Yeah. Splatoon got so popular not only because of the fun gameplay and being a twist on the usual TPS, but also because we got so much of the outside world the squids life in. With the plaza and the splatfests, we got to see inkling culture first hand, and the story mode also gave us a context to why squids were the dominant species now, and the notion that its not just sunshine and rainbows (I mean, there was a big war with the octopuses). ARMS doesn’t give us a plaza, it gives us a menu. Nothing like spaltfests. No story crumbs in the story mode like the sunken scrolls did. Even if they can’t tell us about how the ARMS phenomenon began (since in universe, no one really knows), they should have shown us how this phenomena affected society, and how the ARMS boxing sport came to be. Worse, if you look to some characters and stages and some supplementary material, there is an inkling (pun intended) of information, enough to keep me wanting to know more, but also little enough to frustrate me that there isn’t that much story.
@@SuperPaperPokemon That it's like the best way of making it more interesting to the public, I would like to add mystery and Easter eggs about the characters, showing things about them, talking about their pasts, families, motivations, origins, personalities, etc. The game does an excellent job showing their personalities in game through animations, voices acting, and moves, thing extremely hard to do in a fighting game, but a bit more in safe and calmed situations, like watching them in the menu, pics of them in gallery, dialogues between them before and after each battle, personal dialogues in descriptions, etc. And making it as relatable as possible with modern people.
@Oliver McCall My theory: What with the recent attention ARMS has been getting, we might be getting a sequel, and the ARMS rep in Smash will be the star. My main bets are A: Spring Man returns as the face like in the first game, B: Min Min takes over as the most popular character, or C: They just have a character from the new ARMS as the Smash fighter instead of someone from the original roster.

Honestly, it kind of is. After trying the Free Trial they have right now, it's incredibly fun to play, especially when you play against other people in the different modes. I guess people don't like the fact that you literally just punch, dodge, block, jump and grab? Not sure, but I could definitely see this game gaining traction again after the Fighter is dropped.
Game didn't get traction because it feels too empty. It's fun and great and amazing for the first few matches but then once you played the characters it becomes stale. You see what makes fighting games like MK, Street Fighter, Smash, etc. replayable is becuase the huge amount of technical movement and combos you can put out. It's makes a game with nothing else going for it hard to master and once you do you're already a large fan of the game controls and design.
The one thing you gotta love about this game is the fact that once you start up the game it has such an amazing title song like I didn’t even want to play the game just listen to this all the time!!👏

I really hope arms gets a resurrection. It’s been years of radio static at this point. Nothing from Nintendo, and only 4 million sales for a massive original and heavily advertised game on switch. It’s entirely possible this will never become a series
I felt so bad when I knew that any of the songs from ARMS made it into Smash, even having an assist trophy, some costumes and spirits, nothing from the OST ;-; Come on, this thing was made by the Mario Kart composers, why not to add a single one?
I remember this being my favorite opening theme for any game when it came out, now that smash has brought me back here, I can say it still stands as one of my favs.
If we get Ninjara, Min Min or Twintelle, the rule of "Characters who are already Spirits cannot be DLC" will break. If we get Ribbon Girl, she will also break the rule of "Characters who are already Mii Costumes cannot be DLC". And if we get Spring Man, disconfirmations will die completely, the rule of "Characters who are already Assist Trophies cannot de DLC" will get broken alongside all the others, and people will have to be very stupid to support more of those fanmade rules that were never stated by Nintendo or Sakurai, many others in the past were broken. And even if it's not any of them, for the first time we will get a secondary character coming to Smash before the main character.

I used to play this game so much with my friend on his Nintendo, and it was my favorite game by far. I used to go to his house so much just to play this game. This song I had memorized a long time ago, and it brings back a crap ton of memories. I miss playing arms :')

Never played this game more than a couple times when my cousin wanted to play it, but I gotta admit, this game has that same nintendo polish to the soundtrack that they put into Splatoon 1 & 2. You can just *FEEL* the emotion on those ohh's and na-na's, just like in the squid-ese/squid-jubberish from the Squid Sisters or Off The Hook

With a sequel that contains a proper story mode that lets these interesting characters interact with each other, this could be something amazing.

Never played this game more than a couple times when my cousin wanted to play it, but I gotta admit, this game has that same nintendo polish to the soundtrack that they put into Splatoon 1 & 2.
You can just *FEEL* the emotion on those ohh's and na-na's, just like in the squid-ese/squid-jubberish from the Squid Sisters or Off The Hook
