I’m not gonna lie. I really miss this opening package. This was one of the best. I wish they will go back to this package with the updated version and graphics.
Yeah, Erin does that many mornings, weather permitting. As for the WGN News at Five, I get the impression that they want that newscast to have a different look and feel than the rest of the newscasts, hence the entire newscast being done from the newsroom, not using a green screen for the weather report, and the female voiceover.
Just so ya know Robin Baumgarten got her start in Skycam 9 when the WGN Morning News Debut before she sat behind the news desk I wonder why? I guess she either wanted to do the news in the studio and had enough of doing the traffic or it was WGN's decision to do that
They had noone else to fill in so they just shifted her to hosting. The team still joke about it and if the traffic girl is away then Robin will do traffic aka read times off the monitor

Check it out and see for yourself, and while the clips from those broadcasts uploaded here were recorded from the Local Chicago Feed Of WGN-TV 9/CW, the clips that the archive.org website had uploaded were unfortunately recorded off of WGN America, too bad they're weren't any LOCAL Chicago commercials shown here in this video, because the clips over at archive.org do have commercials, but unfortunately they're were NO local Chicago clips off of WGN America's airings, but like I said do feel free to see the clips over at archive.org and see them for yourself.
Why are they using a female voiceover at five Also Erin McElroy is all over the place: she anchors the 4am newscast, is in the helecopter for the 7am, im also assuming the 6am, and back in studio at 8am. Does she do this every morning?

On the Midday newscast there was no talent before the break probably because Dina Biar and Steve Sanders were off that day
