i got one of these too, a 2003 with a uni filter and a fmf powercore 4, i painted the whole thing blue and white strips looks pretty sweet and like you said they are tough as nails!! haha
It's been a while since I got rid of this thing but I think they were 23-8-10 on the front and 23-10-10 on the rear. They were ITP mudlites and we're pretty good trail tires. Not too heavy or overkill for a 250 2wd. I wish I wouldn't have sold it now lol
This is crazy. You are describing a beater and we are all looking at a perfectly good machine. I don't think you have ever seen a beater. LOL The bike you have right there would go for pretty good change just like it is. it looks barely used really.
vince lydick I sold this quad years ago lol but yes the engine was fine. The knock you hear is just the exhaust. Yamaha used thin metal for a period of time in their exhaust systems and it gave their engines a pinging sound. You couldn’t kill one of these old bear trackers. They’re the toughest atv ever built imo.
Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. I got them about 2 years ago for $250 for all four. They've gotten more expensive since then. Great tires. They have lots of traction
I just bought a almost brand new 2001 bear tracker. It was used maybe 10 times and has like 100 miles only on it. Looks like it came straight out of the factory. Paid 1300 bucks. Not even a scratch on it. Only thing is the brake light doesnt come on when I pull the brake lever. The rear light will come on if the headlights are on but no brake light. I'm confused. Does anyone else have this problem???
They certainly very tough and dependable. I have an 03 and it just won't quit. Yamaha got it right with this one !

I have a 2001 thats brand new still pretty much. Only has like 200 miles. Looks like it came straight from the factory still.

It doesn’t have one the back light is only lit when you turn on the lights
