with the distance between the firebox and the smoker, does the smoker get hot enough? Or is more for cold smoking.
I have to admit that I forgot to isolate the pipe, but it is not a problem to set at 90 - 120 °C. It just takes a while to keep the smoke warm up.

Finally found someone with the same idea as me! Instead of a grill, I was plannin on a pizza oven, though!
I want pizza/bread oven, grill, spit, a big hot/cold smoker (smoker above a fire pit and having a fire pit ten feet away piping the smoke in under it). My off grid property is in Alaska and I want to smoke lots of salmon, elk, deer….
I better finish the cabin and the shoot house first….

Co teplo a izolace kolek kouřovodu k udírně nepraská teplem?Musí se izolovat jnak praskene zdivo....Jinak pěkný...:)

curious why some of the bricks have very little to no mortar.
Old bricks are different sizes, so I had to try every variety of drought. Some photos show the bricks that do not yet mortar.

How long did it take you to build? I want to do this myself it didn't too look difficult until I saw the piping :(
About two months, but I did not do every day. We worked most weekends. "piping" ?? I used a metal pipe because I had a chunk of the rest. Piping smoke can build but also of bricks - th-cam.com/video/1Xu_Uezl6Ao/w-d-xo.html

Why so many solid suit case block? I am not knocking the work, they look great, but they're heavy and they don't hold up as well as standard block. I understand using them where you can see the top, but they are all solids.

What did you put after the first layer of cement and before putting the bricks? the black stuff and what for?
The first is asphalt lacquer. On it is then placed bitumen waterproofing membrane. Is it to protect the structure from moisture from the concrete base.

it is called nervous trowel
nervous trowel is a asphalt base with copper inbeded in it im a mason ans we use it as water proofing when starting out a new wall look at the newer brick building around while ur out and some times u will see it protruding thru the bed joint which is horizonal

Hi! Very nice job! Allow me a few question! When using the smoker, does the smoke leaking elswhere wehere it is not desired? (e.g. at the furnace door) How long is the pipe to the smoke chamber, and what temperature is inside by smoking?
Hello, there is no smoke leakage, maybe just in the beginning before the pipe gets hot. The pipe is about 2 meters long. In the smokehouse, the temperature is around 90 ° C.

Yes, exactly. Sometimes it is better when the smoke is cold and smokes for a long time.

Under fire? Why? This is a fireplace for grilling and not a smithy :) .. The pipes only serve to transport smoke to the smokehouse and then to the chimney.
Pěkná práce, taky se chystám tento rok postavit udirnu/krb/gril podobným způsobem (jen trošku větší aby se dala grilovat i celá kýta :) ), jen by mě zajímalo jak vám to udí, resp jestli je zde použitý spád kouřovodu dostatečný? Osobně jsem uvažoval o odvodu kouře z vrchní části topeniště (u Vás mě příjde že je kouřovod veden skoro od spodní části topeniště) a použití trošku většího spádu kouřovodu. To by samozřejmě znamenalo umístění udírny trošku výš + vyšší komín.
D4rkcz Právě kvůli tomu abych dodržel alespoň minimální spád jsem musel posadit kouřovod v topeništi tak nízko. Popravdě že to vyšlo až tak nízko jsem si uvědomil až po stavbě:) Při uzení jsem ale žádný problém neměl. Problém je spíše ten, že oheň (teplo) má tendenci se hned stáčet do kouřovodu a tak se dost pomalu ohřívá žulová deska nad topeništěm. Ale i toto jde v pohodě vyřešit malou stěnou ze šamotových cihel - tsagedar.rajce.idnes.cz/nastenka/#topeniste.jpg (fotka není moje, ale mám to řešeno podobně)

Dekuji. Kourovod by nejaky spad mit mel asi cim vetsi tim lepsi,ale priznam se ze tady jsem zrozna moc nepremyslel:) a vysel mi spad maly. Ale pri uzeni zadny problem neni. Samotky jsou tam kde je horko, tudiz v obou topenistich. Na klenbach jsou jen tak na okrasu aby to nebylo vsechno cervene:)

The bricks seem quite different in dimension than the ones typical here in the USA, are they new or did you recycle them from an older structure? Some of them look old. Very fine work.
Hello, Bricks have the dimensions 29 x 14 x 6.5 cm. Bricks are from the Czech Republic as me :) .. Yes they are recycled from old design, just for their appearance.
