Beautiful,, brother! Amazing country. Curious question? The Akha people,,during the war,,were they Pathet Lao or government allied? Cute happy kids like all of Lao. Thanks for hauling us alone. Poor Rado is getting a workout with all the extra people along. Lol. We have frozen hell back,,minus 10f tonight,,minus 24 supposedly on Tues night. No more please! Lol used to love cold weather,,I'd even go camping,,the coldest night I ever slept outside was about minus 25f..but I can't handle that anymore. Take care Todd and Neenee.. Ttyl,,,Marlon
Hey brother.. great question! During the war most people of Laos weren't getting involved. It was only the Hmong that supported General Vang Pao that took a stand against the Phatet Lao, and even then it wasn't all Hmong. Many Hmong fought for the communists. The Akha are one of the most isolated people in Laos as you will see in upcoming videos, and no doubt kept to themselves during this time. Stay warm mate 👍
Those kids were so cute. Again, guys you are so kind and generous of your time and money. We love you dearly for it. The black and white photos truly do add a whole new dynamic to the videos. Thank you for taking us along. Looking forward to so many videos to come. Sending you Best Wishes and Continued Good Health 🙏🙏 Jim and Harriet. Richmond, Va.
It's amazing how much this reminds me of my youth in rural Illinois about 1960. We were shoeless in the summer and the roads were sand or gravel. We butchered our own meat and the sheds had corigated tin roofs. I could show you some pictures.
A packet of hypo- activity ,works every time ( ha) Beautiful kids again. The little girl with the fringe, you took a still photo of.....reminds me of Mina ❤ Cheers.....Kenno...West Aust

Just amazing guys. Such beauty and it's incredible how they live on the side of a cliff. Beautiful people as well. One wrong turn and you're in China mate. Cheers brother.
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing your travels and the people you meet. I was the night desk officer on the MACV intelligence staff Lao desk for much of 1971. I knew nothing about the people and cultures of Laos. My daughter and I spent a week in Luang Prabang in ‘04 but I have learned more about Lao and it’s people from your videos than from our too brief tourist travels.
Was that Aaron neville singing she gives me crazy love, sounds a gruffer voice than that on Spotify...i have to say...bullfights excepted, I love your vlogs and especially your music
Seems yer a bit of a Hendrix fan M8, metoo. I remember doing acid when I was 14 and looking up at the industrial sunset full of purples and oranges......
I would love to explore the area like that but I would never do it with a Leo woman with me because I fear it would be very dangerous for a foreigner to do that I feel more safe with the lady but I love what you do and how you do it
Be careful Todd " mae khoï , NiNi !". It would be more accurate to say " Mia khong khoï yu saï ?" ...unless you fall in very early youthdom ! Ah, ah, ah !

What are you using for your B/W pictures? These are really nice. Are they outtakes from your video? Very sharp.
Hey Stephen, thanks. Most trips I carry a Fuji X100T because it is smaller and lighter than the Fuji XT-4 I used for this Phongsali trip 👌

Don’t give it to the kids direct your turning them into beggars. Give it to the village elders or head school teacher
