Hi Derek, thank you so so much for sharing your secrets! I am still struggling with that technique on my alto sax, I think that this episode will help me a lot. I hope to see you in Italy soon! Are you still giving lessons on Skype?
It’s been a little frustrating for me moving from clarinet to alto sax and finding both the low end and slap tonguing much more difficult. But perhaps this video will help kill two birds with one stone.
Is anyone nerding out hardcore with advanced slap techniques on the saxophone? Great stuff!
i like that slap static you really threw there
You make it look so easy. Probably the hardest technique I still can get on my Bari 😢
Cool, thanks for the vieo.. Another great tutorial.

Wunderbar und sehr schön
Not sure if you are ever going to see this, but could you try doing a beatbox cover of caravan?
You make saxophone sounds like a guitar
Amazing, love it

Beauuuutiful
Helpful!
I manage to sound like you but each note sounds one step and a half higher than the note without slap. Why is that?
Are you breathing in with your nose or mouth at 6:55?
Yea
super ! dommage que mon Anglais, ne me permette de ne pas tout comprendre, thanks !
How do you make noises like Leo P? And can you make those noises on tenor sax.
I believe most of that is overtones and altisimo notes. I think he has made videos on both of those.
Overtones. Also Leo P sometimes uses his lower teeth on the reed to do those high notes
Please make good videos again. Thanks.
Jim Johns what’s that supposed to mean?
Well that’s a troll remark if I ever heard one.
