Potjiekos isn't just food cooked in a Dutch oven. In fact, there is much tradition and practicality that got lost in outlandish concoctions across the country every weekend. Finally a chef that can pronounce "turmeric." So many don't honour the "r." at all.
So I missed last week's episode....just watched it and this week's...and they are awesome....however....I can't seem to find Jay on Skip the Dishes....so if you could forward me the address so I could order that would be great.... ; )
Adding cold alcohol would actually cause the entire stew to cool down way too fast. It could cause scalding on the bottom, and potentially make the meat more tough.
Thank you so much, I've been cooking my beef chunks all wrong. Now I can say I can potjie😁😁
Made your recipe and it was amazing, added a few of my own tricks but thabk you for sharing!
I am so glad you enjoyed it!! It definitely is such a versatile and amazing dish!
