It never sat right with me that the Security Breach highlights were so good, and I was actually able to be there for the RUIN stream, had a great time, he even read some of my comments, and by the end of the last stream, I was excited for the upload. And then... it never came. I was so disappointed. I thought maybe the file had been permanently corrupted because of the crash that happened halfway through the last stream. I'm glad he was able to recover the files, and hopefully they'll get uploaded sometime so I can make my own fan highlights reel of it 💜

Like 64 or Galaxy, there are multiple shines for each level in Sunshine. Unlike either game, the entire level design changes for some if not most of these shines. Imagine if Mario could pick the easy 1st level, go to where the shine wold be in the version of the level covered in toxic goop that requires careful platforming to get to that same spot, and just POOF switch to the new shine and pick it up just like that. That's what Swap Anywhere does to DK64. It's how babies play the game. People who play DK64 for the first time with Swap Anywhere also don't eat pizza crusts. The mod is very respectable in a technical aspect, though, because DK64 is a house of cards that fundamentally breaks if the emulator is even slightly inaccurate, so being able to mod it reflects and facilitates deep understanding of the game code.

If he didn't reset objects and events for the new version, there would be both old and new consoles overlaid on top of each other. Have you seen what the models look like on any other video or are you just judging it by his stream alone? edit: Looking at the console it's pretty clear that it's bugged for Joel because he didn't reset the save. The old model is still there on top of the new console model, so I'd say you can cut some slack for Monique as this one was not her fault.
The game is in pre-alpha and being made by like 3 people. This obviously isnt what the game will look like a few years from now when its out of alpha ya dingus
@@thymii the current model, from my save, that is orange, nearly identical to joel's besides the clear overlay, is in my opinion too visually cluttered, needlessly high-detailed and generally does not look good. It is in my opinion that the previous consoles were more charming due to their simplistic and to-the-point style, without any needless clutter separating vital UI elements.
@@thebluehat6814 Okay that is a valid point, I was mostly concerned the overlay glitch was potentially skewing your impressions of it. Clearly that is not the case, so I can see where you are coming from. We might be seeing some "feature creep" which is common for upcoming indie games. Rather than fleshing out the gameplay, the dev throws in minute cool details for the sake of it. So from that perspective there is real artistry involved with the modeling. It's just not helpful visually I guess.
@@thymii definitely agree on the feature creep. the game has been seeing a lot of half-baked features like the cave and the 3d printer that hardly get attention while already great aspects of the game are getting tweaked, or the focus is just straight up getting shifted to something else entirely.
