- No Till Corn Planting 2023 | Southern Darke County Ohio
In this video I am out in the field with a local neighboring farm as they are No-Till Planting their 2023 corn crop using their Case IH 260 tractor and 24 row Kinze Planter.
Having been raised in Darke County I love these videos. I will be there next month eating Maid Rites. Thanks again Mike.
Love your video Mike.
Mike you always do a great job with your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Kinze planters are nice😉👍 thanks for another awesome video👍👍
as a life-long resident of Darke county, it's interesting to see how all this goes down.
I like this kind of videos from Bangladesh. I like the use of agricultural machinery very much. I want to use this type of machine in our country.❣❣❣❣❣❣❣
Crazy I randomly stumble across this and I grew up with Grant who I imagine is driving that Case. Took me all of 30 seconds to know 😂
Markers are cool i use them alot im just that good
So that field was harvested, left alone till they planted corn without loosening the soil at all? That pretty cool if I’m understanding that right! Great video as always!
Yes, that's how we do it too
Quite a rig!!! With today's fuel prices, will save on expenses.
I like Mike less videos on TH-cam from the imperial county California.
I’d get bored with flat fields like that 😂 I’m too use to our hills
Howdy Farmhand Mike
Beautiful👍👍👍
8440 was our big tractor back in the 80s
First to watch the planting
Plant'n😎😎
Very cool. There is a farmer in my area who uses a 260 magnum with a front mount tank and a 12 row 38" stackfold kinze planter on a orthman toolbar to plant his corn.
We run 38 inch corn also.
@@Hinesfarm-Indiana almost all the corn in my area is on 38" rows, and a majority of the soybeans too.
@@Cenlafarmtoys what state are you in?
@@Hinesfarm-Indiana east central Louisiana
@@Cenlafarmtoys oh ok, we’re northern Indiana
Hey Mike I think tractor data is wrong the older magnums had the 18 speeds the newer ones are 19. Then if it didn’t have a suspended front axle they limited the rpm in 19th and wouldn’t go as fast as the ones with the suspended front axle. I could definitely be wrong on that but that’s been my experience in all the CNH tractors I’ve been in
👍
The 19 speed just had an extra road gear if I am remembering correctly.
I’ve got a neighbor who runs notill corn, we run notill corn on our muck ground.
Will the shade from the corn terminate the green we see?
It will eventually but they’ll spray for weed control soon
What the farmers do the rest of the year until the corn is ready for harvesting?
Well it all depends on the farm but right after planting wraps up the corn gets side dressed (nitrogen applied) Then spraying will keep most busy until mid July and if they grow winter wheat they have to harvest that end of June into July. Haul last years crop to market if they still have carryover. Then cleaning up the planting equipment for storage, Getting the bins and harvest equipment ready for harvest in September so there is always something going on.
@@farmhandmike Thank you for the comprehensive answer.
1:01 are you recording this from a barrel?
👍
