I'm glad reading these comments that I'm not the only one tearing up. Two of the absolute best to ever do it. I love finding out about their relationship.
This is the first time I’ve allowed myself to watch anything with Norm in it since his passing. I was fighting back tears the entire time and lost the battle in the end with Norms praise of Dave. 😭 Norm You are a legend!
I was roasted by Norm behind my back and it was one of the funniest things I’ve ever been a part of. Kevin Nealon & I had a really good interaction after his show at Wiseguys in SLC. A little while later Norm was in town and at the photos in the lobby part I said 😃 “Kevin Nealon follows me on Twitter now, will you?” And Norm goes “Oh sure. I can do that.” 😃 “Really?! Awesome! Remember it’s IamSkippy” He said “I’ll remember. Take care.” I left SO HAPPY. One of the comedians who was still around after I left said *“When you left someone asked him if he really was going to and Norm goes. ‘You all know that’s never going to happen but I like that it made him happy. If he couldn’t tell that I said yes just to get to the next person, that’s on him.’ “*
There are so many great stories about individuals who weren't mainstream successful, but EVERYONE they worked with just adored them.. Norm was definitely one of them..
Dave Chappelle Norm Macdonald Dave Chappelle has major class totally giving it up to the man what a humble dude hanging around with that kind of company man endless jokes laughter Infinity wish I could have been a fly on that wall
I was at the San Diego Zoo around December 28 or 29th 1999, standing at the lion exhibit and look to my right, and there's Norm standing right next to me(towering over me actually) with his son. he noticed me recognize him with his hat pulled down, and i smiled to let him know i knew... but we didn't say anything, and he went along with his son. i have him on video giving some older people directions. he didn't want to he bothered while he was spending a nice day at the zoo with his son, so i never said a word to him...
I don’t know how many of us there are. Large enough to be a voice but just small enough to be a cult. Those of us where Norm became our guide through the absurd. Latching on to those TH-cam videos and podcasts like holding on to a prayer or thought of positivity as we ride through difficult times. When Norm died it all made sense.
I've read enough of the comments to see the love so many people felt toward Norm and another trend I noticed was how many times it involved loss or grief or depression, even Dave related the story of his father having passed away and how Norm kind of served as a comedic balm to help him heal a little. Myself, I'm getting old (70) and sometimes I think about death more than I should and that's what attracted me to Norms comedy, he talked about death and dying and disease and a lot of other depressing, morbid things but he spoke about them from a completely different perspective than I'd ever heard before, an almost alien perspective and one that kind of pulled the curtain aside for me and let me get a glimpse of the absurdity that lies at the root of existence and the absolute necessity our own participation in it. Maybe I could have kept this shorter if I'd started out by saying that Norm was and Dave is, along with a few others, the Shamans of the modern world and perhaps the last Shamans the world will ever know and when they're gone who will we go to for healing? RIP Norm.
Damn if you listen to the first two minutes of this video, thats the nicest thing ever Dave is speaking on Norm. They really had a great friendship, I love that story.

There was no reason to catch up because the ol coal train had run out of track. I told my dead and he was so disappointed. He had been a long time fan and didn’t even know I was beginning my discovery of him. God will treat Norm well, I know that.

He never made a thing out of his circumstances. It wasn't a draw, it was his victory!!
thank you for taking the time to edit this all together and include clips of the material they're referencing!
I'm glad reading these comments that I'm not the only one tearing up. Two of the absolute best to ever do it. I love finding out about their relationship.
Chris Farley should be 1 of the people sitting in that room... I really miss that crazy ADHD Fer 🤘
Norm was one of the funniest people ever. RIP
This is the first time I’ve allowed myself to watch anything with Norm in it since his passing.
I was fighting back tears the entire time
and lost the battle in the end with Norms praise of Dave. 😭
Norm You are a legend!
FAAAAAAAG!
I was roasted by Norm behind my back and it was one of the funniest things I’ve ever been a part of.
Kevin Nealon & I had a really good interaction after his show at Wiseguys in SLC. A little while later Norm was in town and at the photos in the lobby part I said
😃 “Kevin Nealon follows me on Twitter now, will you?”
And Norm goes “Oh sure. I can do that.”
😃 “Really?! Awesome! Remember it’s IamSkippy”
He said “I’ll remember. Take care.”
I left SO HAPPY.
One of the comedians who was still around after I left said *“When you left someone asked him if he really was going to and Norm goes. ‘You all know that’s never going to happen but I like that it made him happy. If he couldn’t tell that I said yes just to get to the next person, that’s on him.’ “*
Rest in peace Norm Mcdonald my heart breaks every day without you.
Norm Macdonald is a fucking legend and so is Dave.
I'm feeling thankful for Norm, especially today.
RIP Dave Chappelle.... you are missed
Did he said something that you don't like why Did you say RIP when he's a live and well
I still love another Star Search setup he did - Ladies and gentlemen, Chunk of Shit!...
Norm is the greatest smoky night club comic who ever lived
Whenever I’m not in a brood mood I’ll TH-cam Norm.. guaranteed feeling great in a few minutes.
Dave is not alone.
Love Norm, Love Dave. Can't say how much Stand Up and Comedy helped me through rough times. Still does today.
Nevertheless, you're sorely missed Norm.
Man I miss Norm .. still to this day underrated
I believe Dave Chappelle also loves Mark Normand. Norm MacDonald is definitely the comedian's comedian. Never seen talk show hosts laugh more with anyone else.
That picture that Dave put up at the end of his special, the for Norm one, caught me off guard, after an hour of non stop laughing when that came up in the credits i burst into tears, i didnt expect it.
Then i felt weird, a 43 year old man crying over a comedien that i had never met....the dude was the Goat.
R.I.P Norm, miss you buddy ❤❤
RIP old friend. Prayers 🙏
Amazing soundtrack 👏
I became a fan of norm the week BEFORE he died. It was so surprising, I was just watching him, catching up on the last 30 or so years I had missed when I got the headline that it was over. There was no reason to catch up because the ol coal train had run out of track. I told my dead and he was so disappointed. He had been a long time fan and didn’t even know I was beginning my discovery of him. God will treat Norm well, I know that.
I hope my friends and family and coworkers throughout the years will remember me with such fondness.
I remember the first time I saw Norm on weekend update, I didn’t care for him, but I saw him on Dennis Miller’s show on HBO, and he was talking about smoking and Joe Camel. That’s when I became a fan, I truly believe he was the funniest man in his time. RIP Norm.
Norm was one of the best comedians ever. Rip
That last line made my eyes sweat....because I dont cry....sniff...im not crying, its the allergies I dont have acting up.... spontaneous allergies, yeah, thats it....
R.I.P. Norm.
Love how you put together this video.
Beat reminds me of One Day by UGK which is a perfect vibe for it.
Thanks for the watch
Dirty Work is my favorite movie of all time
Me and my friend quote from it all the time
HE DID NOT DESTROY AT THE IMPROV
You know what they say: “speak ill of the dead”
