    Your doing it just like I do except I also trace the sole onto the moccasin as well then your guaranteed that the sole fits perfectly with glue in the right places

      I found it on ebay. Most ones you find have a drop down menu for thickness selecting. From what I've seen. How this helps

    I liked this very much. I'm in the process of making my first pair of mocs. My issue was I didn't want to use leather strap for the soles, yet I didn't want the sole of the moccasins to wear out either. This was a great alternative. Good tip also on insoles, think I have a pair around here, makes for betteer comfort on the feet. Thanks a million!

    How did the 2 part epoxy hold up? Normally I see people use barge cement. I wonder which one is better.

    You can buy soles for them that are just like shoes , tennis shoes or flat boots.

      There's all types of things you can buy or make. I prefer to try things out. Make my own things. Test different things. Just have fun with it. Thank you for your comment

      @@jamesgibson7114 thank you. I actually think im gonna modify the top of mine. Currently they fold up and you wrap strings around then tie. Im thinking about trimming them and making more like a lace up style

    just a suggestion but it will be better cutting the pattern from each shoe ans marking them for a more custom fit. Before gluing the soul of moccasin use a wire brush and give the bottom a good scrubbing where the soul attaches.

      You are correct. I rough up all my new smooth leather. I was gambling in the fact they were used and a little beat up that it would adhere good. I was right. They are still attached to this day

    jusr bought hush pupy leather mocs wiv wedge crepe two piece soles that glue release after day or two from new so looking alternatives for this prob,lucky strikes

    I buy rubber sheeting ,mats from a store called PRI cess auto at about 7.00 a foot or so and glue or sew it to the bottoms of my moccs. Been looking for cheaper ways to do this.

      @@sabetoutdoorsurvival1862 it was used in trucks for lining the bed. But I found d it the same as some of the stuff I was paying big money for.you can cut it with scissors or knife and mine came in 3 thicknesses. The one I have has a patterns on it / \

    I just received 4mm crepe rubber for my mocs... not sure if it'll be too thick??? Any opinion?

      Sole Material is crepe rubber. Shoe is elk leather I believe. Glue is barge. Thank you for your comments

    Hey!! Loved your video and lol about the fan or window not open 😂 but was wondering how your soles are holding up. I’m currently making myself some Mukluks but not about to sew the thick rubber on by hand haha would rather glue it :) thanks in advance

      So dat they are doing pretty good. Haven't tested them heavily. That will happen this spring though. I plan on wearing them a lot more this year

      I make mukluks and some sew it on but to me it comprises the bottoms, now they put a lot of holes where wet can come in. I live up North where we hit minus 30 and colder, I just use the cement glue

      @@dougniergarth yes they did. Little reglue and trim at front one time. But she soles are still on them to this day

      @Learning5515 so far way better than I had hoped. Had a little separation at the side of the toes. But a little trim and clean up and reglue fixed that right up. But in all honesty I have not worn them this year very much at all. Last year was way more.

      I would assume it would be fine. I love in middle Georgia so I don't have much experience with snow. If you find out though, please let me know

    Dave get yourself a set of gasket cutting scissors. Not the shear it just cuts roll or rope style. I have a cheapO set in 3 sizes and cut anything from gasket material to thick leather. Use to use them when I worked on industrial boilers and pumps .

    Are the rubber soles staying on so far? I have latigo sole moccasins im going to type to glue 6mm crepe to the bottom but I don't want it to peel off

      Mine are doing great. I was actuary wearing them all weekend in the woods. In wet conditions. Use good glue

      Pretty much is. Several patterns work out with one solid piece. But then you can add tongues or heel pull tabs or other things if you please

      Adrieana Jefferson oh goodness. I believe it was 12 x 12 and 9 mm thick. I tried to go back and bite my recent purchases and it wasn't there. I'll continue to look. If i find it. I'll update

    I would make sure anyone working with that sort of cement to make sure they have adequate ventilation (best outside, honestly) and to work with a decent mask or ventilator because inhaling those fumes can potentially give you brain cancer. Heard of a guy who worked with that a lot without taking precautions and that happened to him. Gnarly stuff. Be safe out there, folks!

      Yes they have. The sides are not as solid but the centers and majority are still glued tight

    Great video. I have moccs that my friend made and the crepe soles are 'dissolving' and are very sticky and I am now scraping the sole off. Was the glue used incompatible?

      That's possible. Or the leather was used abs got gas or some kind of silent was wake through maybe?

      Some crepe soles are not separate premade soles glued on, but an unset crepe "goo" that is troweled on and vulcanized in place. Perhaps your soles did not receive enough heat to fully "set" for maximum strength. Just waiting for it to dry is not enough.
