They actually found the miners, lined them up against a wall, and told them to report in to their assigned village head from then on. Soon after they lost them again.

I have played 35 hours of Vintage Story in the week since I saw this stream. It has consumed my every waking moment. I hear the drifters banging on my door, even in real life. When I close my eyes, I see them, coming up from the caves far below. My hands shake even now, thinking of having to go back down there to search for copper. So yeah fun game looking forward to playing on the server!
All of the miners heard about the free copper at the bottom of the death hole, so they jumped in to get the easy copper. That's why it's hard to find any of the miners.
I'm glad I'm early to watch this I've been looking forward. Something about dozens of players forming their own small towns or civlizations is so satisfying yet interesting especially when you've got Rimmy in the chaos *also congrats 555k subscribers!*
I loved watching this stream when it came out. I had actually gone to feed my horse and get dinner before the horde of drifters showed up, so when I came back to see Rimmy on the roof of the longhouse in the midst of a zombie-goblin apocalypse, you could say that I was ever so slightly shocked, surprised and concerned.

I had absolutely wild fun watching the stream of this. This was my first look at Vintage Story and it looks super amazing. Can't wait for further videos to see what shenanigans happen in Bear's Landing.
I will mention here that the part about the miners disappearing for 2 hours only for them to come back with no copper but one somehow managed to pan some Uranium in the middle ages wasn't in the video. Obviously, selling it wasn't a success as the blacksmith can barely make low level pickaxes... x) Needless to say, I recommend the full vod, 20 minutes doesn't translate well the chaos and despair of the mining industry of Bear's Landing. Hell, it ended with Rimmy kidnapping a miner and forcing him to be the in-town representative to force them come back and know their location at all times.
This game looks genuinely fun and seems to have quite a lot of potential. I hope this series remains a constant for some time on this channel as I really want to see these towns develop into some real colonies (lag and performance be damned).
Damn... hoping your playing finally draws more attention to the game. It is an amazing game and seeing so many people on it makes me really want to play. Its partly why I don't play single player for long, as it is quite an empty world otherwise with most things wanting to kill you lol
Y'all may like setting up an Eco server to play over a week or two. It has a built in ability to make all kinds of custom laws and economic systems when you get down to it and you can do like what you did here and limit people to what professions they're allowed to play. It has a lot of RP and collaborative potential for a big group of people.
If this becomes a series I won't complain. damn just looking at this as well... I'd be a great peasant. You'd tell me "I need X resource" and my grug brain will just turn off, i will disappear for 3 hours, and I'll return with so much of it you won't know what to do with it all.
You put so much thought and planning into these events. I'd love to take part in something like this. Never saw anything near as organized in my gaming clan days... And these days I just play single player.

While you were heavy handed as a town leader, I agree it worked out well in the end. You actually had a functioning economy, your ultimate goal, and were able to stave off a peasant rebellion. It was quite a success even if you didn't make yourself rich or otherwise take advantage of the system.
i have gone through 2 low yield copper veins and it was still not enough copper for a 3 man sever, most of it went straight back into new pickaxes and prospecting tools, panning copper is 50% until you hit a really rich vein.
Not alot of people know it seemingly, Vintage story was originally a minecraft mod. and is still also being developed as such. it's called TFC or Terrafirmacraft. Still reccomend it. its fun.

As the town had no picks or metal, they couldn’t make more. To make matters worse, according to a comment, the world generation has metals really low. Sadly, the bigger problem was the miners didn’t really communicate well, as they couldn’t find them, even after finding their Miner Base…. Which was empty. Rimmy and the other heads were running around asking people to find or bring back miners, as they needed them to get Rocks for building or crafting. Honestly a funny stream!
Well, yeah. Terrafirmcraft and Vintage Story have the same Idea. Its hard to not be similar in one way or another when creating a Game and a Mod that aims to capture Realism. Two things that set Vintage Story apart from Terrafirmcraft tho is its RPG Elements and well, their own Modding Support which can add even more Realism than Terrafirmcraft. On the RPG side of things you can find docent of Ruins, Lore and also some Story Dungeons with Bosses.

Failing to send a messenger back to disclose their lack of progress until the end, while it makes for great drama, doesn't really make the roleplay fun. Edit: Just watched session 2. Miners successfully maintained communication, found a second easy node and a lot of minerals. For all it's worth, I'm rooting for them again. (Also wow I still hate the prospecting/node system.)
To steal a comment from the stream video: Kavlo sounds like the farmer from Hot Fuzz that they needed an interpreter to understand. Actually bought Vintage Story after watching the stream. It's... an ordeal. But I was in the market for not-Minecraft anyway and appreciate the high learning curve even if it's a notch too high. Hehe, notch.
