Gandheshwari mata is considered as one of the replications(roop) of Durga mata. It is believed that in ancient times the traders and merchants who traded perfumes,camphor,wood raisin etc. Before sailing to the sea they used to worship Gandheshwari mata for their good trade and well being.
Every year on the day of Boisakhi Purnima she is being worshipped. The method of her Puja is quite similar to that of Durga Puja.
