Turns out a class with a card that has a 130 rating is preeeeeeeety good.
Kripp drafted a Warlock deck with 2 Abyssal Enforcers and Felfire Potion in Arena and had 12-2 as a result.

Nerfing small time buccaneer and fixing the going second issue would be fine but dont forget the most important change in the game: Rename "Brawl" to "Mosh pit" now!
if they nerf pirates then jade druid will rise. I feel like that would be even worse because that would be the only playable control deck. I honestly just hate the jade mechanic so much

The Aggro we had before can handle Jade Druid just fine.
It's true that Aggro Shaman won't exist after the rotation, but Zoolock only loses Imp Gang Boss and should make a resurgence once the Pirate decks go away.
Plus nerfing Jade cards is extremely simple. With Pirate decks they'll likely change the text which is hard to do correctly, thus why it's taking so long. On the other hand Jade can be nerfed by either giving the minion -1,-1 or just increasing mana cost by one. Since Druid has no good board clear these nerfs would reduce the amount of aggression necessary to overwhelm the Druid.
Jade Druid is a tempo deck. People wrongly think that going infinite will win you any control matchup. That's really not true. Jade Control Shaman can clear and then make a push on board and the Druid can't clear in return. Reno decks can do similar stuff with Kazakus(Twisting+Sayer into revive 3/+6 health). In those matchups, the burden is actually on the druid to win quickly. Considering that it has mostly sub-par tempo plays until later, it's an unreliable, outclassed deck at best. Jade Midrange Shaman would most likely rise up which isn't too big a shift in the meta from the last expansion. Secret Hunter too. The only thing, other than pirates, that really changed the meta was Kazakus so a lot of the old meta would be mirrored in the new meta.
Chris Daley the thing with jade Druid is if you don't deal with it quickly, it will start spawning 10/10, 11/11, so on. Control deck counter a lot of that, but no control deck has infinite removal. If you have a control deck against jade, you usually have to play like an aggro deck to win.
Next time on _Kripp Can't Make Up His Mind 'Cause He's Defficient_: "Mage is King of the Arena." And after that: "Shaman is King of the Arena."

Kryptnyt Agreed haha. I hate the neutral flame imps too... but it'd be a waste of a card to just gimp it... Blizzard just needs to figure out how to make aggro not as mindless and OP.
There has to be a certain level of brainlessness in this game just because it's whole angle is Magic the Gathering but more laid-back and casual.
My biggest problem with hearthstone is that so many of the quests are *win* to get a reward. This means that newer players take hours a day sometimes getting stomped by meta decks with their beginner cards before getting rewarded with enough gold for like half a pack.

Yeah I understood that a bit too late. On the plus side, I think I've found the perfect analogy. Maybe even a copypasta.
The other thing that works insanely well for the warlock is that most of its control tools are also the finishers. Can't count the number of times I pushed the last points of damage with felfire, abyssal, hellfire or even dread infernal, and with soulfire, doomguard and PO the class is a king of pushes in the late game. The flexibility rocks. All you really need is a bit more survivability such as taunts and heals than usual, and the consistently high card quality does the rest. My point is that it is not only about the abyssal (don't get me wrong, it is crazy good), it is also about a slower meta, felfire and, to some extent, to that 5/4 that buffs demons that I played with the buff targets like three times more frequent than just a 5/4. Strong to insane cards, a friendlier arena meta and three small heals in the common slot did the trick.

I drafted a deck with 5 Abyssal Enforcers, it had a 79,9 score but i would run out of health too fast. Still got 10 wins though

It’s entertaining to go back and watch videos from years ago, and then hear someone say “what about the players who crafted patches when small time bucc gets nerfed”, full well knowing patches dominated the meta for many months after the nerfs
The problems in Hearthstone are basically tied to the fundamental concept of heroes having 30 health. There is so little in the way of increments in power. a 3/5 and a 2/4 are vastly different in terms of power and the battle cry or secondary effect of the 2/4 would have to be huge to offset the tempo loss of playing that card. Then those 1 and 2 drops with immediate impact and with even decent stat lines are inherently more efficient than those larger drops which just don't have the same stat/mana impact because they take so long to get going or have an effect that the aggro has played a winning hand by the time your slow cards even hit the board.
If hero health were around 45 the ultra aggro would be gone (see: Play Reno Jackson and pirates concede). the otk Combo decks would also largely disappear but the finisher combo/control decks would probably still be around. All decks would have to trend towards midrange and control and maybe the stat differential would be less meaningful when 15 1 and 2 drops couldn't win the game.
This couldn't be more true. I think it was this past friday I got my first 12 win arena with a Warlock deck that I would have been happy/surprised with 5-6 wins. I couldn't believe it. The class is just so strong.
The main problem is that the avarage player does not go for 7 wins, your getting 7 wins almost every game. You asking for fixes that would make 12 wins easier for you, you're a bit too greedy with these comments.

The other day I had a 73~ tierscore hunter with 2 Savannah Highmanes that ended up at 7-3. (Had like 7 2-drops and 5 3-drops, too.) Yeah, I think I get what ya mean there.
I like that people seriously think that Kripp would be better off working for Blizzard as opposed to working with Blizzard. He's one dude with close to a million subscribers and a pretty healthy Twitch following, he's making bank.

abyssal enforcer and felfire potion are commons in the new xpac, so they are in almost every deck, and then there is hellfire in the basic (not sure tho) set as an additional common
Felfire is rare. But yeah there are a lot of low rarity clears in Warlock compared to other classes.
Abyssal Enforcer has a Hearth Arena score of 130, but Muster for battle also has a 130 so Abyssal Enforcer is not the highest by tier score. It is one of the highest.

m favorite warlock deck, multiple enforcers and multiple warlock board clears, a lot of self damage. ended up with several ties. not the best deck but had the best moments

Why not just make first player start with 1 mana on turn 1, second would start turn 1 with 2 mana BUT wouldn't have the coin? Player 1 can act first while player 2 can counter his plays with bigger things.

Ive been playing for a couple months and im just absolutely horrid at arena. I manage well in constructed but ive never won more than 3 games in arena. Ive used the draft helpers watched guides, i think its time to accept i just suck at it.

I've heard nobody even come up with even the smallest of suggestions to fix any of it. It's a very deep-rooted problem in card pool and gameplay style.
Hey Kripparian, I got an idea to fix the going 2nd vs going 1st difference in win%.
What do you think about this:
Besides the coin, also add "The Overloaded Coin"
Which is essentially the same as the regular coin, except it also overloads 1 mana crystal the next turn.

The decks are just insane lately. 6-1 lock arena, face two locks in a row and lose. Thought my deck was pretty good, theirs were even crazier...1st lock literally blastcrystal'd me 3 turns in a row and just went face with a 5 attack minion. Next lock had perfect answers every turn and outraced me again.
The lack of testing is not a matter of poorly allocated funds. I genuinely think it is a matter of people that make and green light cards not knowing how to make them really broken. In their eyes, problem cards are reasonable because the decks they are running don't reflect the meta. They need a couple of pros on staff to test cards as they are developed because those types of people are the ones that really know how to break the shit out of cards.

2nd turn shouldn't have more cards or a coin. They should start out with 2 mana. It makes every turn after the first turn reactive.

Well rounded my ass, Abyssal and 4 mana destroy anything potion that is AMAZING late game.... they have 2 op cards from this expansion, the only reason they are dominating so much right now.

The average person working for "hearthstone" is not making 80k a year. The developers sure, the management sure, maybe some of the marketing people and top end community engagement whatzits. But your "average" employee includes janitors, whatever sort of customer service they have, internal IT (which might make 80K maybe), and in general lots of people without specific needs regarding education and those people make probably 30k and so your average will be quite a bit lower than 80k a year.

Somers Anders Not exactly. In Hearthstone, luck doesn't equalize you out as much as poker does. Both have skill and luck yes, but poker has more luck and less skill than Hearthstone.
Still though... too much RNG in Hearthstone in my opinion.
