The Honda City is a subcompact car which has been produced by the Japanese manufacturer Honda since 1981. The seventh-generation City (fifth-generation as a sedan) was unveiled in Bangkok, Thailand, on 25 November 2019 in its sedan form. It shared its platform with the fourth-generation Fit/Jazz. While its dimensions have grown to the point that it is slightly larger than the ninth-generation Civic sedan (2011-2016), the City continues to be marketed and priced as a subcompact or B-segment car.

The City sedan was launched in the Philippines alongside the facelifted Honda CR-V on 22 October 2020. The new City is now imported from Thailand instead of being locally assembled in the now-defunct Honda Santa Rosa plant. The only engine released in the Philippine market is the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine. Known as the L15B1, the engine is relatively similar to the L15Z engine found in previous models with the exception of dual overhead cams and further implementation of Honda's Earth Dreams technology. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and CVT. Three trim levels are available in the Philippine market: S (6-speed manual and CVT), V (CVT only) and RS (CVT only).

The hatchback version was launched in November 2020; 26 years after the body style was last used in 1994. Dimensions-wise, the hatchback is 208 mm (8.2 in) shorter than the sedan at 4,345 mm (171.1 in), which means it is close in size compared to the European ninth-generation Civic hatchback. Honda claimed hatchback offers more legroom than the sedan and offers the Ultra Seats carried from the Fit/Jazz and HR-V, allowing for four rear seat arrangements - utility, long, tall and refresh modes. The City Hatchback serves as a replacement to the Fit/Jazz in several emerging markets (except in South Africa where the Fit is sold), and is currently produced in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brazil.
On 14 June 2024, the facelifted City Hatchback was launched in the Philippines in the same RS grade as the pre-facelift model.

I remember you reviewing the HR-V S, do they have the same speed or the underpower of the hrv drastic due to weight? Also, do they have similar NVH? Thank you!

NVH is somewhat the same. The power is better here in the City Hatch!

if you really need high ground clearance, sure get the sonet, I think its pretty competitive and has good features as well, but ill take Honda anyday

if first car and want a beginner friendly you can choose between wigo and brio because of the value for money and fuel efficiency. But if you prefer honda City, you can consider nissan almera vl sports since it has 360 camera and all the features that the honda sensing have, not to mention it has blind spot monitoring, TURBO and smartphone app to control your car.

Same tayo ng choices. Torn between these two. Gusto ko yung ground clearance ng sonet pero design wise mas naglelean ako sa city, matagal ko na kasing pangarap yung city

damn when i see these ..
im really glad i picked the emzoom
automatic collision warning and braking is just one of the many standards of a car that has ADAS. its barely even mentioned.
but honda is advertising it like its the next best thing.
    yikes
interior also looks like a 2015 car. manual parking break ? non digital cluster display ? WUT
    Honda isnt really being competitive.
at least toyta is trying to be competetive with the Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross
    and Kia has the Sonet.
if you cant with chinese cars get the Sonet... way better than this overpriced outdated car
