As an ex-military member myself, these marksmanship principles can be largely transferred to the proper use of a hand saw, indeed many hand tools. Awesome video! Well done mate.
That’s excellent Dude. I’m nearly 50 and I switched to pull saws about 10 years ago. I more or less homed in on the methods you demonstrated, and I get decent cuts (for the limited hand sawing that I do). I never got on with regular hand saws, but I did pick up the pull saw version of your methods very quickly. It’s just easier to pull in a straight line than push in a straight line, but I won’t fear a regular saw going forward. Starting technique is a key skill.
Hi Karl. Another great video, thank you for posting it. I really like the clear and concise way you put the techniques. Superb to see the old training film again. I felt like coming to attention and screaming “I have no live rounds or empty cases in my possession, Sir” 😂
Hi Karl, great tips there, even at times it is best to keep check on our basics and nothing wrong with re learning, it just make woodworking better. Great video Take care mate👍
Sawing a straight line has been my nemesis and I get so frustrated with it I just end up using a power tool for the job. I'm definitely going to incorporate the Marksmanship Principles next time I need to saw something. Nice hat by the way. 😁 Great video Karl. Keep up the good work and all the best.
😃 Excellent transfer of acquired skills Karl 😃. A lot of great tips for hand woodworkers (myself included). I've always been rubbish with any hand saw (i was better with an SLR 😆). Great use of some old training video footage (must be mid 70s i think). Great video mate 😁, keep up the great work 😁👍.
Awesome analogy Karl. Nothing better than using your expertise in one area and applying it to a new one. Great work.
Thank you James 😊 🙏
