How many grams did you use?
I used about 290 yds/104g in total for size S - about 150 yds/52 g in Slate Green and about 140 yds/51.5 g in Spearmint Green
Love that the measurements are in inches not in number of stitches because it's easier so i can use any yarn i want.. Thanks this is so helpful
Really glad that helps, I never used gauges or anything, so just measuring it out was always better for me!
@@brittanyalicecrochet wow... Thanks. I am having a hard time gauging too since i am from the Philippines and we have different yarns... I made one with browns really nice... Will make another one ❤️
They'd better be in centimeters 😂
Thank you for showing the measurements! A lot of videos don't include that, but I found it very helpful!
Oh I'm so glad! :)
Just found you. I've been crocheting for over 40 years and I can honestly say that you are a wonderful teacher. I was looking for crocheted fashions for my grandaughter. FOUND THEM!!! Thank you. (subscribed)
Thanks so much, I’m glad you like :)
this is literally the best tutorial i’ve ever come across ! you manage to give all the information in the world while simultaneously not spending too much time explaining to where i would skip. keep it up!! thank you!!
Wow thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed!

I made it in a day and i absolutely love it! I always have a problem with making these kind of summer tops, because I have a bigger cup size and they just don't fit right. But this top is so flatering on me. I'm going to make more of them in different colors! Thanks for this tutorial!
Omg 247k views?!?! GO OFF, SIS! I’m so proud! 🥲
I know, like what?? But thank you!!!!
Super cute! The colours are totally remind me of my favourite cactus, I love it
hehe yes definitely feelin the cactus for sure! thank you!
This is has got to be the best tutorial I have seen. I usually mess up because I don’t completely understand what the person is doing. But this was super easy and understandable. Got it the first try! Thank you soo much!
wow thank you so much for this comment, i really appreciate it!
how do you only have 1.87 subscribers, you're really amazing and talented !! this top is so cute and you explain the stitches and what to do really really well
you're so sweet, thank you so much!!
This was my second ever crochet project and it turned out beautiful. I used white and taupe and am gifting it to my best friend tomorrow! I’m sure she’ll love it. Thanks for the amazing tutorial!!
SO CUTE!!! i made it in less than a day and i LOVEEEE it!! i didn’t end up chaining at the end to make the straps (not a lot to support LOL) and it turned out so cute for those who like the strapped/minimal look!!
TIP: when you start your FHDC, make sure you reach a measurement that ends EVENLY (adding one extra FHDC won’t make a huge difference! it’s very minimal) !! you will see why when you get to making the keyhole part, saves you the headache 😅
Lovely pattern and SO easy to follow
This is perfect advice! If I were making this pattern now, I'd do the exact same thing you did :)
YES this is such a serve! I really appreciate that u included measurements, it makes this pattern super accessible! It’s so annoying when videos only tell you how to make something in one size 😒
I'm really glad you found it helpful! :)
Even though I messed up the entire project it was still very fun! Thank you
crocheting should be fun first and foremost so i'm glad you enjoyed!
@@brittanyalicecrochet I’m actually remaking it now because I have gotten better at crocheting! So far it’s doing super good 😊
@@audreyskarvig680 so glad to hear that!! :)
this is the best pattern ever I made it and it was so easy to follow now I’m obsessed!!!
Thanks so much!!
this is incredible. I'm in love with your top, the way you put it all in a simplest way and your voice xD i'm gonna make mine right away❤
Oh thank you so much! :)
loved this!! made it in a 6mm hook so i had to adjust most measurements but it look so pretty, very flattering
I’ve been crocheting for about half of a year! This video was really helpful and was a way to open myself to new stitches and everything. Even though I’m pretty new to this it was pretty easy to do and the top looks AMAZING (thanks btw) ;)
i'm so glad to hear that!! :)
Probably the cutest and the easiest tutorial on youtube!!! thank you for this
I have never crocheted and have no intention of doing so, but watched all 40 mins of this 😂
hahaha i feel that
Just finished this project and I’m so so happy with it! Your tutorial was so good to follow and I really enjoyed the process ❤
I made ittt! And it was a super good tutorial, i did it wiyh acrylic yarn, witch was fine
you showed your notes and i immediately followed you omg i love you
for this
hahaha, i feel like that helps!
This is so good and i’ve been OBSESSED by this pattern for so long so I finally decided to make it for my friend! The only problem I have is that my stitch count before the keyhole-part is odd (65) so how do I deal with that? Lol, but this is so amazing and I’m quite sad to see that you haven’t posted in a while, your patterns and designs are literally the best!! ☺️
same, mine’s 63. what did you do about it in the end?
@@livneil8332 round it off lower, so in your case make 31 stitches, that way there will just be one spare sticht in the middle but that is fine, since it will still be asymmetrical
Oh wow thank you so much! Sorry this is a late reply, I just came across it so you’ve probably already finished the top… But, what you would do is take 65/2 = 32.5. I would then subtract 2, so 32.5-2= 30.5. Since it’s not possible to have half of a stitch, one side of your top would have 30 stitches, while the other side would have 31. This would barely be noticeable if at all in the finished product :) again, sorry for the late reply and thank you for the kind comment!
I’m only about 4 or 5 rows in right now, but you’re AMAZING !!! Your instructions are SO clear and concise for a beginner like me and I’ve never watched a video more helpful and informative 💗💗 Thank you so much, I can’t wait to finish this and create more from your other tutorials 💕
Wow what a sweet comment, thank you!
@@brittanyalicecrochet Yw 🥰 and thank you so so much,, I’m getting so close to being finished aaaaaa

So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching :)
For bigger busted girls, the hdc stitches are the perfect coverage ❤❤
Loved the finished product, thank you!!!
Just finished mine and it’s the most beautiful top I’ve done😍 I have a DD cup and it looks so great!!!! Gonna make a few more for this summer!!!
It's always a challenge to make sure it fits larger cup sizes without using pattern testers, so I'm happy it fits you well! :)
Thank you for watching!!
absolutely obsessed with this top!!!
Thank you!!
Made this top and its so pretty!!! Thanks so muchh for the very easy and clear pattern 💞
i'm so glad you enjoyed!
just started making this today, will reply to myself when i officially finish

Just finished my project and omg I'm so in love with it ! I'm going to do another one, this is the perfect summer top. Thank you very much for this tutorial !
Honestly you make the best tutorials on TH-cam I’m sure you’ll be very successful! And I’ve seen pretty much every crochet Channel in English and Spanish but your videos just motivate me and are so easy to follow, and the aesthetics are just 😍 you’re a natural teacher should keep it up whether is TH-cam or real life! Sending you Love from Chile 💓💓💓
This is the sweetest comment ever, I really appreciate it
I haven't even watched the video but your aesthetic is everything. Now liking, subscribing and everything!
omg you're too sweet, thank you!!
Me: thinks this is cute and watches the whole tutoríal
Also me: doesn’t have the self confidence to wear this
U can do it bro
JUST DO ITTTT!!!!! (like Nike) lol.
I'm gonna wear mine under my aloha shirt and close the buttons over my stomach and fupa
you can do it !
i was just looking a top like this and i found your channel! u explain very well 🤍🤍 i'm gonna try it
I just finished this and it turned out so good!!! Your video was really easy to follow and you’re very good at explaining things. I’m a beginner with a couple projects under my belt and this was a great intro into tops! Thank you! I wish you still made your TH-cam videos, they are the best I’ve found 😩
Thank you so much! I'm glad this helped you :)
Thank you so much! I finished it and its WONDERFUL!❤❤
Thank you for watching my video :) Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for giving measurement ideas and explaining everything so well, I find that hard to find in many crochet youtubers, so thank you
so glad you enjoyed! :)
Thank you for making it so it is an adjustable pattern which can fit every size! x
i try my best to do so! glad you enjoyed :)
I made this top today and I love it ! Thanks so much for the great tutorial!! I’m going to make one for my friend for her birthday! 🤩💗
glad you enjoyed!
This was very easy to follow and I finished the top pretty fast. Mine is bigger than what I need though I will have to make mine smaller than the tutorial says with the yarn that I have I think. It completely closes in the back rather than staying open so now the straps in the back are really long. I can adjust the pattern though. Thank you for making this tutorial and making it so easy to follow along. This is the second tutorial I have used from you and I'm thinking about making a sweater that I believe you have a tutorial for.
Wow!! 😍😍😍 You're killing it girl!
thanks Brittany! :)
BEST TOP EVER OMG I LOVE IT SM 🥰🥰🥰
Very very well explained and filmed!! Easy to understand and to see. Thank you very much!! I am doing it for my grand daughter 😉
thank you so much for watching! :)
Yay! This is perfect for my next project and as the sun is making a comeback :)
Yesss! So excited to wear it out in the sun :)
I love love love your vids! I made a top from your channel and it looks absolutely gorgeous and it was so easy! I love it
Thank you so much! I'm glad I could help :)
I love it ! My next project after the yellow and white crop top ! Thanks for this video
thanks so much! :)
I know this is not related to the tutorial but your nails are perfect!!
💅✨😍
haha thank you so much! :)
Super cute
I love this
thanks girl!! :)
love this tutorial! I also found that my sleeve is getting too wide too quickly. I ended up skipping a whole every third time I get around the sleeve and for a flared look at the end stop skipping or even adding
this is an awesome tutorial. my top turned out great! thank you!
so glad to hear! :)
Heyy this is top is so cute and ill definitely make this one!! Can I ask how much yarn do u use for this one? Thank you ❤
if it is any help i bought 100g yarn of each color, and i think that should be enough
thankyou for making these videos!! I just finished this top and I love it so much!!
thank you so much for watching ! :)
I just finished it and I think it might look awful on me 😭 lmao. but still, it's such a wonderful pattern and the video was so easy to follow!! the measurements were really helpful as well, and you're my favourite pattern creator right now, I love what you do
thanks so much! i'm sure it looks great on you :)
I love this pattern and it’s so easy to follow! I’ve had some issues with measurements though as I’m a slightly different size and wanted the top longer too. The measurement of my top came to 9 inches, the same as in the video but my first measurements was 5 not 4 inches so the top did not taper in very much, I’m also wider so when doing the hole, the sections were very wide! Anyone have any advice?
I’ve been looking for a pattern like this forever! So glad you made this🥰
Yay! So glad I could help you out :)
my grandma told me she used to wear tops like that so now I'll try to make it
that's so sweet!
how many yards of yarn would you say you used for this (just a rough estimate)? i have really nice ball of yarn i would like to use but not sure if it will be enough. thanks!
in my case I used 80 grams each color, I hope it helps!
I really enjoyed making this top! It's pretty easy for me as a beginner, I just did subscribe to your channel 💖✨
thank you, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed!
@@brittanyalicecrochet 😍😍😍
Such beautiful nails! 😍
Hi! this pattern has been very helpful! i do have a question though; i am wondering what i should do if my measurement d and e are the same (mine are 7 inches)?
I looove your videos, your designs are so cute and fun, your tutorials are really clear and your voice is super soothing! I was wondering whether there's a difference between doing the foundations half double crochet, and doing a foundation chain and working back along it in half double crochet? the FHDC looks really difficult!!
The difference is minute, definitely just make a chain if that’s what you wanna do! & thank you so much!
great video, keep up the good work
I’m starting this top💜
i hope it turns out well for you :)
brittanyalicecrochet thank you x
Hi, I’m new and have no experience with crocheting but I want to make this top it's so beautiful. But I was confused about what you did at the beginning it went fast forward after you did 3 chains then it went fast. Pls can someone tell me 😢 thank you!
You are great btw❤️
I’m on the process of doin my version, thank you for the guide 😊 btw what’s the color your nails? It’s beautiful
oh yay :) & those were just acrylic nails, i can't remember what kind they were though, sorry!
thank you so much for the tutorial!! i did one for myself (one color) and it looks great. i'm so grateful :D
so glad it came out well :)
This has nothing to do with the video, but YOUR NAILS ARE SO PRETTY
thank you!! :)
Thank you❤
Hi! I love this tutorial and the simplicity of it! I’m an absolute beginner and started crocheting only a couple days ago so I’m not very good 😅, I’m making this top for my friend but I’m having trouble. In the beginning, for the FHDC, if the original measurement b is 22”, how many chains would that be?
Just keep making your stitches and keep measuring until you reach your length. The amount of stitches depends on your tension and what size yarn you choose to use.
@@mariestrada9557 thank you so much!
Your Voice is so relaxing👁👄👁
hahaha, thank you :)
I just finished it and it looks amazing!!! Thank you for the great tutorial ;) I have one question tho, what sort of bra can you wear under this bc you see your back and shoulders?
there are some backless and strapless bras that kind of stick on, you can use nipple cover stickers, or you can just go braless, whatever works best for you
thank you! :) brynna has some good suggestions!
yes brittany!
thank you thank you!
love your videos ~☆
Thank you :)
Hiiiii, super cute and fashionable top and I wanna make it someday yeah. And btw can I ask, how many grams u use in this top? What kind of yarn u use? And lastly, What ply? Thank uuuuuu❤️
The link to the exact yarn I used can be found in the description and I used about 300 yards in total! I’m not sure how many grams :)
Omg love this so much! How many ply is the yarns?
thank you! it's dk weight yarn, so 8 ply :)
I have a question, if you wanted to make the hole in the top smaller how would you do so? Does anybody have tips? I’m wanting to wear this to school but afraid I’ll get dress coded. Also this is such a cute top!
Have you made this top with Hobby Lobby's I Love this Yarn in Cotton? I'm making this top with the yarn and was wondering does it matter if I use a 4.0mm hook?
I have not! If you're using a larger hook size/ heavier yarn the decreasing sides and keyhole portion of the top may be slightly off. But a 4mm hook and weight 4 yarn shouldn't give you too much of a problem! i would just be aware that there may need to be some minor adjustments :)
@@brittanyalicecrochet thank you
is it necessary to weave in the other colour or can we just cut it and join again when changing colours??
you can do that as well! whatever you like :)
Im making this, expect I switch the yarn color every two rows to avoid weaving in my second color and not waste yarn unnecessarily lol I'm kind of on a budget
i definitely understand that! lemme know how it turns out :)
Heeeeyyy! I love your top and thank you for explaining the measurements! I’m just wondering why we need to substract 1.5 from measurement C?
if i remember correctly, that's simply how i was measuring where to start the beginning of the decrease. i made this so long ago though, i can't remember entirely!
@@brittanyalicecrochet thank you for your response!!! HIHIHI. I love it by the way! My sister wanted me to make it for her! 😊😊😊
@@jenrowevalderamos687 thanks so much! i hope she likes it :)
Just made it ❤️
hope you enjoyed making it ! :)
Hi. I just finished making this top and I couldn’t be happier. The colors I used were dark blue and white, but I accidentally made it a bit to big on the top, making my chest look a lot bigger than it actually is. Is there any way to make it smaller without redoing it?
Great colors! Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to make it smaller without redoing it, that's what I always end up doing :/ hopefully you can find some other way though!
Really creative, might try this one day 👌🏾
thank you! :)
hi, im in the process of making this top, and im at the point where i need to start the keyhole section. i just counted the stitches in my last row and its an odd number (53) which when divided gives me 26.5 and then 24.5 etc. how do i go about making the keyhole section with a 0.5 stitch count? hope it makes sense 😭😭
Hey i have the same problem, how did you solve it?
@@filippaklasson heyyyy so basically what i ended up doing is measuring the length in cm and dividing that into 2 instead and then just adding the number of stitches needed until it measures the same as that, hope that helps!
Is the yarn acrylic? I have some here and I wanna give this a try💚💚💚it’s really beautiful.
the yarn im using is cotton, but you can always use acrylic too! & thank you :)
hi! how much yarn did you use? just the 2 skeins or more?
hi there! i used about 290 yds/104g in total for a size S - about 150 yds/52 g in Slate Green and about 140 yds/51.5 g in Spearmint Green
Do you have any recommendations for curling in the fhdc? Mine always end up curling no matter how loosely or tightly my stitches are 😩
please have an online store!!!!!
I have an online store for patterns, but not finished items anymore!
How many ply is your yarn? Please answer this! I wanna make this top. Love uuu
I'm using a DK yarn, so 8-ply!
I feel like every time I use acrylic yarn it looks bad cotton seems to have a clean finish where as acrylic looks fuzzy.Which cotton yarn from Michael's do you recommend?
me: this is so cute im gonna do it
also me: *watches first 5 minutes* nahh to difficult
hahaha maybe come back later and give it a try :)
