- The Indian Army Armoured Corps is one of the combat arms of the Indian Army. Formed in 1947 from two-thirds of the personnel and assets of the Raj's Indian Armoured Corps. It currently consists of 63 armoured regiments, including the president's bodyguards.

The naming of the regiments varies. The terms "Cavalry", "Horse" and "Lancers", which have been dispensed with in the case of units raised post-independence, are historical legacies from the raising and renaming of these units when part of the East India Company's army and/or later the British Indian Army.
The Armoured Corps School and Centre is at Ahmednagar. As a matter of tradition, each Armoured Regiment has its own "Colonel of the Regiment", a honorary post for a senior officer who oversees the regimental issues concerning the unit.
I always thought Fighter pilots are most dashing in armed forces. But these dudes changed my mind.

Armoured corp has been derived from the concept of Horse power, thats were the tank play Major role. Currently Indian Army has 7,000 tanks in its arsenal. In life being citizen of the country try to accommodate inside the tank, trust me the heat inside will cook like anything. Hats off to the Armoured corps 😊

t-90 and t14 armata , a very useful weapon. Arjun tank not so much.
From what my cousins can disclose to me to ( both IA) different branches we have superior-tech just not for every soldier.
We are the best in every other way except for equipment and 'modern warfare wise'.
Yes our equipment might be faulty but training and willpower of our officers and men is best in the world

Whoever made documentry have got no clue about Tank Warfare..... so...... this documentry was constructed in a wrong way.... the documentry should have started with the information of the threats that a tankman faces (then the job would have a personal meaning to us - creating a picture in the minds of the audience from abstruct) then proceed with the information on how he can deal with those threat (how superior a Tank is in the battlefield) and finnally...... it should have ended with information on the offensive capibility of a tank (so that the viewers could have understood the the importance of armour as a war winning entity)......

in this age of advanced anti tank missiles & stealth bombers i dont think that armoured tanks and IFV's will become a formidable force in the future.
Lol , there is nothing which can replace the offensive power of a tank . The speed with which they can seize enemy territory is unmatched . The mechanised troops clear the area of any enemy anti tank troops

In 1948 Kashmir war, we deployed M3 Stuarts and in 1962 we airlifted lighter AMX-13 against China. But yes, they didnt see active action during 1948 and 1962 but they were prepared at the front actively

We were probably operating Centurion and T-55s there and not sure how effective they would be in the dense jungles of Srilanka.

Mohammad Hossain A high speed tank like t90 and trained tank crew can outmaneuver any anti tank weapons. Plus Indian tanks have diffence system to intercept warheads also add on explosive reactivate armour. Also Indian tankers are not stupid muslims in syria to use their tank as a sitting duck in battlefield and wait for animie to use their RPGs.
Mohammed Hossain.. You dumb guy. Both T-72 and T-90 are very small and compact because they have smaller turret due to one less crew member (no loader is needed). You think these small yet powerful tanks would be an easy targets?
