Nice. Have some 2x2 14 gauge laying around and a cheap set of outdoor chairs that just got demolished in a storm. Probably doing this exactly. Might even get some 3x3 and make the bench a swinging chair.
I used spray paint made by krylon with the 5X adhesion. That’s the best spray paint I have found so far. Just make sure you clean the metal and spray it at least 2 times and then let it sit for a couple of days. For the wood just make sure you use some sealer. I would use some kind of marine grade wood sealer.

What is the back rest angle?
Are those seams showing on the outside?
Yes, I did not polish them at the time. Now I use a tiger paw to knock them down and blend them in before paint.
What size angle iron did you use
1.5 inch
When you weld them, NOT whenever you weld them.
Can i do yakisugi on any lumber?
I am sure you can use most lumber. Just do not use treated and If you want it to pop more I would use a bigger grained wood.
Can i use this as booth seating?
I do not see why you could not. Just make sure it is sealed good.
How long did this take
Maybe 3 hours
What is the length of the arms?
I believe they were about 18” long.
Nice. What gauge was the 2” tubing?
14 gauge
@@skylarwagner1155 thanks man. Started this project just now. Was the seat the 16 inch depth?
I believe so. But that is from outside edge to outside edge of the square tubing.
@@skylarwagner1155 I ended up going 20 as I’m gonna rotate them back as more lounger style. What paint did you use? Will it be weatherproof?
