I love how smart Matt is. He's completely right, them trying to shift the industry into having a more direct connection to the artist is awesome. The closer you are to the artists you love, the better you feel their art. With all these new technologies, people could try to build something amazing, but instead, these new techs are being hoarded by people that only want money. That's what happened with NFTs, and now it's AI. AI has such an amazing potential, but instead of creating new opportunities and experiences, corporations are just using it because it's cheaper. One thing AI shouldn't replace, is art. Art, in the form of music, drawings, paintings, movies, or anything else, is just the most direct connection we have to the soul. AI doesn't have any of that. We can use it as reference, or to get inspired, but living in a world where all art is created by machines is scary to me. And tbh that's why i disliked A7X's new cover art for (O)rdinary. It's just uninspired AI slop.
Another great interview with Matt, he really has a way of explaining things. his examples and comparisons always help me understand what he's saying or trying to say. that said, I've learned a lot about the blockchain and web3 stuff by watching his interviews, like this one. Wish the video was longer😂.. and I like his take on the whole VR thing. It baffles me that people aren't going crazy about the VR concert. It's like you're right there with the band! and it's only going to get better.. if people will just stop hating on new technology🙄 Anyways, I'll stop yapping. Thanks for the interview, and I recommend you do grab a pair of those apple googles so you can check out those VR concerts :)
This is such an awesome human down-to-earth chat. Fun fact we bought our first Meta .. to view We Love You! As an avid concert goer and someone who has gone to A7X, I often relive the experience on TH-cam proshot concert clips. So the VR concert is such an awesome offering😊
I was on the fence but after thinking about it from the biz side I agree it is punk rock!!!! it cuts out the greedy middle men whom have dominated and taken advantage of the people whom should have been getting the pay day. The artist.
One good point Matt brought up- attending meetings with the big people who are making these decisions. This can pertain to many industries. You can sit back & complain about where your company is going and/ or the decisions they make... or... at least attempt to be part of the solution where everyone can benefit. Have your voice heard, suggest something, ask questions. Too many of these younger generations are too scared (sometimes lazy) to be part of the solution, or WORK for it. Internet ruined us to an extent. Matt knows how to take advantage and make it work for him. Show up & speak up, don't just sit back and continue to be non-existent to those whose decisions may impact you. FYI, that VR concert was interesting. Awkward & in-your-face at first, but so cool and immersive!! 🤘😎🤘
I think one of the reasons why Avenged Sevenfold is hated is because people can’t stand the fact that they’re always head of everyone else, when it comes to technology experimenting and planning the future. 👽
Okay, look...I've been an Avenged Sevenfold fan for almost two decades, and I'm going to admit that when Avenged Started the on the Blockchain, I didn't get it at all and was very scared and angry. I'm a musician too, so I honestly thought some bull-shit was afoot. Now, I can honestly say I'm starting to 180 on the whole thing and I'm so grateful to Matt for explaining things. I certainly do not want to be siding with corporations.
When I-max came out in the 80s my friend got tickets to a Rolling Stones concert movie shown on I-max. It was pretty cool for not being there in person. So now the technology for 'non-live' events has to be much better with so many creative ways to use it. I disagree with any backlash about someone's art or what people want to see or participate in if it's not harmful.
super cool discussion. what an opportunity! only criticism is you cut him off a LOT - not to add new/important info, but to repeat the point in different words. the quality of content would improve drastically by letting the guest finish their thoughts. thanks for sharing this intimate talk.
I'm hoping that car is self driving cause this driver ain't paying attention that would freak me out matt kinda looks nervous dunno if it's the driver or the interview
Matt’s a very humble guy. A7X is still my favourite band!
I’m like, that looks like M Shado-WAIT A SECOND
Nice
Shads is thinking “this MF is gonna crash”
Definitely at 12:46 😆
Really😂
It's like when M Shadows eyes staring Johnny playing Jenga with John Dolmayan thinking don't do something stupid
I learn a lot every time I watch Matt talk about this stuff. And I have a good time. And I just turned 70. So if I can sort of get it, anyone can!❤
He's so down to earth and real. I'm a fan for life and you guys rocked it in Lincoln, Nebraska!. Please come back!.

I'm super confused what art you talking about?
The bands art would obviously refer to their music?@@MekareP
@@MekareP i think he’s talking about the synthetic version of Ordinary which is not made by them but another artist
@@kingjuan4022That one, yep
Uhhhh their cover art is not AI…at all. It’s all art made by a very real person lmao

Refreshing and an angle of the artist I never would have guessed. Well done.
