He he, yeah both nostalgic, iconic and cute runners. Gotta love them for what they are. Thanks a lot for watching, my friend. Always honered to see you here 🙂
So cool you had one back then! In 1986 I had a Nikko Turbo Panther. Loved it, and still do (one of the most iconic toy-grade hoppers of all times). If I had seen a Grasshopper back then I would not have believed my eyes ☺️ Thanks a lot for watching, Jason.
Just beautiful Mikael. Congratulations on 8K+ subscriptions mate, it is very well deserved. Here's to many, many more years of videos and chatting my friend.
@@NordicRC Well Mikael for me you are as old as you feel, and I feel like an 18 year old (Don't stand a chance of getting one though lol) Sorry just a bit of British humour and couldn't resist mate.
Great video! My daughter said the transmitters look like aliens and she's right....lol! Thanks for always responding! Does make everything more enjoyable and fun. Wish I had more people to share the hobby with...
Daryl RC Thanks, Daryl! Ha ha, yeah, now that she mentions it I can see it. Gotta love the kids. My boy usually also animate a lot of my RC objects: robots, planes, animals ☺️ Uhh, yeah, socializing, talking, discussing, making friends with other RC enthusiasts is the real pleasure with youtube. Especially since I do not have anyone near me into RCs. Wish I had more time to follow other channels, but there are so many good folks and great channels and right now so little time. After the summer I hope to get more time ☺️ I will visit your channel now.
Big congratulations for your 8K Mikael. Fantastic ! It has been a pleasure watching your videos, and also learning a lot from them, like how to repair and modify RC's, which parts to use and maybe not to use, and just as important to me, the different types of filming and editing techniques. You have helped me very much to develop my own channel over the years and I will always be grateful for that my friend. I enjoyed watching your Grasshoppers, and as I have one now I can really appreciate just how much fun they are. I bought a Hornet earlier this year and made a video of its first run last week. I will upload it in the coming weeks. Well hopefully we will be celebrating your 100K soon. Lots of love to you and your family : ))
Thank you so much Derek! Hard to tell you how much I have enjoyed our friendship, talks, common interests plus sharing the hobby together with our two channels. And the inspirations of videos and RCs goes both ways. Love your channel. I’m not sure if my channel will ever get to 100K though ☺️ But it’s all about enjoying the hobby with friends, and then the channel grows automatically. Hope to see more of your channel the next many years too.
Classic hoppers on a historic day - Congratulations on the 8K my friend - it's great to see your channel go from strength to strength! Well deserved Mikael - keep 'em hoppin' :))
@@PeteWylieRC Haha Pete! Yes, I must admit this (at the beginning of Mikael's video) is my music of choice for my build videos - thank god for TH-cam music library, and yes, I always screw quickly!!! :))
@@MarkBryanRC Well I have heard that but do you always screw quickly to that music and then do a little voice over to tell us what you did? And does Rob always video? This is getting weird! ;-)
@@PeteWylieRC HAHA!!! You really made me laugh with that one Pete, almost spat my beer out (almost!) Yeah, I usually have to add some commentary to my screwing! You are right - this is way too weird! :)) Mikael will soon be blocking us from his channel :-)
Ha ha, yeah, a very historic day ... for me at least ☺️ Thanks, Mark! As we talked about before, it’s good and motivating to follow one’s channel’s progress. And yes! Keep ‘em hoppin’!
Hey 8000 subs, well done my friend! You deserve it as you put a lot into this channel to keep us entertained. Lovely pair of green hoppers you have there! Great to have nice soft hay for them to land in. Anyway wishing you continued success with your channel and life in general at your new place with your family :-)
Thank you very much, Pete! Yeah enjoying ‘second life’ here on youtube. Both sharing on my own channel, but also following other channels like yours. Yeah, better land the Grasshoppers in the hay and grass - and let the Hornets do the real work 😀 Thanks a lot again Pete, and for all the talks on both channels!
First of all my good friend A BIG CONGRATULATIONS FOR REACHING OVER 8K 😱WOW😱 you deserve it, it will be 10k before you know it 👍😁👍 2nd what a fantastic comparison video, its amazing how they have kept it looking virtually the same 👍 fantastic video as always bro 👍BOOOOOOM 💥💣💥💣💥
Thanks, Tony! Yeah never imagined my little hobby channel would reach 8000. But the more RC enthusiasts the better. Good people. And yeah, it’s basically the same car, although technically they only share the front bumper and gears ☺️
Bora Radicevic Ha ha, I think it’s the trademark of nearly all amateur RC channels here on youtube 😂 And thanks, Bora, and thanks for the support, build help and many talks since December last year.
Nice hopping around with the Grasshoppers bro!! I think they'll need a 540 can to completely clear the grass mound thou..lol Congrats on 8k subscribers bud hope there are thousands more in the upcoming years :)
Thanks, Chris! And thanks for all the support! Yes, they are cute little green insects. And yeah, would need one of my Hornets to clear the grass, he he. But the Grasshoppers looked cuter when trying 😀
A friend of mine got the Grasshopper in 1985 .. You should do a vid of them on smoother road surfaces.. The Hopper could do 30mph!! .. And was amazing on snow..
Hi! Got loads of videos with them, also on smoother surfaces :-) These two, with the stock set-up, motor, gearing, can only go about 20 kph, he he. But got lots of other Hoppers/Hornets that go faster.
You need to buy you like seven or eight tons of soil or dirt. Typically with places like that if you buy 5 tons or more delivery is free and set you up a little track nothing huge something that has a few chicanes in it and a straight away with some other turns and one big sweeping turn. Pack it down with a soil packer. It's like a 55 gallon drum you fill it full of water and drag it over the top of your soil that packs it down. You got enough real estate there. Just a thought. I think it would be worth it for as much as you enjoy the old school as I do. This new stuff just baffles me. I got out of it for so long and then when I came back I was totally Blown Away by the way they had advanced. I never kept up on it at all when I got out of it. Started having babies. So I never had no time for it or the money but now they're grown and gone I thought I would try getting back into it and I was just blown away. I didn't know what a brushless motor was up until a year ago
Yeah, eventually I will make a proper run area and a little track. Got the area planned. Not possible now with the time I have at hand though. Maybe it could be done in the summer vacation. Could be a good idea to get some dirt in though I am probably just gonna start clearing an area of grass if I can find some help for it. And yeah, I was baffled when I returned to the hobby too, but no wonder, back then in the 70s and 80s I knew nothing of hobby-grade, so I would probably have been baffled (hope that’s the right word) even if brushless motors and high capacity LiPos didn’t exist 😃😂
He he, yeah, I never get tired of seeing my green Grasshoppers hopping in the grass, even though they probably only make it up to 10-15 kph in the grass 😂
Can someone give me a CLUE as to why I am having crapy luck with the ball bearings I am using and why I can't get the front wheels to spin for more than 30 seconds with "NO MATTER WHAT STYLE" yes I even bought fully ceramic? "FULL, CERAMIC," I tell you they cost 29 each and it still makes no difference. The cheap steel, the rubber blue, the black Fast Freddy's, the yellow with fiber sides, the hybrid, have tried every kind and the plastic gives better results WHY?
If it is the Grasshopper 1? I think there is a fault in the wheels. You have to cut something or it will bind on the ball bearings. Too long ago for me to remember. But I remember Shen RC made a video about it some years ago. Try searching for it on his channel.
Thank you! And yeah, lots and lots of the classic Tamiyas still to be build and run ☺️ Too numerous to mention and too little time but the LB is somewhere at the top of the list. But got an interest in the more recent Tamiyas as well and it’s hard to find the time for them all, with family and work. But I will get there eventually ☺️
So many things bug me about this vid. 27mhz? Come on....2.4ghz is the norm for a reason and is so inexpensive. Grass is literally the worst surface to drive on. Those little 380 can motors were probably ready to puke. Get those things on some dirt where they can really shine
Check out my Channel. Plenty of videos with big brushless motors, 2.4 GHz, dirt and so on. Would be boring to have only that though. Diversity and fun is the key. It’s my cars. Not yours 😅
Nostalgic cristal! 1:05
So Cute! 2:28
It seems that real two grasshopper play on the ground.
Thank you very much for wonderful four minutes.

Two beauties in their natural habitat and doing what they can best ... hopping! Great video 👍
Yeah, right where they belong with 10-15 kph 😊 Thanks, Charlie.
Got to love the Grasshopper, Congratulations on 8k Subscribers Mikael.
Thanks a lot Shayen! And thanks for hopping along on most of the ride and all the support through the years,!my friend!
