I thought War and Peace was pretty long-and worth it.

Barchester Towers was my favorite of the series. Those are the only Trollope books I've read, but I want to try more.

A lot of good books that you mention. I hope you find the book you wrote one of these days.

I’ve read Precious Bane, but I can’t remember it very well lol and I’ve heard good things about Boswell’s Life of Johnson.

I wrote NaNoWriMo novels as well. Great fun. I've read a few Vonnegut Jr. novels... found him when I was in high school and enjoyed most of what I read, but I haven't read the other authors you mentioned for prompt 9. I looked for the Samuel Johnson book on Goodreads, to see if I'd want to read it. Looks interesting... a man writes about his friend... so maybe.

Thanks for the shout-out! I hope that your daughter can get the glasses. She might find also find that she'll need to try different medications, if one or another doesn't work. I'm going to be advancing to the every 3-month IV infusion for migraines/light sensitivity soon.
5:36 I read "The Harlequin Tea Set" last year; it is one of the few Agatha Christie books that kind of creeped me out (the other being "Crooked House"). Do the stories seep into your dreams since you read them before bed?
6:16 How are you enjoying the Navarre and all of its notes? I picked up the whole collection of Navarre books of the Bible years ago, but haven't gotten around to reading any of them yet. It's so funny that you're showing it here; I literally just recorded a video where I show the Navarre for a segment in a video I have yet to finish making.
7:23 I hate it when historians judge and look down upon the era and historical figures they are writing about. It's smug, obnoxious, and fails to do the subject of the book justice. I can understand why you DNF'ed that book!
8:49 I've heard of "My Friend Flicka", but don't know what it is about, and haven't read it. I have always kind of lumped it in with books like "Black Beauty", which I read ages ago as a Great Illustrated Classic. I'll have to look into "My Friend Flicka" at some point.
16:32 Good ol' NanoWriMo; I completed it once years ago (the result was terrible), and my Mom completed it several times. 18:06 I'm sorry that your adolescence was so rough. I hope that you found writing an alternate version of that time in your life to be cathartic.
18:12 Thanks for taking part in this tag; I've enjoyed hearing your answers to the prompts!
EDIT: Oh, dear... it appears that I've written a book of a comment, as usual. Sorry about that.

Hi Tahlia! If books start to bleed into my dreams in a disturbing way, I usually don’t read them right before bed. So far that hasn’t happened! I like the Navarre a lot. It is very orthodox, I think and cites a lot from Augustine, Aquinas, St Theresa of Avila, St Josemaria Escriva and lots of papal documents. The original My Friend Flicka (I believe there might be corny Disney knock offs under the same title) is really a story about a young boy coming of age, his family and the horses on their ranch. Quite different from Black Beauty.
