  • I made a dust collector that uses three embedded cyclone units that I can make myself.

    ・Full of dust during woodworking work. →→ So a dust collector is essential! ..
    Many of you have uploaded images, so I was inspired to make it.
    If the upper (exposed) mounting type of the pail can is selected as the unit to be used, the pipe diameter will be larger, but since the mainstream products are those with a height exceeding H300, the overall size will be unusually large.
    First, we adopted an embedded type and made a prototype cyclone dust collector (Unit 1).
    ・ It seemed that the fit was neat and there was no problem with dust collection, but is the unit used this time a compact type? Since the inner diameter of the connecting pipe littlelittle as 25 mm, the suction power of the vacuum cleaner will prevail (a sign of clogging with dust will appear). ..
    This triggered the planning of Unit 2.
    So I made a dust collector that uses three embedded cyclone units that I can make myself.
    ・ The vacuum cleaner "strong" must be able to operate →→ 2 cylinders or more (calculated).
    In short, if the pipe diameter is equal to or larger than the pipe diameter of the vacuum cleaner, "strong" operation will be possible, but I can not searched for an embedded type product with a large pipe diameter.
    ・ Therefore, considering the balance of the finished product, we planned with 3 cylinders and started production.
    This time, I will upload those contents.
    ★ The video consists of 8 videos.

    ★ Usage and consideration.
    ・Originally, the 1-cylinder engine had sufficient dust collection capacity even though the vacuum cleaner was used "weakly".
    With 3 cylinders, a Y branch is provided on the suction pipe (VP30) side of the dust collector to make 2 bellows pipes, and there is no sign of dust clogging in. → "strong use". → One system can be used comfortably for direct suction and the other system for dust suction.
    ・Although there is an option to use thicker piping than the VP30 mentioned above for the chamber lid surface, I have given up because of the standards for bellows piping. Also, if you make it bigger, the height of the connection unit will naturally increase, and the grounds for adopting the embedded unit will be lost, so I think this shape is good.
    ★ The unit body is exposed from the top of the lid (mounting surface) by about H35 mm.
    The upper and lower chamber units installed this time may seem large in the image, but the distance from the top of the pail can to the lid of the upper chamber is 175 mm.
    ★ I commented to the manufacturer that I expect a product with a size that matches the diameter of the vacuum cleaner.
    This is because if there is an embedded unit with a large inner diameter of the pipe, it is not necessary to bother to make it like this.
