I honestly think you have a big part in making omnibuses a thing that has not only lasted, but grown. I have bought most of my books based on your word, and there are a lot of us who are in the same boat. Give yourself some credit for helping to make omnibuses a lasting format for collecting.
This is so minor, but I am most excited to see the issue numbers included throughout the book. Please keep that going in each volume, Marvel! It's awful reading such nice books and having no idea which issue you are reading!
It's definitely not minor. It's so much better with the issue numbers. Makes it a lot easier to find where your at and when your just looking through it and finding specific spots.
Super hyped to pick this up. This was what got me into reading Spider-man in comics(alongside JMS' run). And when Bendis(alongside Daredevil) was at his peak. Thank you for doing this overview, Omar. :)
Thankfully, I already have this Omnibus (signed by Mark Bagley!!!), but I'm so glad Marvel is reprinting this. This is my favorite Spider-Man series of all-time!

My son has loved Spider-Man since he was a very little boy. I’ve pre-ordered this for him as a 21st Birthday present. He turns 21 in February 2022. Hope it’s delivered in time.

You are speaking the truth. Nostalgia does sell. I look at my collection and the most I have is 80s and early 90s. I purchased the Barnes and noble omnibus years ago. Glad they are reprinting it. Can not wait for Vol. 2. Thanks for video!
The really cool thing about the Ultimate Universe in general is that it can easily adapt to modern times even now.
Out of all the Spiderman runs I have read, Ultimate Spiderman is the best. So happy that its getting this reprint. Now all we need is an Ultimatum Omnibus.
This takes me back to my childhood. I remember checking out the trades from the library and loving this new take on Spider-Man.
So stoked to get this one. Even more excited that it's getting a Vol 2. Here's hoping they do the whole series! It's so hard to find the entire collection as the HCs without paying crazy prices.

I am so excited about the ultimate Spider-Man omnis. This is my first and probably my favourite comic run. I have 15-20 single issues of it and I've been trying to get the whole thing, but it's incredibly difficult to track down all the tpbs and hardcovers. Seeing that they're bringing it back just made my day!
Very excited to read this for the first time. I remember when these issues first started coming out when I was a kid, but I was not a fan of the art style and didn't care for it. But I've heard so many good things over the years about this run and now that I'm older I appreciate the art a lot more. I have this one pre-ordered and Looking forward to pre-ordering volume 2 as well. Keep them coming!
Been waiting for this since I first started collecting Omnibus’s a few years ago, always reminded me of the Tobey movies. After seeing No Way home my hype levels for this are through the roof.

I was a junior in high school when I originally read these issues and I identified with Peter so much. I started dating my high school girlfriend when he started seeing Mary Jane, and when his relationship got rocky, this old girlfriend and I broke up. Reading this book helped me get through some of that, which I am really grateful for.
Ultimate Spider-Man is THE comic that got me into comics way back in elementary school. Absolutely have to pick this up when I can. As much hate as Bendis gets nowadays I will always have a soft spot for him because of this comic. It’s also why Mark Bagley is my favorite Spider-Man artist
Huge fan of Mark Bagley's art he did on Amazing Spider Man in the 90's. Would love to see a Bagley/Michelinie omnibus. First appearance of Carnage, Maximum Carnage, etc. Some great stuff right there.
Might pick up this Ultimate Spider Man as well since I love his artwork. It's not quite as good as his older stuff in my opinion,but I want to support the guy, so we eventually get the real good stuff. His run on Amazing Spider Man
I'd really like to see a Bagley/Michelinie omni, Marvel needs to close that gap between the Larsen/Michelinie omni and the Clone Saga.

I’m so hesitant to pick this up until I know for sure they’ll be completing the run in this format. They’ve started and stopped like, 4 times now.
This is the third time and because of Omar we are getting a volume 2. David Gabriel actually takes what Omar says seriously.
Yeah I already own the paperbacks, of everything so I just can't see myself buying this again, especially not knowing if it'll be completed

Worh mentioning that I've tried getting those ultimate Spider-Man comics for years now, started collecting the "oversized" paperbacks versions of the hardcovers, unfortunately stopped after ordering only the first 2 volumes. I hope I can get the entire collection finally after all those years
My dearest Omar. Great video. Of course I want to get this Omni and I guess you are completely right. The first time that omnibus saw light we (I guess that all the kids of our generation and now adults are the ones who pay for those books to remember those "wonder years") prefer the 32 pages comic. Here's a fun fact. In France marvel omnibuses were very rare up to 3 years ago. When the french publisher of marvel released Ultimate Spider-man omnibus volume 1 in 2020, it sold so well, like best selling comics of the year and got reprinted 3 times in 2 years. Now, we have the whole Ultimate Spider-man run of Peter Parker (up until his death), in 4 omnis. Ultimate Spider-man omnibus paved the way for marvel omnibuses in France, and we get at least one new each month.
Can't wait, I've been waiting a looong time for the reprint.

Both Daredevil and Ultimate Spider-Man by Bendis really got me hooked into modern Marvel comics. I'm happy the publisher is showing some love towards the writer. This is such an amazing run. Can't wait for it come out in the direct market. Thanks Omar!
I got my copy last week here in Canada as well! We also tend to get almost all the DC omnis early, and a few of the Marvel ones. That Venom cover looks gorgeous, and is one of the things I wish Canada had. No option to order those direct market covers online 😔

That's strange. I'm in Canada and I got the standard cover as a dust jacket and the Venom cover on the actual book.
Ultimate Spider-Man is phenomenal, my personal favorite comic book of all time, and i've read a lot, its just something about it that is charming and well done, it gives me satisfying start and end of a story that i like, if anyone ever asked me for a comic recommendation, this would be my first, its spider-man, its good and it has an ending with an option to continue into the main continuity

I remember being about 9, and my mom got me the B&N collection as a gift because I loved Ultimate Spider-Man and had no idea how to read the early issues. Very first omni, and I got it signed by Mark Bagley earlier this year. Still my all-time favorite Spider-Man penciller to this day.

Hey Omar, this video has got me considering dipping my toes into Ultimate Spider-Man. I have read some of it (those first 6 issues collected plus the Death Of Spider-Man). I had mixed feelings about it but am leaning towards it. Certainly if I could find those 12 volumes of OHC's I'd go that way. So that's another rabbit hole for me to enter lol. I have these in the original tpbs and I am happy with them. However I upgraded Volume 1 to a newer printing to get the double page spreads.

It looks like the spine image on the Spidey/Venom cover is the same image they're using for the Quesada cover.
Early issues of Ultimate Spider-Man were some of my last comics I picked up before going on a sabbatical away from comics for well over a decade.

Man, Ultimate Spider-man #38 was the first issue I read back when I was a kid. So many fond memories... I just wish I'd pre-ordered the Venom variant cover!

I have the ultimate collection volume 1 of this run and I loved, a lot of the Ultimate runs I didn’t like but Ultimate Spider-Man is the best imo, one of Bendis’ best works.

Stoked for this one. Conflicted about which cover to get, kinda leaning towards the Quesada DM edition but I like the Carnage cover for V.2 so that's making me think the Venom cover for V.1 might be cool. Nerd problems!

Read the entire run but had issues actually buying it. Let's hope they reprint it all the way through.
Side note, I actually remember getting coloring books with Ultimate Spider-Man art on the front and it's funny realizing now that hey, that's where that came from.

I'm a fan of all the spiderman comics pre 1995 or so. I'm trying to get back into them but after so many years it's hard to find jumping off points for all these various comics 25 years later. Someone told this would be an excellent starting point for 21st century spiderman so I am anxiously awaiting my copy.

I remember I was into these ultimate spiderman comics runs. The first one I got was issue 10 then a few of the venom ones. Those covers sure do take me back. I may very well get this. What comes after the end (issue 133?)

Really can’t decide. I have all the trades - but like omnibuses. To double dip. I’m not selling the trades cause my kids are having them
I read volume 1 of the trades and was hooked. Want to continue but will wait for the omni at this point if the quality maintains for it
I’d just like to be sure that they’ll finish the story. I started reading the Ultimate Collection and by the time I got to volume 4, volumes 5 and 6 were barely available anymore at a decent price and 7 was the last to come ou if I remember correctly which is about halfway the story or something. Suffice to say I felt quite bummed that I couldn’t finish the collection. I’m very interested in the omnibus but I need to know the story will be complete before I buy it.

This is going to be my first omnibus I pick up ever. Spider-Man is my favorite hero and finally I’ve decided to read his comics. While I would much prefer to read the original 1963 run by Stan Lee, volume 1 is a lot of money right now so this reboot will have to do. What I’m wondering is where I can find this variant venom cover. Books a million, barnes & noble, local comic shop ?
DM copies are limited to direct market, which means comic book stories - local, or online. Places like Organic Priced Books, InStockTrades (currently having their sprint sale w this included). ASM vol 1 is being reprinted in June 2022, FYI

@@TheTurtle1100 well speedyhen had it on there site for just over £60. But I had a voucher that saved 10% HAPPY SHOPPING( it still worked last I checked). I ordered a couple of other books and put the savings towards this one. £51 I think it cost me. About half price.

By the way, the binding of my copy has gone soft to the point that it folds completely when I turn the pages. I fear it might break one day. Any suggestions in order to reinforce it?
