This segment is absolutely brilliant. It predates Slay The Princess by several years and yet it hits all the same notes. Your actions in this segment shape the way this segment works. Do you see the creepy house and the cryptic notes and treat the whole thing as a horror/mystery story? Congratulations, you get gruesome deaths and jumpscares. Do you treat this as an H-game? Congrats, you plow your way across the Liddell family line. Save the girls but refuse to sleep with them? The game _dislikes_ that.
What do you mean by save the girls but refuse to sleep with them. You have to sleep with Lorina in order to avoid the actual creepy-like gameplay to get out right?
Wow up until now I never noticed this but at 18:11 when you talk to the eldest sister for about .1 second she says kill and then quickly changes what she is saying. Again thank you so much for this now I can actually see more slightly hidden details that I haven't noticed and had just missed out on
"I am going to Alice." "...Or so I thought..." I really like that you can actually hear the influence of Grand Guignol before you even go in near the start, with those turning gears and cogs in the background. Just from that alone, you can tell something is off, and it gets louder once you enter the door to see the family. It's almost as if, something is repainting and replaying your memories, possibly to get closer to you and rope you into it's trap in a more natural, willing way... and the very moment you deny the illusion, just like the rest of Wonderland, it all comes crashing down. Gears included. It really just goes to show how articulated everything is, but also how utterly fragile both Wonderland, and Carroll's sanity, is.
@@carlospadilla9099 Lewis Carroll was an actual author and is one of the souls trapped inside of Grimm's body, this is a twisted representation of his memories by Grand Guignol

@@sansclone1874 edith is the bird boss in the mental ward. other than just the same name, in the theatre one of the three plays shows edith and jack together in the mental ward, and in the chaos dungeon one of the bosses is eagle edith and jack the ripper. not sure if/how this is related, but before the edith fight theres a ton of static, which has played in scenes related to alice before too (like one of the sex scenes, forget whose, where if you say theyre better than alice theres static for a moment)

Then I have another question. Who’s the girl when you open the door not the ghost lady but the small child. Is she like the soul of the children Lewis murdered?
Correct, this is DLC3. As to how to access it: Well first you need to beat the Old King at depth 9 of the chaos dungeon. Go to the top part of the Carroll river, if you see new enemies(2) there it means it is unlocked, if it isn't you probably need to ALSO completed the hidden route aka G or F ending, i can't tell since i always do both. Anyway if it is unlocked follow the small path to the right and you see the boat, that'd be your destination. For more specific and detailed infos, check on either of the two Gigachads that is NokthanA or Kris Subject 037, both have some kind of guides/walkthrough on that.
There could be sooo many possibilities to it tbh. First at all, it's just TCO getting all in because you called the Alice Liddel. She really loves it, you know? Than, in the same time, it's Lewis mind getting destroyed since there is no little girl. For me it looks like TCO just destroys this part of GG because "hehe Alice".
None of them afaik, because lewis in the game was really weird, but overall he didn't actually do anything harmfull. But he also wasn't the best teacher for other girls, so this part is probably grimm's self searching and wishing to change something. Because in all endings, if you choose to turn back, you can see, that all girls are just mannequins and none of your actions matter at the end. So it was all just for lewis inside grimm to redeem himself and feel better
It's GG's recreation of Leaf's mind rape dungeon that was used to turn Lewis' soul to black goo and mix it into Grimm's society of dead authors gangbang forever screaming in his head just outside the corner of his allowed perception.
