    It's insane to me how such high quality content has so few views. TH-cam should fix it's algorithm...
    Great job on the video, keep it up!

      @@UntamedScience It really does, and you should certainly embrace the "This is rocket science" type humour... ;-)

    3:13 ....that reminds me it time to clean our dryer duct/venting - nothing like a tube full of tinder attached to a heat source running through the home.
    Who knew this was also a home maintenance channel 😂

    Not bad but I'd have enjoyed a timelapse of all three being lit and then growing to consume the fuel till they burn down and some analysis of each. Maybe another video you can do comparisons.

    @stoneageman I use the upside down fire alot and it's one of the fires I teach as well in classes. Did you know that if you take dirt and fill in some of the cracks that you can extend the burn time significantly. Not a ton mind you but just enough that it slows down embers from falling through. 👍 Love your channel!

    Tinder for a spark or coal based method such as a friction fire ember or flint and steel or a firesteel. With an open flame such as a match or lighter, you should be able to directly go to kindling, if you size it correctly. At least that has been my experience over many years of messing with this stuff.

    Pine sap burns really quickly too! I learned that in grade 6! All you do is wrap it in some jute and light it! It's that easy!!!

    Those kites and falcons in Australia use fire too. I know, that's an annoying technicality, but I was fascinated when I heard about those psycho arson birds.

    I am pleased with your bush craft instruction. Absolutely no information is taken for granted. No one could do it better than what I see in this series, so far as I have gotten. I am happy to see you involve your children. If you don't put it in their heads, someone else will put something there. Canadian Prepper made a remark that sunk my heart, about being with his son at a Boy Scouts' get together some time ago. Social Scouts was my interpretation. At the bottom of my screen, your channels main page I see, "Deep Thoughts". Interesting titles... Kudos, sub'd

    Do you got any good tips for searching for dry fuel effectively? And how do I spot and test for dry material?
    What about a fire for signaling? Wouldn't a really late fire get attention? Like lighting the whole forest on fire? Or brun wet and green stuff to get smoke?

    • @UntamedScience
      @UntamedScience  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep, wet and green stuff is great for signal fires.

    I always make fire using your "reversed pyramid" scheme - a lot less smoke and maintenance, and inside an oven it will prevent the glass door from getting black with soot.
