Decision fatigue is quite tiring, in or out of mobile living.

There are always pros and cons with living an alternative lifestyle i.e van life or any kind of off grid living that living in a home with on demand water electricity and heating doesn't have but the benefits are also very different the feeling of freedom to travel or be free of some of the costs of living a more conventional life. Keep enjoying what your doing making memories and visiting some amazing places

I have a older SUV converted camper And really went with the smallest of options to make the most of everything Now its good for about 4 days out in no where But I have a toilet, A mini sink with portable USB faucet hooked up to 8 liters of water, And a cooler/fridge that gets thrown on to the pass side seat, 200amp ion battery where the rear seats use to be with Shore plug And a almost triple the power alt (no solar) Its a perfect set up for off road/logging roads fishing trips As the kayak fits on the side of the roof.
    - Advice : Sell your 100amp per batteries And buy ether the 280amp battery Or x2 200amp batteries making 400amp
Your bed set up looks huge even for 2 people But the design really take up more space than use. The headboard with little compartments And the extra long overhead above it. - Just a idea But get rid of the headboard And cut the overhead in half Take the one half And use the other side of the van to hang it (Sand down the bottom edge to prevent head banging cuts) You might just gain enough room at the back to have a stall for a sit in shower/toilet across Or slim up one side making it a double size bed .I would go with the first option as you can store items in the back when not in use (extra cooler/E-scooters etc) Showering idea outside the norm You can buy pumps with hoses And set your hose in a river Better models have propane heaters on demand And over all is low wattage. So You could hook up your plumbing from your PVC pipe to the Heater into the shower. Run a quick connect to from the PVC to the hose that leads to lake/river/ building connection Flip a switch you have unlimited time showering. Maybe a bigger PVC pipe? Or Duel? ...Just ideas
Food : Bulk up on pasta/rice/dry goods & canned - And whatever meats And packaged goods I personally number out meat into smaller portions 2 pork chops into one ziplock aired out bag. Chicken breast I slice And hammer them Then bag. Eggs Buy pre scrambled in a carton (1/2 the space taken) I did make about 2 weeks worth of food in the freezer part look like one big icecube Steak/pork/chicken/ground beef/bacon/bag of veggies hope it helps
As for parking In tourist areas And city life...Find industrial areas Warehouse And factories...Lots of vans there Well lighted They are patrolled Less homeless/jobless hanging around And if your on a street off the main road Less hassle
A place i stay is in a parking lot of many offices And part of my drilling company i work for They have a power outlet curbside I can use it And the property owner likes the idea of me keeping a eye out at the cost of electrical power Long as i keep it clean

There are pros and cons no matter where and how you choose to live. The bottom line is: if you love it, then it's the best decision ever for you, no matter what. It's always a delight to have you share a peek. Enjoy your week!

Full time vanlife isn’t for everyone. I know I couldn’t do it in my camper van with no bathroom on top of stuffing another person in there. But that’s just me, I enjoy being a fauxmad nomad.😂

For us - it's laundry. The worst thing about van life is where to do the laundry.

As someone building a small minibus, this is why I didn't go with a van but rather a small 22ft bus. A shower/bathroom, large fridge, more storage, etc. were important to take some of the things off the list you mentioned to be more comfortable on the road. A quiet honda generator is a must in Canada in addition to solar. But as I'm sure I will agree in the future... the pros will always outweigh the cons if you're heart is truly meant for this lifestyle and you enjoy being more in nature. ✌

That’s so fair! We truly don’t mind any of the cons & the freedom that comes with the lifestyle is so worth it for us 🤗
