I watched your Zero 2 review where you compared the Chu 2 to it and I guess our ears are all "tuned" differently because I see the Zero 2 has more bass, but you heard more bass coming from the Chu 2. According to the graphs, I agree with your assessment that the Chu 2 has more highs. Ultimately, I placed an order for the Chu 2s today because they were on sale and I have small ear / ear canals and I am worried about comfort and fit with the Zero 2s (another reviewer said the nozzle was shallow). Everyone seems to get along with the fit of the Chu 2s and I hope the same for myself. Thank you for the content If you haven't already, could you do a video describing the type of music you enjoy, why you enjoy it ("I love rock ballads because I enjoy male vocals"), and thus the frequency response you prefer? It would help viewers know why you prefer certain IEMs over others. Good luck with the channel and happy listening!
Thanks for your comment! Yeah audio is reeeally subjective, and graphs can give us a pretty good idea about the sound of a headphone/IEM but they are not everything. I think the Chu 2 has a bit deeper fit, so maybe thats why I experienced more bass reproduction here. And while I would not say the fit of the Zero 2 is shallow (there are IEMs who do worse), it certainly does not go deep inside your ear which can be either positive or negative depending on your preference. Both IEMs are comfortable, and I think even with smaller ears and canals you will be fine. Yeah I do think I will make an introduction video for the channel in the next months or so. Ultimately I think I do not really have a special preference but I rather like to experience sound from different perspectives. Like I can really love a bass heavy IEM the same way I love listening to music with a more neutral one. Also musicwise I listen to alot of genres, from rock and metal to EDM and Aggrotech to ambient, soundtracks and acoustic stuff. Unsatisfying answer for you haha, I will make up my mind about that a little more and maybe try to classify myself here abit.
@@absolutelyaverageaudioreviews that's fair. I like a range too. Perhaps a video of just favorite songs and what parts is the track stand out to you would be fun as well. Enjoy!
How would you say these compare to the Hexa? I just ordered them as an upgrade coming from the CHU 2. I find the CHU 2's bass a bit too much for my liking.
Absolutely an upgrade to the Chu 2. There is less bass quantity but the bass that is there is alot better. Just better texture and tight but not in a bass-light kinda way, it still feels "enough". Midrange obviously is better, but especially the treble is way better on the Hexa. Its clear, but also not piercingly bright, rather smooth and somewhat laid back. I found the Chu 2 to be somewhat peaky and coarse, it just just a little unbalanced, but its also not really bright or something. Just weird with some songs. Damn I am sounding like a salesman here, but I really like the Hexa haha. I guess if you like more bright IEMs, than that could be an issue for you. But it really works for most music genres for me.
@@absolutelyaverageaudioreviews Thank you so much for such a detailed response. The things you mentioned about the CHU 2 definitely apply to me also, i feel the same thing. I'm glad i choose the Hexa, can't wait for them to arrive and try them out.
Great review! Thank you!
You're welcome!
