. Also I like to oxidise the copper, so it needs to be raw. The softer copper is easier to handle, so I always go for soft/dead soft copper. Hope this helps 🌹

    I love your tutorials! With the 20 ga wire, do you want it to be dead soft?

    I've started ..... my goodness it's harder than it looks 😅 can I ask what you do with all your off cut little bits of wire? Xx

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It gets easier over time. I keep my silver cut offs as you can recycle them but not the copper.
      Thank you 💕

    Where can I get one of those bobbins that you use for the weaving wire? What is it called? Thanks!

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s called ‘Bob-eez’ by Beadsmith I bought mine off eBay. They come in all sorts of different sizes and some have weights. I use the non-weighted ones. Hope that helps 🌹

    Do you think it'd be too difficult to do this with 20 g and 24 g together? It's all I have currently LOL.

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you would struggle using the 24g as a weaving wire. You really need a thinker wire for the frame and also a thinner wire for the weaving wire.. sorry 🌹

      Around the weave or base wire that loops around at the top 🌹
