Honestly, Dazai's face and the way he breaks into tears when odasaku pats his head at the bar (at the end of the stage play) broke my heart wayy more then it did when oda died

When Oda pats Dazai's head he says something to him we can't hear and that's why Hideya (Dazai) starts crying. At the end of the stage play Taniguchi-san (Odasaku) revealed what he said to Hideya.
This is what he said: "Thank you. I'll leave the rest to you!"
With this line he was talking to both Dazai and Hideya because he won't be coming back in future stage plays and Hideya just couldn't hold back anymore after hearing that because they became friends during the making of the stage play and everyone was sad that they can't work together anymore on future BSD stage plays.

Sorry for the late answer I had an emotionally exhausting last few days and I didn't want to talk to anyone.
I watched the stage plays on bilibili. The stage plays don't have eng sub on them they are only available with chinese subs. I can understand japanese so not having eng subs was not a problem to me.
I couldn't find Dazai's entrance exam and I also couldn't find The untold origins of the Detective Agency. I didn't hear anything about the cannibalism arc having a stage play so I don't know anything about that and Stormbringer is coming out next year.

I don't care if this is late, but I was on the verge of tears at the end of the video and I almost didn't cry. And then I read this comment and started bursting out laughing. It's hilarious but I just realized... I don't remember seeing that match box anywhere in the anime until after Odasaku's death. So I assumed Dazai just holds on to the match box cuz it had lupin bar on it, to remember the good times. But it's ODASAKU'S match box which means he's been holding on to something that belonged to Odasaku for 4 years. T_T

I read the dark era novel last week. But i never imagined Dazai crying this much for Odasaku. I somehow pictured him more stoic just like in the anime. Ah ... Hideya's acting was just so heart breaking 😭 i love every bit of it.
Dazai is a very magical character to me because of how I can literally see myself,so every time I see Dazai cry I just magically started to cry also.I really do wonder,how on earth does Asagiri create a character like Dazai?
He seems to be someone that you'll never meet in real life,because when you get deep into his past,he isn't just a fictional character anymore and has become yourself deep inside of you.

Kinda sad Hideya wasn't Dazai in the live action movie of Beast. Masashi san and him had a great chemistry. But Rui also did great as Dazai. I watched the movie and I didn't feel like he replaced Hideya coz he truly did a great a job as Dazai.
Ok, I am starting to think that I should go back to do a video every 3 days, but before that, I'll start to try the 2 videos per week. I'll do a week with a BSD and a speedraw video and the following week will be dedicated to figure skating. I'll keep on posting on wednesdays for now and the second video of the week will be on saturday or sunday if it gets delayed. If I don't have figure skating videos planned, I'll do more BSD or other animes.

Nope! The crying definitely could have happened, but its not flat out stated. The headpat scene is entirely stage play original. In the light novel the entire bit about wanting Oda to have tried the hard tofu was at his grave instead.
