Nice yellow belly , good photo shot of the kite getting the carp I went last Thursday night fishing for carp 6 big runs and missed every hook up , then went on the Friday and got one carp 16.5 pounds
Hi Robbie I've been fishing Lake Eildon since I was a teenager and I have caught hundreds of fish my biggest mud marlin was about 20lbs, Trout to 6lbs, bigger in the pondage also Redfin, Yellow belly ,Murray cod ,Macquarie perch ,Roach and Goldfish .It's a great fishery with a lot of species also yabbies and fresh water crays

Robbie went fishing and he had just one wish. To catch something good and be a target fish. Fishing was tough and I don’t mean to harp. But hits were a plenty and there was heaps of carp. Persistence paid off and to this great fella. He finally managed to land a good yella!
There must be something with the depth of the water with the colour of the yellow belly that's a grey looking one in the shallow water my was a golden looking colour in deep water as you seen. Hope the fish tasted great for you I know mine did.
Thanks Max, good luck on your next Eildon adventure. I'm not a fan of eating carp. Unlike many people that say it's crap but have never actually eaten it, I have eaten it on a few occasions. I didn't mind the taste, although it was a bit bland, but the bones were next level bad. LOL

Good stuff Robbie done well to get a yella off the bank, I normally go there chasing cod off the surface early in the mornings and chase the yellas during the day, but Hume has been fishing to well lately so I’ve spent all my time there. 👌

The SAME 1s that you get from bait shops, but I buy them fresh from the fish mongers, (much cheaper btw) and freeze them up, & take out what I need for a session!
BETTER than nothing, however it WAS disapointing to see that many carp hooked from Eildon lake! When I was a kid, it wasn't uncommon to pull out 100+ redfin in an hr or 2 from Eildon! When they went on a frenzy, they'd bite on anything! Even empty hooks!
When you said empty hooks it reminded me when I was untangling a bird nest my lure was just at the top of the water and boat moving a little in the wake a Redy committed suicide on it
Hi Derek, they both have their place. I find the hook-up rate is higher with a running sinker, yet I get more bites with a paternoster. Perhaps the suspended bait makes it easier for the fish to find?

Fisheries recommend you cut slits in them before throwing them back dead, so that they sink and don't smell. That is their recommendation, not the law. It's not illegal to throw them back dead mate. That's just a myth, a wives tail. I have over 26 million views on this channel, if that was illegal, I'm pretty sure I would ha e been contacted and fined long before now. Dead carp can't spawn..
Hey buddy that's all good. A lot of people have thay belief, but it is a bit of a wives tail. They recommend cutting them up so that they sink, and can be eaten by yabbies, shrimp, crayfish etc... and not drink up the area. On a lake the size of Eildon, I don't think they're going to be too much of a problem. The Sea Eagles and Whistling Kites will eat them before they have a chance to drink, and when they do stink, chances are they won't be near anybody. LOL
@@robbiefishing if I go over and water is high it's where I go. If water is lower I go over to the Delatite arm. I don't fish it enough, on our doorstep!

Snags are "good" Bloody CARP, they are everywhere but a totally useless fish!!!! Fight as hard as they do, I still can't eat em no matter how big and they are just crap fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go into the Upper Goulburn, south of Jamieson. Carp lazily swim against the current and are plentiful.

They recommend cutting them up so that they sink, and can be eaten by yabbies, shrimp, crayfish etc... and not drink up the area.
On a lake the size of Eildon, I don't think they're going to be too much of a problem. The Sea Eagles and Whistling Kites will eat them before they have a chance to drink, and when they do stink, chances are they won't be near anybody. LOL

Snags are "good" Bloody CARP, they are everywhere but a totally useless fish!!!! Fight as hard as they do, I still can't eat em no matter how big and they are just crap fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imn my younger days I used to shoot them with 00 Buckshot and 12 gauge shotgun as they used to be on the surface.
