You're an absolute genius, this has sped up my in-progress colour work jumper sleeves so much and saved me going at a glacial pace trying to avoid ladders and terrible float tension, thank you for posting!

Brilliant! I am about to do the cuff colorwork on a sweater, and I was dreading the potentially shortened floats when swapping needles. Thank you!

Thank goodness all our brains work in different ways for there may be no innovation.
Thanks Taylor, I'm interested in anything you have to show us.

Thank you so much for this video. I was having a problem with laddering in my colourwork (I am new to it), as I didn’t want to pull my floats as tightly as I would when doing magic loop in one colour. Your simple explanation of how to manipulate the needles has eliminated a huge problem for me and made colourwork pure fun. Thanks!

Thank you for this! It is brilliant and exactly what I was looking for. I have seen so many videos catching floats at the end of a needle, etc, but that leads to float catches popping through and a tension mess at the join eventually (at least for me) especially when there are also increases happening at the EOR and BOR. I have been using small circulars but not a big fan of those tiny circulars which work but kill your hands in the process. . This is perfect. Also, I totally agree about the yarn. Not sure what you are using here, but I love J&S or Spindrift 2 ply jumper weight! Thanks again.

Thank you for this! I haven't knit a sleeve that's all over colorwork, but I always struggle with small circumference colorwork knitting because I struggle with my floats when using the typical magic loop method and sometimes I don't want to deal with DPNs. I'm definitely going to use this method next time!

How do you keep beginning of row/charted pattern straight when you are shifting the beginning stitches all the time?

    • @TaylorOwen

I place a progress keeper on the first stitch of the round and move it up each day as I go.

I’m interested in how you hold multiple yarns-especially more than two. I love color work but still haven’t found the perfect way to achieve a flat and even tension, in spite of spreading my stitches on the left needle. Any suggestions are welcome!

    • @TaylorOwen

Nitter Pub I wonder how you tension your yarn 🤔 I don’t tension my yarn with the force of my left hand like some do. I require a lot of slack from the yarn ball and just let the yarn glide between my fingers to the needles and almost tension my stitches with my right hand, pinching them onto the needle... I always spread the stitches I just worked every inch or two. I hope that helps!

Can you explain magic loop more slowly?
You seem to be working with the working yarn on the front needle?
Also, I do not see the typical big loop on each side. I'm very intested!
