Hey Alex, I agree totally with you, because the apple vision pro not only has so much sensors, it also has a very very intelligent chip in it, what can make the quality so much better
That is the one thought I had: 3D movies made specifically for Vision Pro will surpass anything you do with any other technique. You would be inside the scene, rather than just watching it. And if Apple makes these movies, no other production will come anywhere near it.
With regard to emulating any lens and/or any digital camera...I don't think you understand the limits of "computed photography" or "computed video". I am a big fan of AI and photo manipulation, but if you don't understand the difference between digital zoom and optical zoom, you are missing a major point. The physics of light and optics and computed image manipulation have limits. I have designed satellite ground stations and image enhancement software for more than 40 years. BTW I am on the waiting list to get one of the first Vision Pro systems...I think it is fabulous and can't wait to get my hands on it.
Hey Alex, So I agree with what you said about how this could impact the future of filmmaking. Here are my 2 cents to the points made in the video. 1) the idea of capturing a moment how it was in real time is only scary because people might stop paying attention in real life! As they can always watch it back again. Example: if you film a birthday party with your phone, the video is a reminder not something that is supposed to make you relive the moment. If this will work like expected on those glasses. The immersive world of filmmaking is gonna be huge. 2) yes you can film from the glasses but one of the most important things is camera movement. This is something that has to be learnt and I am not sure how the glasses could solve that physical challenge. Unless the camera movement is POV. Then its obvious. All the benefits of locatioun scouting, editing and so on is mind blowing and really exciting. Great video! Can you hear me now?
Can you hear me now? Im excited to see what type of competition the Vision Pro will have to go up against in a few years. The first generation of a product is almost always pretty wonky, but a few years down the line, I think that this could realistically be the mainstream in many professionals workflow.
There is one simple reason the vision pro or devices like them will never replace the camera, because filmmakers don't want to capture everything the eye can see, the camera can do so much more than what the eye can. Thats the whole basis of subjective framing. When was the last time you saw something in an extreme shallow depth of field, or when you want a pan shot to frame something very specific instead of capturing everything around it.
Digital cameras will never replace film cameras. DSLR will never replace the cinema camera. Smartphones will never replace DSLRs. If you still think like this, you will be an antique collector. Within the last half-century, technology has advanced so rapidly that the next better technology has already become obsolete. The Vision Pro is only an early step for the next generation of high-end wearable camera systems. Who said the light-field technology wouldn’t allow for out-of-focus or bokeh effect in VR mode? It’s all in the software, and that is where the technology is at. You gotta “Think Different,” as Apple once famously ran a campaign about.
I completely agree with you on the exciting possibilities this signals could be on the way, and also with the potential negative effects of introducing this kind of technology. It's a combination of extremely exciting and quite daunting/scary just how quickly things are going to change in a relatively short period of time. Not just for filmmaking, but society in general. I think there's endless possibilities for improvement, but it will also drastically change the way we live our lives. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW
Can you hear me now? I am really excited about this new capture of technoligy, i dont know, what happens next in this genre, will this replace big beefy cameras?
but also YES love all your thoughts. this is such an exciting time to be alive in filmmaking! all I want personally is to be able to edit outside in broad daylight without lugging a computer around or having issues seeing my screen outside lol
Yeah it’s wild man. I definitely think that a camera manufacture is going to develop a camera specifically to use with the Vision Pro and I think that’s going to be mind blowing.
Future is already here You be able to edit and shoot your projects once it is released more filmmaking apps will coming I will get rid of my phone etc all other filmmaking equipment once I get Apple Vision Pro this is good video I feel by time it is released you have editing apps, AI apps, etc to create your content 2024 will forever be change for creators and entertainment. We living in amazing times!
I had not thought of the cinematography benefits you mentioned. Thanks. This give me ideas for an app, where reference shots could actually be OVERLAID in a faded transparency over the 3D filming you are trying to do... in realtime!
The disadvantage of having it attached to your head is that you move your head around all the time. Also it's not very practical having to run around with a goofy headset on your head. Can you imagine daddy filming his kids at their birthday party wearing the Apple Vision? I think apple and 3rd parties would do well to come up with a proper 8k VR180 camera so people can use that instead of having to wear the whole thing. It seems inevitavble that this will happen anyway
I think, this technology could be used, to create even better cameras, but the apple vision pro itself will never be a professional movie camera for huge budget movies. Probably Apple himself creates a real, huge, high resolution camera.
@jasonme577. ------ About 3 years ago Apple acquired a company called Next VR. Next VR was involved in offering 3D sports and concerts. But Next VR also had a system of very sophisticated pro level cameras that were able to do 3D capture in real-time. So that intellectual property is already among the many patents that Apple acquired. Ultimately the thing that will sell tons of headsets is 3D content of movies, sports, concerts and capturing the data for creating games.
Excited to see how this will integrate with Unreal engine and AI generative platforms like Runway... could literally become content machine from the couch, LOL
Can you hear me now ? This video made me discover your channel and I gotta say, you deserve a lot more recognition! Also, where will you announce the winner of the giveway?
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW I think you can. Great video! (By the way, I think we'll have most of the Black Mirror episodes in real life very soon 😅 ...I just discovered you're channel, thanks for this amazing video and the rest I'm seeing on your channel!
Can you hear me now? I do really think, this will replace big cameras, because it could easy make high quality 3d films, you could also easy watch it on these glasses and they are light, they are easy to use,… Maybe this is the future…
Can you hear me now. It's true that anything that makes things easier, cheaper becomes a useful tool for those who want to use them. This might just be a great tool especially as they advance it.
Can you hear me now? If you can, then I'm expressing how cool this tech will be by 2nd gen. It's already pretty awesome, but it'll be even better when refined. Apple does that kind of stuff well.
I totally agree with this guy. I was thinking the same things. But as far as this unit, mass adoption... The tech, yes... But Not this iteration. They'll get smaller, lighter, and a lot less expensive. And voila!!! Mass adoption!!! This first edition wasn't meant to sell to the masses at all. I'm extremely excited about what we'll be able to do with this thing. 🤦🏾♂️
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? I think, this will be used by TH-camrs, with small budget, for commercials and stuff like this. But real films with huge budget will still use ,,real“ cameras, i dont think, christopher nolan will ever use this for one of his films. Such big films will still be made with giant IMAX cameras. It also will take long to get these glasses to shoot 8K or even 18K like IMAX cameras can do.
I can agree but That’s just until they make some sort external camera that is specifically designed for this product. And it could probably be much smaller and lighter due to the fact that everything that you need would be on the Vision Pro, so it could be something as small as a DSLR or even smaller and just mainly a lens.🤷🏻♂️
@@Alexzarfatifilms Thats right, I think, this technology could be used, to create even better cameras, but the apple vision pro itself will never be a professional movie camera for huge budget movies. Probably Apple himself creates a real, huge, high resolution camera.
